“I killed his most beloved woman,” the mad queen suddenly said, a cruel smile on her face. “I poisoned her, so that the king will always be with only me.”
Xu Yuehuai couldn't help but shiver. She knew that the Mad Princess had completely gone mad. She gently patted the Mad Princess's shoulder and said softly, "You're tired. Take a good rest."
After saying this, Xu Yuehuai got up and left the room. She glanced back at the mad princess, her heart filled with mixed emotions. This once glorious princess had fallen to such a state; it was truly heartbreaking.
When Xu Yuehuai returned to her room, Qin'er rushed in, asking with a worried look, "Sister Yuehuai, how's your investigation going?"
Xu Yuehuai sighed and said, "I have obtained some clues from the Mad Princess, but I still cannot find out what the secret is."
Upon hearing this, a resolute glint flashed in Qin'er's eyes, and she said, "Sister Yuehuai, I will help you."
Xu Yuehuai looked at Qin'er, a warm feeling welling up inside her. She knew Qin'er genuinely wanted to help her. So, she nodded and said, "Then what should we do next?"
Qin'er smiled slightly and said, "I have an idea."
The next morning, Qin'er secretly brought a mysterious man in black robes to Xu Yuehuai's house.
The man was tall and thin, his face hidden behind a black veil, revealing only a pair of sharp eyes. He entered the house silently, giving off a very eerie feeling.
Xu Yuehuai looked at the mysterious man in black robes, feeling a little uneasy.
However, Qin'er trusted this person completely. She introduced him to Xu Yuehuai: "This is a friend of mine. He is proficient in hypnosis and can help us obtain the secret of the Mad Princess."
The man in black nodded without speaking. He stood quietly to one side, as if waiting for something.
Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath and decided to take the risk. She and the man in black robes arrived at the Cold Palace. It was gloomy and eerie, with a chilling aura hitting them.
The mad princess sat in a corner, muttering to herself, her expression strange. The man in black robes observed her quietly for a while, then nodded to Xu Yuehuai.
Xu Yuehuai immediately went to the side of the Mad Princess and gently called her name.
The Mad Princess looked up at Xu Yuehuai, her eyes revealing doubt and wariness. But Xu Yuehuai did not give up. She continued to gently call the Mad Princess's name, and gradually, the Mad Princess's eyes became unfocused.
Upon seeing this, the man in black immediately began his hypnosis. His voice was deep and magnetic, as if it possessed a magical power.
He slowly chanted some incantations, which began to relax the mad princess's body.
Her eyes became vacant, as if she had fallen into another world.
Xu Yuehuai observed everything nervously, knowing this was a crucial moment. She walked to the Mad Queen's side and asked softly, "Do you know that secret? Do you know how to find the edict left by the former King of Mingyue?" She asked this question with a hopeful heart.
The Mad Princess's lips moved slightly, as if she were responding to Xu Yuehuai's question. But her voice was very weak, as if it came from a distant place.
Xu Yuehuai listened intently, but could only make some indistinct sounds. The man in black robes continued to cast his hypnotic spell, his voice echoing in the empty, cold palace.
The mad princess's body began to tremble slightly, and a look of pain appeared on her face.
Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened; she knew the Mad Princess was going through a very painful experience. She couldn't help but want to step forward and comfort her, but she knew she couldn't disturb the man in black right now.
After a while, the mad princess's body suddenly stiffened. Her eyes snapped open, her pupils dilated, as if she had seen something terrifying.
Xu Yuehuai looked at her nervously, wondering what had happened. The man in black robes quickened the pace of the hypnosis, his voice becoming more urgent.
Suddenly, the mad princess let out a piercing scream. Her body convulsed violently, then she collapsed to the ground. Xu Yuehuai immediately rushed forward to support her.
Xu Yuehuai didn't expect that the first question he asked the Mad Princess would be impossible for her to answer.
She couldn't help but ask the man in black robes beside her, "What's going on here?"
The man in black robes said, "I've never seen this before, but it might work if I hypnotize the mad princess again."
So Xu Yuehuai suggested waiting until the Mad Princess woke up before trying again, and then she asked the man in black robes to stay with her in the courtyard for the next few days.
In the afternoon sunlight, Xu Yuehuai and Qin'er stepped onto the stone steps and entered the courtyard.
Sunlight dappled the ancient buildings, creating a tranquil atmosphere throughout the courtyard.
However, Xu Yuehuai's heart was far from at peace. Her mind was still replaying the conversation she had just had with the mad princess, and the unanswered questions left her unsettled.
"Qin'er, why do you think the Mad Princess suddenly had such a big emotional fluctuation after I asked her a question? Why did the hypnosis fail?" Xu Yuehuai frowned, looking at Qin'er beside her, trying to find an answer from her.
Qin'er pursed her lips, a hint of doubt in her eyes. "I don't know either. Perhaps we can try hypnosis again to see if we can awaken her memory."
Xu Yuehuai pondered for a moment, then nodded. "You're right, let's try again. But this time, I need your help."
A resolute glint flashed in Qin'er's eyes. She understood Xu Yuehuai's determination and was aware of the importance of this hypnosis session.
The two returned to the study and began preparing to try hypnotizing the mad princess again.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the courtyard, the man in black robes stood silently in the shadows. His gaze was profound, as if he could see through all appearances. He too was filled with confusion, unable to understand why the Mad Princess had been unable to answer Xu Yuehuai's question.
However, he did not show any emotion, but simply observed everything around him silently.
The next day, Xu Yuehuai and Qin'er returned to the Cold Palace, where the Mad Princess remained unconscious.
Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath and composed herself. She stared at the mad princess's face, trying to find a clue in her expression.
Qin'er played soft music nearby, trying to create a suitable environment for hypnosis. Xu Yuehuai gently lifted the Mad Princess's wrist and felt her pulse.
Her hands trembled slightly, and an indescribable emotion welled up inside her.
“That’s enough. Her physical condition is quite good now. Continue hypnotizing her!” Xu Yuehuai said to the man in black robes beside her.
"yes!"
After saying this, the man in black closed his eyes and began to mutter a hypnotic incantation.
