Chapter Seven: I'll Kill You

She was completely disoriented from the bumpy journey.

By the time the carriage arrived at its destination, Xu Yuehuai was almost vomiting.

Soon, the group of fierce-looking bailiffs threw her into a cell.

Xu Yuehuai landed on her body first; if she didn't know martial arts, she would be at a great disadvantage.

She used the "iron bench" technique, seemingly falling flat on her back, but in reality, she was not injured at all.

"You guys are going too far."

Xu Yuehuai was furious and muttered something.

The jailers ignored them and turned to leave.

At dusk, someone brought in some food.

Xu Yuehuai noticed that there were many pitiful people detained across from the prison. When they saw the leftovers arrive, they were all eager and wolfed them down like whirlwinds. As for herself, she had no appetite and didn't eat anything.

Outside.

Zhou Wan was extremely anxious and sought advice from Liu Cuiming.

"Madam, my mother has been wronged by them. Let's work together and think of a solution."

Previously, Liu Cuiming followed Xu Yuehuai with the intention of using her power to take him to Chang'an. Now, he could only watch helplessly as Xu Yuehuai was captured by a group of soldiers.

She knew the odds were against her, and if Xu Yuehuai hadn't implemented grain management, requiring her to ask Zhou Wan for three meals a day, she would have turned around and run away long ago.

"Zhou Wan, are you out of your mind?"

Liu Cuiming frowned. "Hint to the officers and soldiers, those are a bunch of ruthless killers. What are we? Forget about it. There are plenty of people going to Chang'an right now. We still have food. Let's not cause any trouble. Going to the capital is the proper thing to do."

Zhou Wan was stunned.

"You're just going to stand by and watch someone die?"

Her tears welled up in her eyes, but ultimately didn't fall.

The other person sneered and mocked, "Zhou Wan, don't you know how she's treated you? And now you're still saving her?"

"Shut up."

Seeing that her request for help was denied, Zhou Wan turned around and walked out.

At the door, Jiang Shichen was eating. Zhou Wan approached, grabbed the little guy's hand, and was about to leave.

"Mother, shall we save Grandma?"

"Of course we'll save them. Let's go find the eldest son's family."

Zhou Wan pinned her hopes on Jiang Mingfu and Zhou Qionghua.

After all, they are the eldest son's wife, and the two of them have traveled all over the country doing small business for many years. They know many people and are quick-witted. If they are willing to help, the matter will be settled.

But Jiang Shichen let out a cold laugh that was out of character for his age, "Mother, you'd better not look for them."

Why?

In fact, Zhou Wan knew that contacting them would be of no use.

But after all, this is the only thing she can do now.

The two were quickly kicked out of the house by Jiang Mingfu.

"Go away, go away, I don't know any Xu Yuehuai, get out."

The two left the house, and Zhou Wan was sullen and unhappy.

Meanwhile, Qi Guze arrived at an inn.

He sat at the octagonal table, with a dignified and imposing man behind him.

The man was seven feet tall and imposing, with a somewhat fierce expression on his face. He was wearing armor and dressed as a general.

This man is Tie Xiong, Qi Guze's bodyguard.

At this moment, Tie Xiong gave him some booklets and said, "These are all petitions that the people have prepared to send to the Censor over the years, but unfortunately they may be intercepted before they even leave Heping County."

Qi Guze unfolded the booklet to read.

The pages were dirty, but every word inside was clear.

He was already terrified after reading only a small part of it.

"Qin Wuyu summoned my youngest daughter to his mansion, saying she was to do some work, but she has not returned for three and a half years. I strongly suspect that he killed my daughter."

This is one of the contents.

And then, something even more terrifying appeared.

Some people have evidence to prove that Qin Wuyu embezzled and accepted bribes.

The pages were stained with blood and showed signs of being burned by fire.

He was rescued.

But the matter was left unresolved.

How is she now?

"He was imprisoned, not eating or drinking, and seemed very angry."

Qi Guze smiled, seemingly in no hurry to offer his help.

Inside the prison, Xu Yuehuai did not eat anything, because her keen sense of smell told her that there was something dirty in the food, and that eating it would likely cause trouble.

She threw the food in the corner, and soon several fat, big-eared rats appeared.

The group of mice frantically snatched the food, and soon the plate was empty.

Fifteen minutes later, the mouse slumped over and then died.

Bleeding from all seven orifices.

She picked up the mouse, looked at it, and then tossed it into the corner.

Could it be that someone poisoned him to kill him?

Just as she was feeling confused, Xu Yuehuai heard footsteps, followed by the sound of two guards chatting unabashedly. One of them said, "That young lady is the one the master has taken a liking to. She's fair-skinned and delicate. Tell me, isn't this like a golden phoenix flying out of a mountain valley?"

"Yes, once the master has used it and is tired of it, it will still be yours and mine."

Another one let out a smug, cunning laugh, "I wonder if she drank that stuff?"

"That thing?"

Xu Yuehuai's heart skipped a beat. What was that?

It was clear that it wasn't poison, and she quickly realized the truth.

Good heavens, she was actually waiting for him here.

When the two guards arrived one after the other, they saw Xu Yuehuai resting with his face turned inward, seemingly dead.

Two guards opened the door, picked up the limp Xu Yuehuai, and carried her out. She had endured for a long time along the way, but in the end, she was still left in a room.

The house wasn't big.

After the two bailiffs left, Xu Yuehuai opened her eyes.

She looked around; the room was filled with the glow of candles.

In the dim, ambiguous light, a cruel laugh was heard, and the person who heard it soon entered.

It was indeed Qin Wuyu.

The scoundrel approached her in a few steps, eager to...

Take off her clothes.

If she didn't resist, she was afraid she would be completely taken advantage of. So the moment the other man's stubble-covered mouth came close, Xu Yuehua grabbed his throat and, while exerting force, sat up straight.

"Oh, so the master has a taste for this?"

"You...cough cough cough, you..." Qin Wuyu never expected that he, who had been so wise all his life, would be outsmarted by a little girl. The other party smiled sweetly, and the strength in her hand increased endlessly. "You're still too green to outsmart me. Let me go."

Let go of me.

Qin Wuyu was panting...

She had no intention of killing anyone, and gradually relaxed her strength.

Qin Wuyu then looked at her.

"You filthy bitch, I'll kill you."

"Kill me?"

She is the inheritor of an ancient martial arts family. How can Qin Wuyu's mediocre martial arts be compared to her?

The next moment, Qin Wuyu felt a sharp pain in his back, and when he tried to speak again, he couldn't say anything.

At this moment, Xu Yuehuai plopped down opposite him, like a hawk catching its prey. Instead of killing the prisoner, he slowly asked, "You haven't seen anything happen to my men?"
