Chapter 3: Survival from a Desperate Situation

The momentary weightlessness made Luo Youyou's heart tighten suddenly, and her screams were drowned out by the whistling wind in her ears. Luo Youyou fell rapidly, struggling desperately with her hands, but all she could grab was cold air. Despair struck her heart, and she gave up struggling, allowing her body to free fall in mid-air. Many important moments of her life emerged in her mind, like a sped-up movie, which she wanted to play out in the last few seconds of her life. The camera finally froze on Luo Yun's face, which was always full of sadness and melancholy.

How could I die like this before I could even unravel the secret of your sadness and sorrow!

Luo Youyou's reluctance to leave her mother filled her heart with determination. Suddenly, she felt that the mysterious power in her body broke through layers of shackles and surged out, like a blood vessel with a severed artery, and it was unstoppable. She suddenly felt full of strength and even her thoughts were no longer confused.

Just as her body was about to make close contact with the ground, Luo Youyou stretched out her arms, exerted force, and firmly supported herself on the ground. There was a bang beside her, and Jing Yan's feet appeared in her sight.

A surge of anger gushed out, Luo Youyou stood up, the raging rage in her eyes seemed to devour everything around her, and she pushed Jing Yan hard. In an instant, it was as if her hands were possessed by something, full of strength, and she pushed him out, hitting him into the street lamp. The lamppost was as fragile as paper and fell down.

Luo Youyou looked at her hands in disbelief, then at the mess in front of her. Her anger was replaced by clouds of doubt, and she was so shocked that she couldn't recover for a long time.

Jing Yan stood up with one hand, but found it a bit strenuous. Even when fighting hunters before, he had never felt any strain from such a collision. But what surprised him most was not this, but the fact that he didn't know if it was an illusion, but he saw Luo Youyou in anger. A flash of blood-red flashed in her dark eyes, a fleeting flash, like a reflection of a red light.

Red-eyed vampires were just a legend in the world of vampires. No one had ever seen one. Legend had it that it was the color of the first generation of vampires, their ancestor, Cain, known as the Blood Father, and his grandsons. Even the fourth generation of vampires were green or some other color, not to mention the girl in front of him who wasn't even a vampire! Jing Yan laughed at himself. He must have seen it wrong. Although Luo Youyou had abilities similar to those of a vampire, she was definitely not a vampire. She could walk in the sun and eat human food. Her body had a temperature that he envied, but her blood was poisonous! If a vampire wanted to suck her blood to improve his abilities, then he would definitely be courting his own destruction. Jing Yan still felt a lingering fear when he thought of the pain.

Luo Youyou stared at her hands in a daze, faintly feeling a force surging out bit by bit from somewhere deep in her body, starting from her hands and spreading to her whole body. Her ankles were itchy, and she squatted down and scratched them a few times, but the itchiness became even worse. She was about to increase her strength when a white light suddenly appeared at her ankles, a faint halo covering her entire ankle. In the halo was a tiny, bright white light, which moved slowly in the halo like the tentacles of some animal, as if outlining a totem.

Luo Youyou felt an unbearable itch on her ankle at the moment and fell to the ground. She did not bother to explore this strange phenomenon and just wanted to relieve the pain brought by the numbness and itching. However, before her hand got close to the halo, she was knocked away by another white light shot out from it and disappeared. However, the beam of light like a paintbrush was still outlining in an orderly manner.

Jing Yan walked over in amazement, his eyes fixed on her ankles, afraid of missing any details. It was really beautiful. He had lived for more than two hundred years and had never seen such a strange sight. It was beyond the cognition of humans and even vampires.

The bright white beam of light suddenly disappeared, and the white halo surrounding it also gradually dissipated. Suddenly, a gorgeous red flower appeared at the ankle, spreading its tentacles in all directions. The delicate red color and the outstretched petals were so enchanting that it seemed to contain a power that could captivate people.

"What is this!" Luo Youyou was shocked and rubbed it with her hands, but the bright red flower seemed to be embedded in the skin, or even growing out of the body.

Jing Yan crouched beside Luo Youyou in astonishment, gazing intently at the flower. It was the sacred flower of the vampire race. He sniffed it, and sure enough, a faint fragrance emanated from Luo Youyou. It gave him a strong whiff of death and deep fear, a scent that made him tremble slightly. There was also a sense of sacred, inviolable majesty. This scent was unlike any other vampire scent; even the elders only smelled of blood roses.

"Manjushage," Jing Yan murmured, but he didn't dare to get close, as if the flower would devour him if he got close. Before he could take a closer look, a blinding white light suddenly flashed across Luo Youyou's ankle. When the light faded, the area became smooth and white again. The manjushage disappeared, and the strange fragrance vanished with it.

"No...it's gone..." Luo Youyou stared at her ankle in surprise with her deep black eyes. Seeing that the flower was gone, she felt a lot more relieved. When the flower appeared, Luo Youyou clearly felt a dark force eroding her heart. It was as if a black shadow suddenly appeared in her heart, slowly growing bigger, making her consciousness a little dazed. Just when she felt that she was about to be unable to resist the black shadow, the flower suddenly disappeared, and the black shadow also disappeared, making her breathe a sigh of relief.

"What did you say this was just now? What Man, what Hua?" Luo Youyou asked Jing Yan.

"Manjushage," Jing Yan replied, and then added, "The sacred flower of the vampire clan."
