Chapter 940 Invitation to Enjoy the Flowers

She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, and then said in a low voice, "Okay, I understand. I'll handle this."

Qi Hanlin looked at her, a hint of gratitude flashing in his eyes. He bowed slightly and said, "Thank you, Your Majesty."

Xu Yuehua nodded slightly and watched him leave before turning back into the house. Her steps were firm and powerful, like a valiant female general preparing for the impending battle.

Xiaolian sat at the table, a needlework in her hand, but she had no heart to do anything. She remembered Qi Hanlin's concern and smile earlier, and a warm feeling welled up in her heart.

Although she felt at ease living in the small house, she understood that her identity and status were no longer what they used to be. She was grateful for Qi Hanlin's understanding and respect, and also for Xu Yuehuai's care and companionship.

Xu Yuehuai returned to the house and saw that Xiaolian seemed lost in thought, so she went over and asked softly, "Xiaolian, what's wrong?"

Xiao Lian raised her head, looked at Xu Yuehuai, and then smiled slightly: "It's nothing, I just remembered some things."

Xu Yuehuai sat down beside her, looking at her with concern: "If you have anything on your mind, you can tell me."

Xiao Lian gently shook her head: "It's nothing serious, just a bit of a feeling."

The two exchanged a smile and said nothing more.

As night fell, the light inside the house shone with warmth. In this small house, Xu Yuehuai and Xiaolian spent a peaceful and cozy night together.

The next day, sunlight streamed through the delicate window frames, casting dappled patterns on Xu Yuehuai's desk.

She sat there, her eyes gleaming with a sharp light, as if she could see through everything. Her fingers gently stroked the pen, as if searching for some kind of power.

Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath and began writing letters. Her handwriting was neat and strong, each stroke revealing her determination and resolve.

Her pen danced across the paper, as if weaving a meticulously planned conspiracy. A cunning glint shone in her eyes, as if she could already see the dawn of victory not far away.

With the last letter finished, Xu Yuehuai put down his pen and smiled with satisfaction.

She waved her hand, and the guards suddenly appeared in the room, their figures shifting like ghosts. The guards knelt before Xu Yuehuai, bowing their heads respectfully.

Xu Yuehuai handed the letters in his hand to the guards, his voice low and firm: "Give these letters to the ministers and make sure they receive them personally."

The guard took the letter, his voice hoarse and low: "Yes, Your Highness."

Xu Yuehua nodded, signaling the guards to step back.

The bodyguard's figure vanished into thin air as if he had never been there.

Xu Yuehuai gazed at the scenery outside the window, her eyes gleaming with a profound light. She seemed to already see the future unfolding before her, her heart filled with anticipation and excitement.

Meanwhile, the Qin, Li, Liu, Wu, and other families all received Xu Yuehuai's letter. They each sat in their studies, holding the heavy letter in their hands. Their faces showed surprise and confusion, wondering what Xu Yuehuai was up to.

Qin Ming, the head of the Qin family, frowned, a hint of unease in his eyes.

He put down the letter in his hand, looked up at the window, and pondered to himself, "Xu Yuehuai has always been unfathomable. What is she planning to do this time?"

Li Hao, the head of the Li family, angrily threw the letter on the table and cursed, "That bitch Xu Yuehuai, how dare she interfere in His Majesty's selection of concubines!"

Liu Sheng, the head of the Liu family, fell into deep thought. His eyes flickered with a complex light as he gently stroked the words on the letter, as if trying to understand Xu Yuehuai's inner world.

Wu Yong, the head of the Wu family, revealed a sly smile, seemingly having seen through Xu Yuehuai's scheme. He shook his head slightly, a mocking smile playing on his lips.

The reactions varied, but they all understood that Xu Yuehuai's letter was not so simple. A power game fraught with undercurrents was about to begin, and they had to proceed with caution to remain undefeated in this game.

In Xu Yuehuai's study, she was still sitting at her desk, her eyes flashing with a sharp light. She smiled gently, as if everything was under her control.

The game is about to begin, and Xu Yuehuai is ready. She will use her wisdom and strategy to win and become the ultimate victor. The others, on the other hand, can only struggle to survive and hope to be the last one standing.

As night falls, all doors are tightly shut. But beneath this peaceful night, a power game is quietly unfolding. Everyone is plotting for their own benefit, and Xu Yuehuai is the mastermind behind this game.

During the flower festival, the palace was filled with a faint fragrance of flowers, as if the entire court was surrounded by all kinds of blossoms. Ministers from the Qin, Li, Liu, and Wu families each sent their beautiful daughters to the palace to participate in this grand flower festival.

One day, Xiaolian was admiring the flowers in the courtyard when suddenly, a palace maid who was close to her leaned close to her ear and said mysteriously, "I heard that the daughters of several ministers have been sent to the harem. Do you know who arranged this?"

Xiaolian paused in her movements, looked up, and exclaimed in surprise, "Really? I've never heard of that!"

The palace maid curled her lip, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes: "Of course it's true, this is big news in the palace."

Xiaolian shook her head; she really didn't know.

The palace maid lowered her voice, as if afraid of being overheard: "It was arranged by the Princess! Do you really think the Princess will stand by your side? You have no background or connections, none of them really take you seriously!"

Xiaolian's heart sank, and the thing in her hand accidentally fell to the ground with a crisp sound. She clenched her hands tightly, her eyes filled with disbelief. She had always thought that the princess was her support, her hope, but now, it all seemed to have vanished like a bubble.

Just then, Xu Yuehuai suddenly walked into the courtyard, and her appearance immediately attracted everyone's attention. The palace maids all bowed to her, and she responded with a smile and a nod.

Xu Yuehuai walked up to Xiaolian and noticed that she was pale and looked nervous. He frowned and asked, "Xiaolian, you don't look well. Are you feeling unwell?"

Xiaolian forced a smile, trying to hide her unease: "It's okay, I'm probably just a little tired."

Xu Yuehuai, however, did not let her off easily. He gave her a deep look, as if trying to see through her thoughts.

"Xiaolian, I know you have something on your mind. If you have any difficulties, you can tell me, and I will do my best to help you."

Xiaolian felt a surge of emotion, and tears welled up in her eyes. She knew that Xu Yuehuai genuinely cared about her.
