Chapter 800 Secret Escape

"I live in the Hundred Flowers Pavilion of the Underworld Moon Kingdom!"

"OK!"

The two exchanged a smile, everything understood without a word.

Although Xu Yuehuai still had many doubts and questions, the most important thing now was to maintain contact with the Ghost Doctor. Only in this way could she better complete her mission.

In the deep of night, Xu Yuehuai bid farewell to the Ghost Doctor.

The Ghost Doctor gave Xu Yuehuai a deep look, as if trying to etch her image into his heart, then slowly turned and disappeared into the night.

Xu Yuehuai watched him leave, a feeling she couldn't quite describe welling up inside her.

Ah Qi pushed open the door, breaking the tranquil atmosphere.

His eyes were sharp, and he immediately noticed that Xu Yuehuai had just had a deep conversation with that Taoist priest. Although he had doubts, he didn't ask directly, but simply asked, "What did you talk about with that Taoist priest?"

Xu Yuehuai smiled slightly, a hint of cunning flashing in her eyes, "I was just asking a few more questions about how to recuperate."

She answered casually, as if they had only talked about some trivial topics.

Ah Qi wasn't stupid; upon hearing Xu Yuehuai's answer, he understood that she hadn't told the truth. But he didn't delve into it further; as long as Xu Yuehuai was healthy, he was content.

Why bother uncovering the stories behind them?

Just then, a Moon Guard suddenly burst in, his face showing some anxiety.

He said breathlessly, "A large number of troops have suddenly appeared around here and are searching. Young master, let's leave this place quickly!"

Xu Yuehuai's expression changed slightly. She wondered if those people were looking for her.

Ah Qi frowned, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

He nodded, took Xu Yuehuai's hand, and said in a deep voice, "Let's go."

The two quickly walked out of the courtyard, followed by a flurry of footsteps and a cacophony of voices.

Ah Qi led Xu Yuehuai through the dark alleys, his eyes firm and resolute, as if no difficulty could stop his determination to protect Xu Yuehuai.

Xu Yuehuai was moved, but she also understood that her situation was not optimistic, so she quickened her pace and moved forward quickly!

At the end of the alley was a desolate wasteland. Ah Qi stopped in his tracks, a hint of wariness flashing in his eyes.

He said softly, "Let's hide here for a while." With that, he pulled Xu Yuehuai behind a patch of grass.

The moonlight spilled across the field, illuminating the two people's tightly clasped hands.

Xu Yuehuai's heartbeat gradually calmed down. She turned to look at A Qi and saw that his eyes were firm and deep, as if he could see through all the fog.

Time seemed to stand still, with only the sound of their breathing mingling in the night air.

Suddenly, a commotion shattered the tranquility. A squad of soldiers appeared in their line of sight, torches in hand, searching for something.

Ah Qi gripped Xu Yuehuai's hand tightly, signaling her to be quiet. Their breathing became cautious, as if afraid of being discovered by the soldiers.

As the soldiers gradually disappeared into the distance, Aqi and Xu Yuehuai breathed a sigh of relief. Xu Yuehuai was filled with gratitude; she knew that all of this was thanks to Aqi's safety.

As night deepened, Aqi led Xu Yuehuai away from the wilderness to find a safe place to stay.

In the mountains and forests, all was quiet, with only the sound of the wind and the rustling of leaves.

Under the moonlight, they discovered a simple dwelling hidden in a thatched hut.

Ah Qi carefully pushed open the door. The room was simple but clean, enough for them to rest in peace for the time being.

The other Moon Guards stood guard outside, vigilantly observing their surroundings to prevent any unforeseen events. Inside, A-Qi and Xu Yuehuai lit a fire, the flickering flames illuminating their weary faces.

Ah Qi took meticulous care of Xu Yuehuai, his eyes revealing deep concern and dependence.

That night, they relied on each other for survival, temporarily forgetting the conflicts and dangers of the outside world.

However, the next morning, when sunlight streamed into the thatched hut through the cracks, Xu Yuehuai sensed something was amiss.

She opened her eyes and found that Ah Qi had already gotten up and was watching the door warily. An uneasy feeling spread in the air, making Xu Yuehuai's heart tighten as well.

The two cautiously stepped out of the hut, only to find themselves surrounded by a large number of soldiers. The vast crowd stood solemnly in the morning light, their armor and spears gleaming coldly in the sunlight.

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank; she knew they had been discovered.

Ah Qi gripped his weapon tightly, his eyes sharp as knives. He signaled to the Moon Guards to prepare for battle, ready to break through the encirclement at any moment.

Surprisingly, the soldiers did not launch an attack immediately, but instead sent one of them forward.

The man was dressed in exquisite iron armor, with a resolute face and piercing eyes.

He bowed respectfully to Aqi and Xu Yuehuai, his tone revealing a hint of respect, "Young Master Beiye, Miss Yue, I have come here on the orders of the General to negotiate with you."

Ah Qi and Xu Yuehuai exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with doubt. The situation was complex and they had to proceed with caution.

Ah Qi put down his weapon, signaled the Moon Guards to remain vigilant, and then followed the envoy with Xu Yuehuai.

They were led to a makeshift tent containing a long table and several cushions. The envoy invited them to sit, then sat down himself at the table. Tea and snacks were laid out on the table, but no one touched them.

"Young Master Bei Ye, Miss Yue, I am aware of your recent plans. The General greatly admires you and has specially sent me to invite you to the camp for a discussion," the envoy said bluntly.

Ah Qi and Xu Yuehuai exchanged a glance, each lost in their own thoughts. They were currently at a disadvantage; if they could find a breakthrough through negotiations, they might be able to turn the tide.

Finally, Ah Qi nodded. "Alright, we will go with you to see the general. But we must bring our own guards."

The envoy smiled slightly, "Of course."

The group arrived outside the camp and were led into a tent. Soldiers moved about inside the camp, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere.

Waiting inside the tent was a middle-aged general, dressed in golden armor, looking imposing.

He rose to greet Aqi and Xu Yuehuai, and personally poured them tea. "Young Master Beiye, Miss Yue, please sit down," the general said with a smile. "I learned early on that Princess Chuchu's son had come to Mingyue Kingdom, but I haven't had a chance to meet him. I didn't expect to run into him today. Seeing that you two are so young, I am truly surprised."

Aqi and Xu Yuehuai remained vigilant, knowing this meeting was far from simple. They kept a close eye on their surroundings, preparing for any unforeseen circumstances.

The general took a sip of tea and continued, "To be honest, I invited you here today to persuade you. The court is currently in a complex and intertwined power structure, and with your small force, it is simply impossible for you to seize the throne."
