The power of gentleness

The power of gentleness

An alien species appeared in the Rugong Xingyuan and directly attacked the Zerg Queen. This was undoubtedly a major event that shocked the entire Zerg race.

The entire San José Palace, along with the five star chains surrounding it, was placed under martial law. Classes at the San José Palace Academy were suspended, and students were not allowed to return home, confined to their dormitories. Discussion of the incident in public or on social media was prohibited.

The recovery team and the investigation team simultaneously entered the Rugong Xingyuan. Because the remains and blood of the aliens would pollute the environment, the recovery team removed all blood-stained ground at the Rugong Xingyuan. Streetlights were replaced, vegetation was cleared, and the exterior walls of the buildings underwent several disinfection processes before being repainted. All students, faculty, security personnel, and Tiger Guards who had witnessed the aliens were tested for mental stability. The good news was that all the insects that had been bathed in the insect mother's mental energy had their mental powers remarkably stable.

The investigation team combed through all of Meyer's connections. When the armed investigation team kicked down the door of Meyer's house, they were shocked to find that all the insects in the house had died.

Worms that have come into contact with foreign blood must be isolated and observed for three days, but the mother worm can be an exception.

But after learning about Meyer's secret filming, the fabricated and then reversed public opinion, and Gabriel and Seville's joint instigation of the post on the forum that pointed at the stink bug tribe, Alyssa was silent for a long time, and then said that she would also stay at the quarantine observation point for the next three days.

Gabriel tried to dissuade her, but Alyssa was adamant. It was the first time the insects of the Garden Palace had witnessed such a tense atmosphere between the Chief Chamberlain and the Worm Queen. Finally, Gabriel, unable to persuade the Worm Queen, ordered the Chamberlains to prepare their belongings and send the Worm Queen to quarantine.

But Alyssa only brought a pineapple and a few simple changes of clothes.

During these three days, the only one who could see the worm mother was Vio, who was responsible for checking her body.

"Your Highness..." Vio spoke cautiously, trying to find a way to start the conversation. For the past few days, Alyssa had shut down her communication with the intelligent brain and was frantically browsing the Star Network under Pineapple's guidance. Vio didn't know what Alyssa was looking at, but he felt that something was wrong with the state of the Worm Queen.

Seville, the most skilled at coaxing the Worm Mother, and Gabriel, the one she relied on most, were both blocked from the Worm Mother's messages. Since they were in quarantine, the fewer Worm Mothers they could interact with, the better. As the sole link between the now extremely gloomy Garden Palace and the taciturn Worm Mother, Vio was under immense pressure.

"Vio." Alyssa rarely spoke, and Vio was about to be happy, but the Worm Mother asked him a question that he didn't know how to answer. "I saw on the news that Mayer's family members are all dead, right?"

Vio opened and closed his mouth several times but no sound came out. Alyssa said, "Don't lie to me, I can sense it."

Vio's heart hardened. "Yes, Her Majesty Alyssa. When the investigation team broke into Meyer's house, they found Meyer's father and six servants, all of whom were dead. Meyer was an only child; his mother had passed away long ago. A suicide note was found on his father's desk. The note stated that Meyer had degenerated into an alien species, bringing shame to the family and causing him to feel guilty... guilty towards Her Majesty the Insect Mother, so he committed suicide."

“…Is it because of me?”

"How could it possibly be because of you!" Vio hurriedly tried to make excuses, deeply regretting revealing the contents of the suicide note to Alyssa. "We performed autopsies on Mayer's father and servants and discovered that they had all used large amounts of virgin honey. This matter is still under investigation..."

"Meyer also used the first honey," Alyssa said. "I saw it in his spiritual world."

"Yes, that's what the investigation team guessed. It doesn't make sense that he's the only one in the family who doesn't need it..."

"I wonder if it was Chumi who caused Mayer's deterioration?"

Vio's compound eyes widened. "First Honey will... cause degeneration? Isn't this stuff said to be a mental soothing agent? It's only because it's addictive that Her Majesty Aimia banned it. But generally speaking, First Honey can indeed calm restless insects..."

Alyssa gave Vio a sad look and said, "Is the deterioration of the Zerg due to the collapse of their spiritual world?"

"In Mayer's spiritual world, I saw that the primordial honey had overwhelmed his spiritual world. His world was like a shattered bowl, and his spiritual anchor was about to be washed away by the flowing primordial honey."

"Drake's mental world was also filled with a large amount of primordial honey. The primordial honey didn't soothe his spirit; it simply suppressed Drake's feelings. Those negative feelings and restless anger, unable to be vented, were constantly wrapped in the primordial honey and condensed in Drake's world."

Vio took a moment to digest Alyssa's words. "...Only the insect mother and her mutually recognized partner can enter the insect's spiritual world! We, we never knew that the spiritual world of an insect that has used virgin honey is like this!"

He turned around a few times. "So... so...! I have to contact the recovery team immediately and have them test the alien... no, Meyer's body. Oh, and there's the Third Legion! We can cooperate with the Third Legion and see if we can capture a few aliens alive! Also, we have to try the primordial honey on the unintelligent protozoa..."

After Vio calmed down, he gave Alyssa a standard and respectful salute: "Thank you very much, Your Majesty Alyssa. You have provided us with a brand new research direction."

"Vio."

"Your Majesty Alyssa, please give your orders."

"Is there something wrong with my body?"

This question stumped Vio again. He felt like the carapace on his back was about to stand up.

"I remember you gave me a full physical examination when you first rescued me. Where's the report? I want to see it."

Vio's shell really stood up: Her Majesty Alyssa is going to school and it's not easy to fool her!

After Mayer's death, Her Majesty Alyssa seemed to have shed her innocent youthful image overnight. Vio frantically cried out for help, hoping that the eloquent Sewell would descend upon him and help him smooth things over.

Unfortunately, the Primordial Worm Queen didn't hear Vio's wish. Alyssa scrolled through the medical report Vio had sent to her computer, page by page. Vio felt as if Alyssa's graceful page-turning movements were tightening the noose around his neck.

Alyssa calmly read all the reports and then said, “Is my quarantine period almost over?”

Vio was stunned for a moment, then replied, "Yes, Your Majesty Alyssa, in two weeks, your quarantine time will have met the requirement."

Alyssa nodded: “Yeah. Get ready, we can go back to the Garden Palace.”

Vio nodded his head, then thought:

...Her Majesty Alyssa took the initiative to ask for isolation. Could it be that she wanted to avoid Seville and Gabriel and interrogate him?

To welcome the Insect Queen back from quarantine, the Garden Palace held its utmost festivities. Gabriel led all the Garden Palace staff, who lined up on both sides of the aisle to greet her. A long line stretched from the Palace gates, across the entire garden, all the way to the reception hall.

Gabrielle felt like she was living in a year after being separated from the Worm Mother for three days. She expected Alyssa to laugh and call out "Mammy" and throw herself into her arms, as she did every time after school, but she didn't.

She didn't even shyly say "No need to salute me like that" to the insects that saluted her respectfully as she had done in the past. Like a true king, she walked calmly through this tunnel made of insects with her head held high and her eyes straight ahead.

Gabriel lowered her head and followed Alyssa into the reception hall. She hoped that Alyssa would look back at her, but Alyssa did not.

She only paused briefly in the reception hall, which had eighteen arched, carved French windows that were as tall as three stories, and said to all the insects, "I'm tired and need to rest. Everyone, please disperse."

Seeing Gabriel about to catch up, she added, "No need to wait."

Gabriel lay on the bed in his bedroom, staring at the bed curtains above his head with his eyes open.

She can't sleep.

Her Majesty Alyssa must hate her.

Because of the dead bug, Her Majesty Alyssa felt that she was unscrupulous and acted without considering the consequences.

She is not wrong.

Her Majesty Alyssa was too innocent and kindhearted. The weight of a bug's life had troubled her for so long. She had no idea what kind of ugly political manipulation was going on behind that bug.

That bug... He was indeed ruthless. He cut off his limbs to survive cleanly and neatly, without leaving any clues that could point to him.

But it didn't matter. She had seen through his true colors. From now on, she would no longer be deceived by him. They would engage in a brutal battle on an invisible chessboard.

Her Majesty Alyssa didn't need to know any of this. She could always be the carefree Worm Queen in her pure white world. She would keep all those wind, frost, and swords out of Her Majesty Alyssa's world, even if it meant using any means necessary.

Even if... Her Majesty Alyssa hates her for this.

Yes, she is not wrong.

Gabrielle was so distressed that her blood flowed poorly. She curled herself up, and the scraping sound of her appendages rubbing against each other began again. She thought she was probably just too upset and had an illusion. Why was there a hint of sweet insect mother pheromone in the air?

With a click, the door opened and two faint blue lights floated in. Gabriel stood up in shock. This... This is Her Majesty Alyssa's robotic pet Pineapple!

Following behind Pineapple was the insect mother wearing a white nightgown and barefoot.

"Your Highness!" Gabriel immediately threw back the quilt and jumped out of bed. "You! Why aren't you wearing shoes?"

She took a few steps and then remembered something. She bowed hurriedly and said, "Your Highness, please allow me to put on your shoes..."

But Alyssa threw herself into her arms, and her small body stopped Gabriel’s bent waist: “Mammy, I want to sleep with you tonight.”

Gabriel instantly felt a layer of moisture moistening her eyes. She said that this was against the rules, but her hands uncontrollably picked up Alyssa and wrapped her appendages around her cold little feet.

"Mammy, don't lie to me. You can't lie to me. You're very tired and very hard-working, right?"

"Because you had to handle all those complicated government affairs on my behalf, and you didn't know who to trust. You've been running around lobbying for my rescue, and after you came back, you were overwhelmed by the public controversy caused by my appearance and my physical condition. You've endured so much, but you've kept it all to yourself, hiding it from me."

"Your health...? Who informed you of your health... Vio!"

"Mammy, don't be angry with him. I was the one who forced him to tell me. I've been browsing the Star Network these days and have found out a lot of things you didn't tell me."

Alyssa was held in Gabriel’s arms, holding Gabriel’s face with her hands, and her turquoise eyes looked at Gabriel seriously: “Mammy, don’t worry about me, I can bear it.”

"After all, I am the Worm Queen."

"I've ignored you these past few days, I hope you don't mind, Mammy. Because from today on, I'm going to display the majesty of a Worm Queen."

"For those complicated and difficult tasks, you can tell me and I'll do them. I'll shoulder the burden. I'm the Worm Queen, and some things will be more legitimate if I do them."

"I have enjoyed the Zerg's offerings, so I must shoulder the responsibilities of a Zerg Queen. So far, I haven't done enough."

Alyssa gently wiped away Gabriel's tears, which were flowing like a flood. "From now on, I can only secretly act like a spoiled child with Mammy behind everyone's back."

"Her Majesty Alyssa..."

That night, Gabriel slept soundly, hugging the warm and soft insect mother.

In her blurred consciousness, she felt Alyssa's shallow breathing, and there was only one thought in her hazy mind.

That's great. That's great.

Her Majesty, Alyssa, is a worm queen with gentle power.
