Chapter 2 You Are My Chosen Dinner

Chapter 2 You Are My Chosen Dinner

It seemed like she had a very long dream. Luo Youyou dreamed that Jing Yan was holding her and flying in the dark blue night sky. The breeze blew the remaining clouds past her. At the end of the sky was a crimson moon, which added a touch of rich color to the night like a huge disc.

Nestled in Jing Yan's arms, sniffing his unique, strange metallic scent mixed with the fragrance of unknown flowers, Luo Youyou didn't feel nauseous. Instead, she felt inexplicably at ease, like a family member she hadn't seen in a long time, without a trace of distracting thoughts...

In the hazy state, Mu Yaxi's eyes, which were walnut-shaped from crying, Fang Ziyu's twisted brows, Ni Tiantian's tightly pursed lips, and Yang Chuan's anxious face, overlapped and intertwined with each other, making Luo Youyou dazzled, but Jing Yan was the only one missing.

"Where's Jing Yan?" Luo Youyou sat up with a cry, his eyes full of self-blame and fear, his voice trembling uncontrollably.

"He's fine!" Mu Yaxi burst into laughter and slapped Luo Youyou's shoulder hard, "You still have the mind to care about others!"

"How could... I'm fine?" Luo Youyou clearly remembered that she had hit the truck at 200 miles per hour. She also clearly remembered the excruciating pain that radiated from her body before she fainted. The pain felt like it was tearing through her bones and blood, piercing her heart and lungs. And now...

Luo Youyou frantically lowered her head and examined her entire body, fearing she might be missing a part. That would be the end of her life! But there was nothing, not even a scratch, save for a slight pain in her neck. She touched it, and it was smooth, yet for some reason it stung. Japanese car exteriors were notoriously unreliable. Even if Yang Chuan had modified it, it wouldn't have survived such a major accident unscathed. She never believed that fate would be so kind to her.

Besides this, there seemed to be a mysterious force surging and boiling deep within the body, as if trying to break free from some shackles and be reborn...

"Youyou, don't worry. Jing Yan said he was sleepy and wanted to go back to sleep. Don't worry! Yang Chuan's car has good performance. That little accident will be fine!" Mu Yaxi proudly praised Yang Chuan's car, as if the car was his own, and patted his chest to make a promise.

"Minor accident?" Luo Youyou asked doubtfully. If a collision with a truck at 200 miles per hour could be considered a minor accident, then in their eyes, only a death could be considered a major accident? "Then why are you crying?"

"Ya Xi saw that you were frightened and fainted for so long, and cried all night!" Ni Tiantian said sourly, his mouth pouting so much that two oil bottles could be hung on it.

A warm current flowed through Luo Youyou's body. She grabbed Mu Yaxi's hand and held it tightly...

Over the next few days, Luo Youyou tried to find Jing Yan's whereabouts, but Pingqu College was not a big place, and at least it could accommodate thousands of people. How could he find him? No one knew his contact information, and no one was even sure if he was a student at Pingqu College.

A man with such extraordinary looks as Jing Yan, if he were a student at Pingqu College, would have become the focus of the entire school as soon as he entered. But he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Luo Youyou was even a little confused. Did this person... really exist? Even the pain in her neck disappeared, as if this person had only appeared in a dream.

Just when Luo Youyou was about to give up, Jing Yan reappeared under the tall, lush poplar tree, where she had first met him. His tall body lazily leaned against the trunk, as if waiting for someone.

Luo Youyou's pace gradually slowed down. She wanted to go over, but she was afraid of being blatantly ignored like last time. The hurt to her self-esteem would hurt her internal organs and destroy her self-confidence.

She lowered her head and quickened her pace, wanting to pass him by in a hurry. However, a voice as deep and mysterious as the sea pierced her eardrums, calling her name...

"Youyou!" Seeing that Luo Youyou didn't answer, Jing Yan called again, and then pulled Luo Youyou back to her senses.

"Hi, long time no see!" Luo Youyou tried her best to make her smile look natural, but her tense facial muscles still betrayed her nervousness at the moment.

"I have a question for you!" The two people said in unison, and then smiled at each other, which eased Luo Youyou's mood.

"Let's find a place to sit down!" Jing Yan suggested.

"good!"

Luo Youyou brought Jing Yan to a western restaurant not far from Pingqu College. The environment here was elegant and most importantly, quiet. She needed to know the truth. Those doubts haunted her like nightmares every day, and like seedlings that had taken root, they grew bigger and bigger. The more she didn't want to think about it, the more turbulent her dreams became at night, reminding her all the time of that accident. No, of course, she was not referring to the car accident, but why she was unharmed.

"What do you want to eat? I'll treat you!" Luo Youyou pushed the menu in front of Jing Yan, and Jing Yan politely pushed the menu back, "I'm not hungry, you eat it."

Luo Youyou looked at him in confusion, then remembered that it was already very late and she had missed dinner because she was too preoccupied.

Luo Youyou didn't insist anymore, took the menu and casually ordered a glass of juice and a plate of pasta.

Jing Yan had been sitting opposite her and observing her carefully. Finally, he found that she had really ordered the food properly, and the doubts in his eyes became even heavier.

"What are you?" Jing Yan finally couldn't help but ask after the waiter walked away with the menu.

Luo Youyou stared at him with wide eyes, because this was what she wanted to ask.

Seeing the doubt in Luo Youyou's eyes, which was even thicker than his own, Jing Yan finally gave in. It seemed that she herself didn't know. For so many years, he hadn't felt pain, but this time, this excruciating pain had lasted for so many days. It seemed that he would never find the answer.
