Chapter 105 (First Release)

Ning Wanwan certainly wouldn't just run away like that.

Putting aside the situation, I shouldn't have abandoned him and run away.

Moreover, Ning Wanwan hadn't yet let fear overwhelm her reason. If she just ran away like that, where could she go? Outside was a huge, chaotic blizzard; going out would still mean certain death.

But if you don't run, what can you do?

Ansel fought the monster, but it was clear that he was losing ground.

Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she could only stare nervously at Anseil and the monster, hoping that Anseil would be able to defeat the monster successfully.

However, her expectations were dashed.

Ansel was clearly no match for the monster; as an ordinary human, the gap between him and the monster was too great.

The dagger kept stabbing and slashing at the monster's body, but this small human weapon was insignificant compared to the monster's size, as if it were just a tickle to the monster.

But this constant attack and resistance still angered the monster.

It let out a piercing, eerie scream, its drooling fangs snapping open, and with a speed too fast for the naked eye to perceive, it lunged at Ansel!

Ansel reacted quickly, grabbing his dagger to defend himself and barely managing to block the attack. However, he was covered in cold sweat and looked pale, clearly not going to last much longer.

Ning Wanwan panicked and, without thinking twice, grabbed the sharpest rock she could find and shouted at Ansel, "Watch out!"

Then he picked up the rock and hurled it at the monster!

The monster wasn't afraid of even a sharp dagger, so it naturally wouldn't be afraid of this small test stone. However, it seemed that Ning Wanwan's act of throwing the stone at it had caught its attention.

It wriggled twice, then began to twist its body with a hissing sound, its terrifyingly open mouth pointing towards Ning Wanwan.

Ning Wanwan suddenly felt a chilling sense of danger and instinctively dodged to the side.

Sure enough, the monster chased after her!

Ning Wanwan's mind went blank. Without thinking too much, she took off running!

Ansel's previous attacks seemed to have had some effect, as the monsters were not as fast as they had been at the beginning. Ning Wanwan tried her best to use her size to run towards the pile of rocks to dodge, and occasionally used the stones she threw to interfere.

However, the distance between her and the monster continued to close rapidly, and several times the monster almost bit her arm.

Ning Wanwan could even smell the stench emanating from the monster.

No... If this continues, I'll die in the monster's mouth soon!

Ning Wanwan subconsciously looked in Ansel's direction.

Ansel must have been seriously injured in the previous fight with the monster. He was looking at her anxiously, struggling to get up, but he fell to the ground every time he tried.

It was probably during a crisis that my mind suddenly became unusually clear.

Ning Wanwan realized with absolute certainty that Ansel couldn't help her at this moment.

The only way to escape the monster's pursuit is to distract it.

The monster seems to be only interested in fresh flesh and blood, and the only way to distract it is to lure it toward Ansel.

But... given Anseil's current severely injured and immobile state, if I lead the monster towards him, he will definitely die!

Otherwise, I'll just run that way... I have no other choice...

We hadn't reached the point of having to make a choice before, but isn't this the most critical moment, the moment when death is imminent?

Already hungry and thirsty, and now with her energy depleted, Ning Wanwan felt as if that devil had reappeared in her mind, constantly tempting her.

Once you lure the monster over, it will be full and won't bother you. You'll also get the food from your backpack, giving you more time to hold out until the blizzard stops...

“Wanwan…” Ansel suddenly called out with difficulty, but did not continue. He looked at Ning Wanwan, as if signaling her to lead the monster to him.

Even Ansel himself agreed, so what right do you have to resist?

The devil whispered in my ear.

Ning Wanwan gritted her teeth, turned around, and led the monster toward Ansel!

Ansel's purple eyes darkened slightly as he continued to look at Ning Wanwan, a slight smile playing on his lips, seemingly quite willing to help Ning Wanwan fend off the threat.

"Yes, that's right." The devil laughed loudly in Ning Wanwan's ear, but it also sounded like he was gritting his teeth.

Ning Wanwan didn't think about anything, nor did she answer the devil's question. She just kept rushing towards Ansel.

Then, just as she was about to reach Ansel's location, Ning Wanwan made another sharp turn, changing direction and running in the other direction!

Ansel, who was waiting for Ning Wanwan to use him as a shield, was clearly taken aback.

And just like that... he ran over there.

The monster was also taken aback by the sudden change, slowing down a bit as if it hesitated about whether to change its target and continue biting Ansel. Ning Wanwan turned around and threw stones at it to attract its attention!

The monster screamed and charged at Ning Wanwan again!

Seeing that it didn't pounce on Ansel, Ning Wanwan breathed a slight sigh of relief. But as the monster approached, she quickly continued to run with all her might.

When Ning Wanwan was throwing stones at the monster before, she noticed that the monster seemed to be not very intelligent and was easily provoked.

She was too scared to think much at the time, but now Ning Wanwan had no choice but to try anything, and it actually worked a little.

After these maneuvers, Ning Wanwan increased the distance between herself and the monster a little more, but she still couldn't hold out for long.

She was running slower and slower...

As her strength waned, Ning Wanwan was momentarily dazed. The relentless monster's fangs grazed her hand, drawing blood. The intense pain made her eyes widen.

"Hmm!"

it hurts!

"I'm really going to die in the monster's mouth now..." Ning Wanwan thought with a bitter smile.

Before Ning Wanwan could think of anything, Ansel exclaimed in astonishment, "Wanwan!"

Ansel was either too badly injured or something else, because when Ning Wanwan led the monster past him, he sat there blankly with his eyes downcast, lost in thought.

Now that Ning Wanwan was injured right in front of him, he finally reacted.

"Wanwan! Squat down!"

Upon hearing the sound, Ning Wanwan didn't have time to think and instinctively squatted down without hesitation. Because the movement was too hasty, she almost rolled on the ground twice in a disheveled state.

Immediately afterwards, she saw something silvery and shiny, like a bolt of lightning, forcefully piercing into the monster's "head"!

It's that dagger!

Strangely, the dagger had previously left countless cuts on the monster's body, yet the monster seemed unaffected. But now, with just this one strike, the monster suddenly let out a violent scream!

The voice was unpleasant and strange, indescribable. Ning Wanwan's eardrums vibrated painfully, yet she heard Ansel say—

"Wanwan! Seize the opportunity!"

Ning Wanwan, who was still a little confused, suddenly realized something and immediately ran towards the monster, grabbing the exposed hilt of the dagger.

The monster was still howling in agony, its disgusting, soft flesh twisted into a mess, thrashing wildly at the ground, completely ignoring Ning Wanwan, the "food" who had come to it.

Ning Wanwan knew that this was a good opportunity.

Then, with all the strength she could muster, she gripped the hilt of the dagger and slashed downwards fiercely!

With a hissing sound, the monster struggled and wriggled twice more before finally opening its terrifying maw, which was filled with fine fangs.

Then it stopped moving completely.

Ning Wanwan was so frightened by the monster's final attack that she took a few steps back until she was sure the monster had stopped moving before she finally relaxed.

She collapsed to the ground, somewhat dazed. The series of near-death experiences that had just transpired left her feeling utterly weak and exhausted.

"Wanwan, are you alright?" Ansel moved closer to her and looked at her with concern.

“Ansel…” Ning Wanwan blinked, and tears of relief suddenly streamed down her face.

"Ouch, that hurts, Ansel..."

"Wanwan, don't be afraid, it's all over now." The blond-haired, purple-eyed boy gently hugged Ning Wanwan, patting her back tenderly to comfort her as her most trusted friend.

Ning Wanwan's tears continued to fall, and she cried so hard she could barely breathe, but the sound of her crying was very soft, as pitiful as a kitten whimpering.

"The monster is really, really scary..."

Although she had no memory of it, Ning Wanwan felt that she had never seen anything so terrifying before.

That unfamiliar, detached sense of fear lingered for a long time.

"It's alright, Wanwan. You did a great job, really great," Ansel comforted her while praising her. "You killed the monster that hurt you with your own hands, didn't you?"

"With my own hands..." Ning Wanwan murmured softly.

“Yes, that last one, didn’t you forget?” Ansel chuckled and patted her shoulder. “Looking at it this way, doesn’t the monster not seem so scary anymore?”

Following his gesture, Ning Wanwan looked at the motionless, completely dead monster on the ground.

It doesn't seem so scary anymore.

Ning Wanwan's emotions gradually calmed down. She sniffed and finally stopped crying.

It was only then that she realized she was still in Ansel's arms, and she quickly straightened up, feeling a little embarrassed: "Thank you... I'm sorry! I got your clothes wet..."

Ning Wanwan noticed a dark, damp patch on his shoulder, clearly from when she had rubbed herself against him while crying in his arms.

Ansel glanced at it sideways, completely unconcerned: "It's alright, as long as you stop crying."

He made an exaggerated expression and winked at her mischievously, "You cried just now, which really startled me. It's the first time a girl has cried in my arms."

"But at least I'll have some experience now."

Ning Wanwan: "..." What kind of strange experience is this?!

However, thinking about how pitifully she had cried just now, Ning Wanwan blushed even more and pursed her lips.

Then, unable to hold back, he gasped and hissed softly.

"What's wrong? What's wrong?"

Ansel leaned closer, his jewel-like purple eyes filled with concern. "Are you injured?"

His gaze lingered inquisitively on Ning Wanwan's lips.

Then suddenly he reached out and pressed down lightly.
