"crow!"

In her desperation, Yun Jin shouted towards the depths of the warehouse.

Immediately afterwards, they heard a chilling hissing sound coming from there, and the image of the golden python immediately flashed into Yun Jin's mind!

not good!

Using her memory and the direction of the sound, Yun Jin located the flight case high up.

She nimbly climbed the rickety mountain of cardboard boxes in a few quick steps. Sure enough, there were animals struggling inside the crates. Without hesitation, Yun Jin suddenly swerved to the side and crashed into them.

"Thump!!!"

After a loud crash, the flight case crashed to the ground and shattered into pieces. A large snake rolled out of it, its tail still tightly wrapped around the struggling crow!

Polly quickly jumped off the box, trembling as she stood in front of the golden python, her back arched, baring her teeth at him and growling threateningly, "Let go of that crow!"

Yun Jin took a closer look and was shocked. The golden python's body had many wounds of varying depths, its scales were damaged in many places, and it was even smaller than before.

"So it's you..." The golden python struggled to its feet, looking down at them with the arrogance of a cold-blooded animal despite its disheveled state, its scarlet forked tongue flicking out. "What are you doing here? Bringing me food? It's not even enough to fill my teeth."

Yun Jin didn't speak. She quietly approached the golden python's tail and desperately tried to signal to Bao Li to attract the python's attention.

Polly immediately understood, and while sharpening her claws, she threatened, "Then what are you doing here? Hibernating early? Where's your master? Why doesn't he want you anymore? Is it because you're too useless?"

A glint of hatred flashed in the golden python's eyes. He roared angrily, "That damned human deserves to die out there! He brought me from my hometown to this godforsaken place and locked me in this tiny cage. How hateful! I almost... snapped his neck!"

He became more and more agitated as he spoke, cursing loudly while vigorously shaking his tail. The crow, which was tightly entangled, was flung from left to right and slammed to the ground with a dull thud.

Now!

Seizing the opportunity, Yun Jin lunged forward and bit down hard on the wound on his tail.

"Hiss—" He cried out in pain, his body swaying violently. The binding force instantly loosened, and Yun Jin took the opportunity to shield the dying crow beneath her.

"It's you again, you damned ugly cat!" The golden python was completely enraged and turned to charge at Yun Jin, but Yun Jin was prepared and easily dodged to the side.

The golden python crashed directly into several cardboard boxes, which rolled off and piled up on its body like a small mountain.

"Here! Yun Jin! Quick!" At this moment, Bao Li climbed back to the top of the cardboard box mountain and stood at the ventilation shaft, anxiously calling out to Yun Jin.

Yun Jin didn't dare to delay. She picked up the crow in her beak, used her hind legs to propel herself up the cardboard box mountain again, and followed Bao Li into the pitch-black ventilation duct. Behind them came the angry crashing and hissing of the golden python.

Just as the golden python raised its head, about to climb up the cardboard box, it came face to face with the brocade that was right next to it!

"Clang!"

The warehouse door was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and two staff members stood in the doorway. The incandescent lights in the corridor shone into the warehouse through the open door, illuminating the golden python.

His long body jolted suddenly, and he shrank to one side, curling up into a ball, burying his head deep into his body, his whole body trembling.

When the two staff members came forward, Yun Jin saw that the golden python seemed to want to escape, but one of the staff members stepped on the middle of her body.

"Damn it, how did this thing get out?" the staff member who was stepping on the snake cursed.

Another person strode forward, roughly grabbed the golden python's body, and practically shoved it back into the cramped flight case.

The man slammed the case door shut with a "bang!" but he was still not satisfied, so he kicked the flight case hard.

"I was just about to go to sleep when I got scared out of my wits! How come this thing is still alive!"

Yun Jin clenched her claws in the shadows.

After the two men left, the crow clutched its injured wing, its eyes brimming with tears, and cried out, "Caw! It's all over! My wing is broken, I'm going to die! I'm so young!"

Polly walked over speechlessly, examined his wound with her nose, and said disdainfully, "Shut up, you're not broken. It's just a muscle strain and a little hair loss. You won't die. It's just a minor injury. You'll be fine after you go back and rest."

Upon hearing this, the crow, which had been acting like a drama queen, immediately relaxed, and its mournful cries turned into soft whimpers.

“Crow,” Yun Jin looked at him worriedly, “can you still fly? Why don’t you go back to Yun Chen’s place and wait for us?”

The crow tried to flap its wings, immediately wincing in pain, and hung its head dejectedly.

Okay... then be careful, I'll go keep watch for you."

After saying that, he forced himself to save face and limped out.

Yun Jin looked at his comical back and shook her head helplessly. Without one person, the difficulty would increase significantly.

Through the louvered window of the ventilation duct, she felt a little scared, but she still wanted to talk to the golden python.

She jumped off the cardboard boxes and went to the airline crate.

Before she could even speak, the golden python's curses came from inside the box: "Get out, you ugly cat! Are you here to laugh at me? You're so smug to see me locked up here."

Yun Jin ignored him and opened the flight case with a "snap".

An indescribable stench assaulted her senses. By the dim moonlight, she could see that the environment inside was extremely filthy. Molting skin, feces, and food scraps were all piled together. The golden python was coiled among the filth, its golden vertical pupils filled with rage.

"Why...why are you here?" Yun Jin asked, covering her nose with her paw. "And what happened to your injuries?"

The golden python stared intently at Yun Jin for a long time before finally saying in a low voice, "I don't know... I was brought here to film a few damn shows, and then... I was just dumped here, and nobody has taken care of me since."

"Where is your master? Doesn't he care about you anymore?" Yun Jin pressed.

"He is not my master!" The golden python's voice suddenly rose, filled with disgust. "He is a damned human..."

Yun Jin couldn't discern any change in the snake's expression, but she could sense a hint of sadness in his tone.

"When I last met you... you said you wanted to go home, right?" Yun Jin asked softly.

A silence fell over the flight case.

After a long while, a very soft "...yes" was heard.

Upon hearing this answer, Yun Jin smiled slightly and proposed a deal: "You do me a favor, and in return, I'll find a way to take you home, how about it?"

The golden python raised its head, scrutinizing Yun Jin with its golden vertical pupils: "Fine, if you're lying..."

He clenched his muscles menacingly: "I'll strangle you!"

“Of course,” Yun Jin said, unafraid of his threat, as she approached the flight case and told him about the plan.

The golden python listened quietly, nodding occasionally.

After the plan was successfully communicated, the golden python slowly crawled out of the carrier, its long body stretching out in the moonlight. Although it looked disheveled, it still carried the pride of a cold-blooded animal as it followed behind Yun Jin.

Baoli, who had been watching the whole thing from the sidelines, looked at the scene in disbelief, her small eyes filled with great confusion. Yun Jin simply nodded slightly.

Thus, despite the crow's withdrawal due to injury, their animal team not only did not suffer any losses, but also welcomed a new member.

The ventilation duct was narrow, dark, and dustier than the warehouse, making for a terrible environment. With her petite frame, Bao Li led the way, while Yun Jin and the Golden Python struggled to follow behind.

"Wait! Not here." Bao Li suddenly stopped, and Yun Jin, who was following behind her, was caught off guard and bumped into her furry butt, almost knocking Bao Li off.

"I'm sorry," Yun Jin apologized as she hurriedly helped her up.

"Tsk! Is this dog even any good?" The golden python coiled behind them flicked its tail impatiently. "How many times has this led us astray? Are we going in circles here?"

"You...!" Bao Li was furious but dared not speak. If it weren't for the size of the golden python, she would have already started cursing.

"Don't fight, Golden Python!" Yun Jin quickly spoke up to stop them and maintain order in the team, as infighting in this place was too dangerous.

Just then, they suddenly heard a loud conversation coming from the room directly below, which was particularly clear in the quiet pipes.

The cat, the dog, and the snake immediately held their breath, exchanged glances, and cautiously approached the ventilation opening above the room.

Yun Jin could tell that one of them was Liu Li's voice.

A middle-aged man who sounded like he had a large belly was angrily saying, "That woman named Yun something, how dare she bring a lawyer here? Do they want to file a lawsuit?"

Then came Liu Li's voice: "President Wang, please calm down. After all... her pet died, and she's heartbroken. It's only natural for her to want an explanation..."

"Hmph! Other people's pets don't die like this, is her pet the most precious thing?" The middle-aged man, referred to as Boss Wang, got angrier and angrier, banging his hand on the table.

Hearing this, a vein throbbed faintly on Yun Jin's forehead, and her paws clenched instinctively. Wasn't a pet's life a life too?

Although she was very angry, Yun Jin still managed to rationally pull out a small voice recorder and press the record button. These were all pieces of evidence.

"What's going on in Azores? We can't be made to take all the blame, can we?" the middle-aged man continued to ask.

“Zhang Shuo said they are still trying to figure something out, but President Wang… I think he probably wants to shift all the blame to Shen Yi’an, but I think that’s too risky.” Liu Li’s voice sounded hesitant.

"Why? Isn't it normal to find someone to take the blame?" the middle-aged man asked.

“How could one person possibly handle such a huge accident?” Liu Li said, pausing for a moment. “Although Zhang Shuo promised that there wouldn’t be any repercussions for the production team, he himself is currently in dire straits. I think…”

"Hmph! Since that's the case, to be on the safe side, let's go all the way and implicate Zhang Shuo and Shen Yi'an, let them fight like dogs, that way the public's attention will be on them." The middle-aged man chuckled sinisterly.

Inside the ventilation duct, Yun Jin and Bao Li exchanged a shocked glance, their eyes both conveying the message, "Humans are truly terrifying."

“By the way! Liu Li, make sure you keep those materials Zhang Shuo gave you safe! We must act before them and seize the initiative,” the middle-aged man said. “I’ll call the lawyer now.”

"Okay, I'll go get the documents now." Liu Li's voice gradually faded into the distance.

Yun Jin immediately put away the recorder and, without daring to delay, followed Liu Li's footsteps, passing through the endless ventilation ducts and turning several corners before finally catching up with her.

Through the gaps in the ventilation duct grilles, they saw Liu Li hurriedly take a thick stack of documents from her desk drawer, and then she took a USB drive from the safe next to her.

Yun Jin exchanged a glance with them—now!

"Snap—"

The ventilation duct's grille suddenly shattered, and the golden python slammed heavily onto Liu Li's desk, sweeping the computer off the desk with its tail.

"Ah—" Liu Li was so frightened by the giant snake that suddenly fell from the sky that she screamed and froze on the spot.

Taking advantage of the fact that the golden python had distracted Liu Li, Yun Jin made a clear move and rushed straight for the USB drive that had rolled to the ground, while Bao Li rushed toward the file bag that Liu Li was clutching tightly.

"Help! Snake! There's a snake! No... there's a dog, and... a cat!" Liu Li shouted incoherently, the scene before her clearly beyond her comprehension.

Just as Yun Jin caught the USB drive in her mouth, Bao Li leaped up like lightning and bit Liu Li's wrist. The excruciating pain caused her to lose her balance and fall to the ground, the thick folder of documents flying out of her hand.

"Quick, we've got it, let's go!" Yun Jin stuffed the USB drive into her inner pocket and pointed it towards the ventilation duct.

However, with a loud bang, the office door was pushed open, and a group of staff members wielding ropes and wooden sticks surged in like a tide, blocking their way.

The burly man at the head of the group immediately spotted Polly dragging the file bag. He suddenly extended the riot fork in his hand and clamped it tightly around her throat. Polly was forced to release her grip, and the file bag slipped to the ground.

On the other side, the golden python, which had originally looked fierce, began to tremble when it saw the staff members who often abused it in the crowd.

“It’s over…” A feeling of despair welled up in Yun Jin’s heart. Her eyes swept across the messy office and finally settled on the red fire extinguisher in the corner.

A staff member's large hand was reaching for her, but Yun Jin dodged past him, scrambling forward to forcefully unscrew the safety pin and aim the nozzle at the chaotic crowd.

"puff--"

A large amount of white powder instantly engulfed the entire room. Opening one's eyes, all one could see was a vast expanse of white, and the powder choked one's nose, causing one to retreat repeatedly.

"Quick! Hold your breath, ventilation ducts!" he shouted through the white mist.

They groped their way through the air, pulling at each other, leaving the chaos and curses far behind. They crawled quickly along the ventilation ducts, rushed out of the building, and plunged into Yun Chen's car, which was parked nearby.

"Drive!" Yun Jin practically threw herself into the back seat of the car.

Yun Chen, who was in the driver's seat, looked back and saw a large snake instantly crawl into the car. Yun Chen almost jumped out of his seat, and his voice changed: "W-how come there's another snake!"

"Never mind that, let's go!" Yun Jin slammed the car door shut.

Suppressing his fear, Yun Chen floored the accelerator, and the car sped off, leaving those who tried to chase after it far behind, slowly merging into the nighttime traffic.
