Human way

Human way

An image involuntarily popped into Shen Yi'an's mind: Yun Jin had a pair of fluffy cat ears, but the sides of her head were bald...

He suddenly felt a chill!

"Uh...no need! Really, no need!" Shen Yi'an quickly waved his hand, looking frightened. "I was just mentioning it casually. If it really disappeared, it would look...quite scary."

"Hmph, you were the one who said that first." Yun Jin rolled her eyes at him, and at the same time, she quickly slapped away Shen Yi'an's restless hand.

"What an amazing body structure!" Shen Yi'an rubbed his reddened hand and gave a thumbs up in admiration.

Yun Jin ignored him and turned her gaze to the courtyard. Looking at the distant mountains, she really wanted to stay in the forest!

Faced with a mountain of problems, the cat had neither the ability nor the courage to solve them. All the cat wanted to do was dig a hole and bury itself to escape reality.

But reason told her that running away was shameful and useless.

As she was zoning out her thoughts and pondering why cat life was so difficult, a slight tingling sensation suddenly came from her tailbone, like a weak electric current running through her spine, causing Yun Jin to unconsciously make a strange sound.

However, she quickly covered her mouth and looked back to see that Shen Yi'an had come up to her again and was stroking her fluffy tail from top to bottom with great focus!

"Chen, Yi, An!" Yun Jin practically forced his name out of her mouth, "Don't touch me anymore!"

The innocent tail disappeared with a "whoosh," and Yun Jin quickly retracted one of her tails.

Instead of showing any apology, Shen Yi'an put his hands in his pockets and commented seriously, "Hmm, the light is smooth, the feel is nice, and the recycling speed is also very fast... It seems that Yun Jin, your body has recovered well."

Yun Jin belatedly realized, "That seems to be true."

Yun Jin held her breath and concentrated, trying to recall the feeling of complete control she had just experienced. Gradually, the space around her body began to ripple and distort, and her figure continued to shrink.

Before long, a beautiful calico cat appeared and sat upright on the sofa.

"Meow--!"

"I did it! I can control my form now!" Yun Jin felt incredibly excited as she moved her light cat body around, happily crawling around on the sofa cushions.

"That's a contribution from you, Yun Jin." Shen Yi'an looked at the fluffy little ball jumping around on the sofa and silently raised his phone.

However, as Yun Jin was running, she suddenly came to a sharp stop. She tried to concentrate and transform back into human form, but even after her face turned red, nothing happened.

She slowly turned her head to look at Shen Yi'an: "Wait, Shen Yi'an, it seems like I can't turn back into human form anymore."

Shen Yi'an slowly typed out a question mark.

After an unknown amount of time, Shen Yi'an sat on the sofa holding a calico cat that seemed to be questioning its existence. Yun Jin lay sprawled on his lap, its four paws hanging limply to the side as if boneless, its heterochromatic eyes devoid of light, as if it had lost its soul.

Shen Yi'an looked down at the "cat pancake" that looked utterly hopeless, feeling both sorry for it and amused. He reached out and pinched Yun Jin's paw pads, comforting her, "It's okay, Yun Jin, we'll take it slow."

Yun Jin let out a weak "meow," her ears drooping, too lazy to even move her tail, her voice muffled: "I was... too happy... too soon."

She had completely given up resisting Shen Yi'an and was letting him grope her all over.

The wind chimes by the door tinkled softly in the breeze.

Yun Jin's ears perked up, and she looked warily toward the doorway. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.

"Someone's coming. That aura... ah... it's Yun Chen!"

She sprang to her feet with a swift movement and excitedly directed Shen Yi'an, "Go open the door! Hurry!"

"Alright, alright." Shen Yi'an couldn't help but chuckle at Yun Jin's anxious expression. He patted her head before picking her up and going to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Yun Chen, who was holding his hand in mid-air ready to knock, was startled.

"Big sister!" She exclaimed excitedly when she saw the fluffy ball in Shen Yi'an's arms.

Yun Jin kicked off with her hind legs and jumped into Yun Chen's arms, rubbing her head against Yun Chen's chin vigorously.

"Oh my! Sis, you've recovered already? So fast!" Yun Chen exclaimed, both surprised and delighted, as she held the heavy baby Sanhua in her arms.

“Hehe,” Yun Jin smiled helplessly, “No, I can’t turn back into human form now.”

"Come in, don't stand at the door." Shen Yi'an stepped aside and gestured for them to come in.

After the three of them sat down in the living room, Yun Jin couldn't wait to paw at her younger sister: "Where's Mother? Where...did they go?"

Yun Chen shrugged and said helplessly, "My mother left the night I brought them back to the rented room, like a gust of wind, coming and going freely."

“Okay,” Yun Jin said softly, “I haven’t really talked to her much yet.”

"Don't be too discouraged, sis," Yun Chen patted her hand. "That's how Mother is, appearing and disappearing suddenly. Maybe she'll be back tomorrow."

"As for Qiqi and Crow, they volunteered to keep an eye on Qin Yi, but there's still no news from them."

When Yun Chen mentioned Qin Yi's name, Yun Jin and Shen Yi'an both paused for a moment, their expressions becoming somewhat unnatural.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Yun Chen quickly tried to smooth things over: "Oh, let's not talk about this anymore, sis. You should rest now. We can talk about her later."

Before Yun Chen could finish speaking, Shen Yi'an spoke up first: "Why don't you leave Qin Yi's matter to me? I have more experience in this area."

However, his words plunged the living room into an eerie silence.

Yun Jin and Yun Chen looked up at him almost simultaneously. Yun Chen looked shocked, while Yun Jin had an indescribable complex expression.

Shen Yi'an felt a little uneasy under their gazes, looking left and right, wondering if he had said something wrong.

A moment later, Yun Jin tugged at his trouser leg with her paw, then leaped onto the back of the sofa, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction: "Shen Yi'an, are you underestimating me? I'll handle my own affairs. Don't underestimate me, do you hear me?"

Before Shen Yi'an could recover, Yun Jin stood up and said in the tone of an elder, "Shen Yi'an, it's so impolite of you not to pour tea for the guests!"

After saying that, Yun Jin jumped off the sofa and walked towards Yun Chen without looking back.

Shen Yi'an stared at her retreating figure, paused for a moment, then smiled helplessly: "Alright, you're right, Lord Yun Jin."

He turned and went into the kitchen to prepare tea.

Seeing that Shen Yi'an had left, Yun Jin leaned close to Yun Chen's ear and whispered, "I don't want Shen Yi'an to worry about Qin Yi. He doesn't seem to be doing well."

Yun Chen nodded and lowered his voice to ask, "Sis, is it because of that trending topic? Is Shen Yi'an alright?"

Yun Jin sighed, stole a glance at Shen Yi'an's retreating figure, and said, "I don't know. He always tells only half the story, and it seems fine on the surface, but..."

Seeing that Shen Yi'an was about to turn around, Yun Jin quickened her pace: "Wait a moment, find an excuse to take me back."

"No problem." Yun Chen said, as if he had nothing to worry about.

Half an hour later, Yun Jin and the others returned to their rented room.

After closing the door, Yun Jin took a deep breath and looked at Yun Chen, saying, "Yun Chen, what's wrong with you? How can you talk like that?"

Yun Chen coughed awkwardly a few times, looking apologetic: "I didn't mean to. Shen Yi'an was so persistent that I had to say something a bit harsh, but it worked. He stopped stopping us all at once."

"Because you said he was incompetent, that's really hurtful." Yun Jin got angrier and angrier, and slapped Yun Chen with her claws.

Yun Chen shrank back and pleaded, "If we don't do this, he won't let us go. I had no choice but to resort to this tactic."

Looking at Yun Jin, who was puffing up her cheeks, Yun Chen said earnestly, "Big sister, I will apologize to him properly."

“Perhaps I should have a proper talk with him,” Yun Jin said, lowering her head and sighing.

"Sis, don't be discouraged. Let me tell you about the investigation on Qin Yi," Yun Chen said, pointing to a pile of documents on the table.

Yun Jin first jumped onto the chair, then climbed onto the table using both hands and feet. On one side of the table were several empty cans of Aztec brand food, with some residue inside. Next to them was a thick stack of test reports, with various incomprehensible terms written densely on the open pages.

"Here's the thing, we had someone test it, and the canned food itself is substandard, with excessive bacteria and inferior raw materials. But for the cat demon, it's a minor problem; at most, it will cause diarrhea."

"But the canned food you ate tested positive for multiple complex toxins, which is... a lethal dose."

Looking at the alarmingly high levels of contamination on the test report, Yun Jin gasped in shock, a wave of fear washing over her.

“When I was keeping an eye on Qin Yi, I noticed that she was in contact with the staff member wearing black-rimmed glasses, and around the time you were poisoned, Qin Yi made an excuse to leave the filming location.”

Yun Jin's eyes gradually sharpened and turned cold. She recalled Qin Yi's blatant threat in the hospital corridor, and her sharp claws uncontrollably reached out, scraping across the table with a "sizzling" sound.

Anger and murderous intent churned and roared within her body, and Yun Jin felt as if she were being enveloped by these emotions.

"Big sister..." Yun Chen looked at Yun Jin, whose expression was solemn, and asked worriedly, "What do you plan to do?"

Yun Jin remained silent for a few seconds, her chest heaving violently, before she withdrew her claws.

She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, and said in a low voice, "Although I really want to retaliate in kind or put a hole in her neck, I can't."

Yun Jin looked up at Yun Chen, her eyes filled with complex emotions: "Because we are human now..."

Yun Chen opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't speak. She just quietly looked at her sister.

Yun Jin continued, "So let's resolve this in a human way, let the law convict her, and she will receive a fair trial."

Hearing his sister say this, Yun Chen showed a relieved yet somewhat helpless expression: "Looking at it this way, being human is really troublesome. However, the law is indeed the best means."

“The next step is to contact a lawyer, collect and organize evidence, and make relevant legal preparations,” Yun Jin said to her sister with a serious expression. “Because it is inconvenient for me to show my face, I’m entrusting some things to you.”

Yun Chen immediately straightened his back, stood up, saluted, and said in a firm tone, "I guarantee to complete the mission."

Yun Jin jumped off the table and gently leaped into Yun Chen's arms, nuzzling her hand.

"I often think... what would I do without you?"

Yun Chen hugged Yun Jin tightly.

As the sun sets, its afterglow spills into the small rented room, and the hum of the range hood in the kitchen brings back the long-lost aroma of cooking.

On the bed, Yun Jin was intently trying to transform back into human form.

"Hmm...just a little bit...just a little bit more."

She closed her eyes tightly, straining her entire body, and the space around her began to subtly distort.

Finally, her body elongated, and she successfully transformed into human form! Although it only lasted a few seconds, before Yun Jin could react, she fell face down onto the bed.

"Don't worry, sis, we have plenty of time," Yun Chen popped out of the kitchen, encouraging Yun Jin.

Yun Jin, who was lying on the bed, turned over and pressed down on something hard. When she pulled it out, she found that it was her own cell phone.

"Ah! I miss you! My phone!"

With tears welling up in her eyes, Yun Jin carefully used her paws to wake up her phone screen, only to see Shen Yi'an's latest message.

Yun Jin, let's break up.
