Chapter 1262 Individual Actions

Xu Yuehuai took out a token from her bosom, given to her by Qi Guze, symbolizing supreme authority. With a sharp expression, she handed the token to the leader of the secret guards: "This is an order! You must carry it out. I know this mission will be extremely dangerous, but I have my own plan, you don't need to worry about me."

The head of the guards took the token, a hint of struggle flashing in his eyes. He sighed helplessly and said to the other guards, "Let's go, and do as the princess orders."

"Your Highness, please take good care of yourself!"

The guards obeyed and left. Xu Yuehuai watched their departing figures, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She knew this operation had exceeded her control, but she couldn't back down easily; she had to persevere for everyone's lives.

Night fell like a deep black velvet cloth, silently covering the vast earth and shrouding everything in a mysterious darkness.

The mountain path, bathed in the soft moonlight, seemed to transform into a shimmering silver ribbon, winding its way into the unknown distance.

Xu Yuehuai, this agile woman, sped alone through the night. Her shadow, stretched long in the moonlight, resembled a black streak, standing out starkly against the night sky. Her heartbeat synchronized with her steps, pounding powerfully, each beat echoing in the silent night, revealing her inner steadfastness and determination.

Every step felt like a race against time; all she could see was the border of the Great Zhou Kingdom!

Just as she was about to reach the border of the Great Zhou Kingdom, a low voice suddenly rang in her ears.

Xu Yuehuai immediately became alert. She quietly approached the source of the sound and saw several soldiers talking in hushed tones.

A tall soldier's eyes gleamed with greed, and the torch in his hand flickered in the night wind, illuminating his excited face.

"Maybe we'll find that treasure soon." The tall soldier's voice was full of anticipation and excitement.

"Are you sure? I have a feeling something's not right here. Could it be a trap?" The short soldier asked, somewhat uneasy.

"You interrogated that woman yourself, how could that be fake? Unless she didn't want her husband to live!" The tall soldier sneered.

The short soldier hesitated, scratching his head and saying doubtfully, "But I still don't think the treasure could be hidden in a place like this. Should we go back?" His voice was full of uncertainty and doubt.

The tall soldier glanced at him. "If you don't want to go, then leave now and don't disturb my treasure hunt." He seemed to already see the treasure gleaming before his eyes and couldn't wait to find it.

Xu Yuehuai was startled; she realized that the "treasure" these soldiers spoke of might be extraordinary. She decided to follow them to see what was going on. She held her breath and cautiously followed the soldiers, afraid of being discovered.

Soon, the soldiers arrived at a desolate meadow. Under the moonlight, an object wrapped in cloth lay there quietly, emitting a faint glow.

The soldiers eagerly opened the package, and there lay a crystal-clear bead, seemingly containing endless mysterious power.

"This bead...it's amazing!" the tall soldier exclaimed. He reached out to touch the bead, and a cool sensation instantly spread throughout his body. An excited and greedy smile appeared on his face, as if he could already foresee future wealth and glory.

However, Xu Yuehuai sensed the danger. She strode forward and shouted, "Get rid of that thing right now! It's poisonous and will affect your sanity!"

Her voice was firm and anxious, but the soldiers remained unmoved.

"What nonsense are you spouting, woman? This thing clearly looks like a precious jewel!" the short soldier roared, brandishing his weapon in a fit of rage.

The tall soldier wavered somewhat, but he still stuck to his judgment: "I can feel a particularly cool power inside, this must be the treasure we are looking for."

Xu Yuehuai knew that these soldiers had been bewitched by the poison, and she had to stop them as soon as possible.

She drew her longsword and stood before the two men.

"I'm saying this one last time! Put this thing down right now! Or don't blame me for being impolite!"

"Heh, you're such a hassle, woman. We'll see how your brothers teach you a lesson later," the short soldier said with a wicked grin. She...

"You're welcome. I'd like to see just how you're going to be impolite." The tall soldier instantly drew his broadsword.

They all attacked Xu Yuehuai, attempting to capture him.

Xu Yuehuai moved with agility, skillfully dodging the soldiers' attacks while searching for an opportunity to counterattack. Her movements were as elusive as a ghost, making it impossible for the soldiers to pinpoint her location.

"How could this be? She's just a woman, why is her kung fu more impressive than ours?" The tall soldier was completely dumbfounded, never expecting that he couldn't even beat a stranger.

However, at that moment, the short soldier suddenly made a surprising move—he grabbed the poisonous bead and swallowed it without hesitation!

"Ah—! It truly deserves to be called a treasure!"

A crazed glint flashed in his eyes, and he became incredibly powerful. His weapon seemed to have evolved as well, and his attacks became even more ferocious.

"Go to hell! You bitch!"

He roared madly, each attack filled with deadly power.

Although Xu Yuehuai was highly skilled, she was still caught off guard by this sudden turn of events.

She fought with all her might to fend off the attacks of the short soldiers, but her strength was soon running out.

After a violent impact, she fell heavily to the ground. Although she was not seriously injured, her internal energy was suppressed for some reason, and she almost lost the ability to resist.

But Xu Yuehuai was like a tenacious cheetah; she was covered in wounds, but her bright eyes burned with an indomitable light.

She struggled to her feet from the cold earth, each muscle twitch accompanied by excruciating pain. However, she did not give in; instead, she clenched her fists and fixed her sharp gaze on the short soldier not far away.

The short soldier was also shocked by Xu Yuehuai's tenacity. His eyes widened and he raised his weapon again.

However, Xu Yuehuai did not give him any chance. She took a deep breath, adjusted her breathing, concentrated all her strength, and then rushed towards the soldier.

Just as the two were about to clash, Xu Yuehuai keenly spotted a tiny flaw in the short soldier—his steps were slightly unsteady, clearly due to exhaustion from the long battle.
