The snow leopard's tail can be used to keep warm when sleeping, or as a cushion under the body. However, Los always put his tail on Xu Nian to keep him warm, so Xu Nian could place his own tail anywhere. Now that Los is not here, Xu Nian can only use his own tail.

The new den was less than five meters away from where Xu Nian slept, but it was much higher up, near the top of the mountain. The closer you get to the top, the steeper the rock face becomes. Normally, a snow leopard would have to be careful walking this way, let alone Xu Nian, who is afraid of heights.

Los left just after dawn, went out to hunt a marmot and came back.
