Xu Tian clutched the spot where he had been kicked, his face contorted in pain. The man stood arrogantly before him. Li Cheng stepped forward and helped him up, remaining silent throughout. Only then did the man notice his presence.
The man looked at Li Cheng, smiled, and said, "I didn't expect you to be so bold. Do you know that by helping him up now, you're going against me?"
The man spoke lightly, without any real threat, but those who listened felt a strange sense of danger. Li Cheng said, "Senior brother, the sect has rules against fighting amongst yourselves. If you continue fighting, you will be violating the sect's rules and will be expelled from the sect."
The man was taken aback. He hadn't expected these two greenhorns from the lower realm to speak to him like that. He nodded and said, "Alright, alright. Since you've said so, I have to give you face. But you just wait and see. This matter will not end so easily."
The man had assumed the two were ignorant of the rules and could bully them at will, but now that he saw Li Cheng was not so easy to bully, a sense of guilt welled up in his heart.
After the man left, Xu Tian shook off Li Cheng's hand and said fiercely, "Go away, I don't need your fake kindness."
Li Cheng didn't insist on going up there to do anything. He returned to his room to continue cultivating. He didn't have any special skills. He only managed to enter the top fifty in the competition by relying on some luck and a little bit of strength, which gave him the opportunity to come to the second floor.
After returning to the house, Xu Tian was in so much pain that he grimaced and his face was contorted.
"Damn Yu Ze! He left me with such a huge mess, and now he's making me clean it up. It's outrageous!" Xu Tian didn't care about the consequences and blamed everything on Yu Ze.
Xu Yuehuai cultivated on the sect leader's mountain peak for a while, but he felt that he couldn't calm down, so he decided to go out for a walk. However, as soon as he went out, he encountered Xiao Qian, who was sneaking around outside.
Xiaoqian was the senior sister who had gone to the third floor to pick them up. On the spirit boat, she had told them a lot about the second floor and had even helped them when Yu Ze made things difficult for them.
But ever since Xu Yuehuai and the others entered the second floor, they hadn't seen or heard from Xiaoqian again. So when Xu Yuehuai saw Xiaoqian here, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes. She walked up to Xiaoqian and asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Xu Yuehuai's attitude was neither too humble nor too rigid. As the disciple of the sect leader, if she were too humble and ingratiating, it would be detrimental to her relationship with her fellow disciples.
Xiao Qian hadn't expected to actually be able to stake out Xu Yuehuai in this place. When she saw Xu Yuehuai, her eyes lit up. "Senior Sister, I want to ask you for a favor!"
Xu Yuehuai suppressed her emotions and asked, "Tell me, if it's not something serious, I can agree."
"I want to enter the inner sect, is that alright?" Xiao Qian looked at Xu Yuehuai cautiously, her eyes still holding a hint of probing.
Xu Yuehuai felt puzzled. Xiao Qian on the spirit boat seemed weak and easily bullied, but now she had the audacity to ask her if she could enter the inner sect.
"Entry into the inner sect is decided through a competition. The competition has just ended, and it's inappropriate for you to ask me to open the back door." Xu Yuehuai politely declined her suggestion. She only had a good impression of Xiaoqian, but that didn't mean she would agree to Xiaoqian's unreasonable request.
Upon hearing Xu Yuehuai's words, the light in Xiaoqian's eyes dimmed instantly, like a ship at sea that had lost its way, crashed into a giant iceberg, and was about to sink.
"However, if you encounter anything in the outer sect, such as being treated unfairly or being bullied, you can tell me. Perhaps I can help you resolve such matters." Xu Yuehuai's words were rather conservative.
She doesn't owe Xiaoqian anything, and has no obligation to help her.
The light in Xiaoqian's eyes rekindled, and she looked at Xu Yuehuai, "Really?"
Xu Yuehuai smiled and nodded. "So what happened to you?"
Xu Yuehuai did not fall into Xiao Qian's linguistic trap, but instead asked what had happened.
But when it came to the question, Xiaoqian became hesitant, as if she wanted to say something but didn't dare to. "If you haven't figured out how to be honest with me about this yet, wait until you've thought it through. I'll be waiting for you here at this time tomorrow."
After Xu Yuehuai finished speaking, she paused for a second or two, observing Xiao Qian's attitude. Seeing that Xiao Qian didn't react much, she decisively turned and left.
She plans to visit the library to read some books, and then begin practical training in the secret realm starting tomorrow.
As for alchemy and talisman making, she could only do them in her spare time.
When Xu Yuehuai arrived at the library, there weren't many people inside. It was probably because the assessment had just ended and everyone wanted to rest.
When the Fifth Elder saw Xu Yuehuai arrive, he looked at her with some wariness in his eyes. "I'm telling you, girl, you'd better be careful this time when you're reading. Zi Sangyi didn't treat you like anything before, but it's different now. He treats you like the apple of his eye. If you faint here again, I'll be in big trouble!"
The Fifth Elder said these words to Xu Yuehuai in a teasing tone.
As soon as these words were spoken, two heads suddenly popped out from the second floor, one in front of the other, looking incredibly neat.
Baili Xiuwen watched Xu Yuehuai's figure and smiled at Fu Ziyi, "You guessed wrong. Give me the spirit stones, don't try to cheat me."
Fu Ziyi scoffed disdainfully, tossing a bag of spirit stones to Baili Xiuwen, and said, "You're worried I'll renege on this? You really don't know my strength."
Baili Xiuwen shrugged, neither confirming nor denying it.
He said that just to set the mood. After the little farce ended, Baili Xiuwen wanted to stand there and watch for a while longer, but Fu Ziyi turned around and continued to lie down.
"Why did you lie down? Why didn't you get up and say hello to Senior Sister?" Baili Xiuwen teased.
Fu Ziyi, who was lying on the ground, didn't even bother to glance at him. He just lifted his eyelids and said, "If you don't have anything to do, you can consider reading more books. That old man said there will be an assessment at the end of the month."
When the two heard voices below, they made a bet on who came in. Baili Xiuwen guessed Xu Yuehuai first, but when it was Fu Ziyi's turn, he didn't listen carefully and just said a random name.
