Time seemed to stand still at that moment; the sounds from the kitchen, the sounds from the street outside the window... all seemed to be shut out by this message.

Yun Jin stared blankly at the message until the screen went dark, the black screen reflecting her helpless expression.

"Shen Yi'an is joking, right? He's definitely angry with me." Yun Jin muttered softly, her heart pounding. She wanted to unlock the screen, but her hands wouldn't obey her.

She took a deep breath, struggled to unlock the screen, and tapped into her messages. She discovered that Shen Yi'an had called her twice an hour earlier, and then five or six messages had been retracted.

Yun Jin typed with trembling cat paws.

[Shen Yi'an, my phone is on silent. I didn't see the message.]

Are you angry? Because I didn't let you interfere in Qin Yi's affairs.

Actually, I can handle Qin Yi's matter myself; it's a small thing.

Yun Jin had never imagined that waiting for a message could feel like an eternity. She stared intently at Shen Yi'an's profile picture on the screen. Anxiety, unease, fear... all sorts of emotions churned in her stomach, making her restless.

A moment later, Yun Jin looked up at the setting sun. Her anxiety reached its peak. She got out of bed, gritted her teeth, and ran quickly to the door, leaving a sentence behind as she ran.

"Yun Chen! I'm not eating dinner! I'm going to find Shen Yi'an!"

The sound echoed in the room, but Yun Jin was no longer there.

Hearing the noise, Yun Chen poked his head out of the kitchen, still holding a spatula. Looking at the empty room, he was full of confusion: "So sudden, sis?"

When Yun Jin rushed straight onto the main road, the noisy car horns, the dense crowd, and the unfamiliar faces... As a cat demon who hadn't been out for a long time, her first instinct was to hide in a corner.

But Shen Yi'an...

Thinking of him, Yun Jin took a deep breath, overcoming her instinctive discomfort, and searched the endless stream of cars. Finally, the bus that could take her to the vicinity of the villa arrived. Just before the doors closed, Yun Jin jumped on.

The train carriage was crowded and stuffy, filled with a mixture of strange smells that made Yun Jin's stomach churn. After several transfers and bumpy rides, a panting and somewhat disheveled Yun Jin finally stood in front of the villa.

The villa was quiet. Yun Jin was anxious and pounded on the door with her paws, making a silent thud.

"Shen Yi'an! Open the door! I know you're in there!" she shouted.

There was no response from inside. Yun Jin pressed her ear close to the door, trying to catch Shen Yi'an's scent. Her nose told her that Shen Yi'an was in the living room.

This realization made Yun Jin pound on the door even harder. How much time had passed? What had happened to make Shen Yi'an avoid her like this?

"Shen Yi'an! Open the door! I know you're in the living room," Yun Jin practically shouted.

Then, Yun Jin keenly sensed that Shen Yi'an's aura had gone far away, followed by a very faint "click" sound.

Holy crap! He's hidden in his room!

Yun Jin was so angry that she stood there with her fur standing on end, her claws uncontrollably reaching out and rubbing against the ground. Although she was very angry, she forced herself to calm down.

Yun Jin looked around and her gaze fell on the familiar big tree, where the oversized bird's nest she had given to the crow was hanging from its branches.

An idea immediately came to mind.

Yun Jin quickly climbed up the big tree, peered into the bird's nest, and saw that the crow was curled up and sleeping soundly.

She poked the crow's back with her claws, and the crow muttered a few dissatisfied notes in its sleep, then moved to the side.

Yun Jin poked it again, and the crow moved slightly, still half asleep.

Finally, Yun Jin lost her patience and let out a loud, forceful caw right next to the crow's ear.

"Caw!!!" The crow was startled awake and scurried around in the cramped nest, only to crash into the door with a loud "thud" and fall down, seeing stars.

"Crow, when did you get back?" Yun Jin squeezed in.

"Oh my god! You scared me to death!" Crow calmed down, and after recognizing Yun Jin, complained with a strong sense of morning grumpiness, "Oh dear, you've recovered pretty quickly, you can even climb trees and scare birds now, just a few days ago you were lying in bed coughing up blood..."

"Wait, something's not right with Shen Yi'an," Yun Jin quickly interrupted Crow, "When did you get back? Did you see Shen Yi'an or hear anything?"

"Shen Yi'an," the crow rubbed its head with its wing, pondered for a moment, "No. I came back to sleep about two hours ago and didn't notice him. What's wrong?"

“I know he’s inside, but he won’t open the door,” Yun Jin said worriedly. “You’ve been here for so long and you know this place well. Do you have any way to get in?”

Upon hearing this, the crow hopped to a higher branch and looked down at Shen Yi'an's villa.

After a while, he slapped his forehead with his wing and said, almost falling off, "The window! The window in the study on the third floor isn't closed properly, you can squeeze in!"

Yun Jin looked down in the direction he pointed, then frowned: "I can't jump into this window."

The crow flapped its wings triumphantly in the air, raising its little head: "What's so difficult about this! Watch me, I'll go open the door for you."

Upon hearing this, Yun Jin's eyes lit up instantly: "Crow, you look so cool when you say that."

"Pah! Don't give me that crap, don't disgust me, thank you," the crow shook its feathers in disgust, tossed out a sentence, and swooped down, "Wait for me."

Yun Jin clenched her fists.

However, considering how helpful he was, I'll let bygones be bygones this time.

Yun Jin returned to the front of the villa, and soon after, she heard a "click" as the door opened a crack.

Yun Jin quickly squeezed in and headed straight for Shen Yi'an's room.

Looking at the tall doorknob in front of her, Yun Jin took a few steps back, pushed off with all her might, and jumped up, trying to use her own weight to press the doorknob down.

But... it didn't work.

With no other option, Yun Jin had to send the crow to look for a way to get in, and then knocked on the door again.

"Shen Yi'an, if you don't open the door, I'm going to get angry!" Yun Jin shouted.

From inside the room came Shen Yi'an's deep, resistant voice: "I'm sorry... go back, Yun Jin."

"I didn't see your message! It's my fault, Shen Yi'an," Yun Jin pressed her face against the crack in the door, trying to pry it open. She could vaguely see that Shen Yi'an wasn't wearing shoes, his bare feet on the cold floor. "Come out, let's talk this out, okay?"

“You didn’t see it…that’s great,” Shen Yi’an’s voice grew louder, carrying a sense of disgust and dejection as he spoke, “That’s it, I’m not worthy…and I don’t deserve to be with you.”

"Why?" Yun Jin's heart sank, and she pressed for an answer. "Is it because of what Yun Chen said? Or because I wouldn't let you interfere in Qin Yi's affairs? Are you angry with me?"

"No! It has nothing to do with you! It's my problem," Shen Yi'an's voice suddenly became agitated. "Go away! Stay away from me. Someone like me... is not worth your affection at all!"

Yun Jin listened intently to the sounds coming from the room. She could feel Shen Yi'an's breathing becoming more and more rapid, and his emotions becoming more and more excited.

After saying that, he even chuckled softly, unable to control himself.

“Someone like me… can’t help at all,” he began to ramble incoherently. “While you were poisoned, I was called to the company! Those damn things, I couldn’t get away no matter what, I was so anxious, I wished… them…”

Before he could finish speaking, a "clink" sound came from the room, and a teacup shattered on the floor.

Then, with another thud, Shen Yi'an knelt on the ground, covered his head with his hands, and began to sob.

"Wait! Shen Yi'an!" Yun Jin already had a guess in her mind, but she tried her best to suppress the intimidation in her heart and said in a calm tone, "Calm down and tell me, did you take your medicine on time today?"

"Take medicine?" Shen Yi'an paused for a moment, then lowered his voice, "Medicine... I think I took it, but I also think I didn't... I can't remember."

His words terrified Yun Jin even more. Once, Shen Yi'an forgot to take his medicine and couldn't muster any energy all day. He looked sickly and depressed.

And now, this state of heightened excitement is hard to control...

Yun Jin's voice began to tremble as she asked, her voice shaking, "Shen Yi'an... tell me, are you unable to control your emotions and behavior right now?"

"How could that be? I feel perfectly fine right now. I just accidentally broke a teacup," Shen Yi'an immediately retorted loudly, though his voice seemed to carry a hint of a sob. "Yun Jin, why aren't you leaving yet! You want to see me make a fool of myself! You want to see me humiliated, don't you!"

"No, I was just worried about you..."

Before Yun Jin could finish speaking, Shen Yi'an interrupted her: "Why are you still here? We're not the same kind of people. You should go find Qi Qi and the others!"

Yun Jin: "..."

Yun Jin took a deep breath, reminding herself that Shen Yi'an was simply unable to control his emotions.

Suddenly, a smell of rust wafted over, and Yun Jin quickly lowered her head. Although she could only see Shen Yi kneeling with his back to the door through the crack in the door, she could vaguely see him stroking his arm with something.

"Ah—! Shen Yi'an! What are you doing?" Yun Jin was so frightened by the scene that she cried out, "If you do this, I'm going to call the police!"

With a crisp "ding," the porcelain shard slipped from Shen Yi'an's hand and fell to the ground.

Yun Jin saw through the crack in the door that Shen Yi'an had stopped moving. He slowly turned around and glanced at the doorway.

“Don’t…don’t call the police,” his voice became very hoarse, “My situation right now…is like when you were poisoned, calling the police will only make things worse…”

After saying that, he stood up unsteadily. Yun Jin was horrified to see that bright red blood was flowing down his drooping arm, soaking his pants, and finally dripping onto the floor.

"Yun Jin... why aren't you leaving? I want to sleep." Shen Yi'an slammed his fist on the door.

A loud "bang!" startled Yun Jin, who was outside the door, causing her to take a step back, her heart pounding.

"Shen Yi'an! Calm down! You... this is dangerous!" Yun Jin cried out anxiously and fearfully through the door.

"It's nothing! I was just cleaning up the trash on the floor! It's none of your business!" Shen Yi'an roared irritably in the room.

It's all over, it ......

He was now delirious and didn't know what he was doing. Yun Jin was so anxious that she stomped her feet and tears were about to fall.

"Caw!" The crow flew back.

"How is it? Did you find anything?" Yun Jin asked anxiously, as if grasping at a straw.

The crow shook its head and said, "No, the windows are closed tightly, and it seems that Shen Yi'an is... hurting himself."

“I know that…that’s what I’m worried about.” Yun Jin looked at the closed door.

Looking at the despairing Yun Jin, the crow rolled its beady eyes and said, "Actually, I have another... not-so-reliable method."

"Tell me the method quickly, I'm willing to try it whether you believe me or not," Yun Jin said firmly.

“It’s like this,” the crow cleared its throat, “when I first settled here, one day I saw a glittering clock hanging in his room, you know how crows are…”

"Stop, get to the point, okay?" Yun Jin was both amused and exasperated by his slow recollection even at this critical moment, and urged, "Keep it brief, I'm in a hurry."

"Okay, to make a long story short, there's a window in this room that I've smashed open, and it has a lot of tiny cracks. I was thinking, maybe... you could stand on a higher spot and smash it into those cracks."

"I'll go right now." Yun Jin's eyes lit up, and she quickly ran out.

At night, she climbed the tall tree again, stood on a swaying branch, and looked at the spot drawn by the crow.

However, looking at the distant ground, a wave of dizziness washed over her, causing Yun Jin's legs to tremble slightly.

If she can't break the glass, she might fall to her death here...

Then Shen Yi'an will also die...
