Chapter 81 "Got you."

Chapter 81 "Got you."

Ning Wanwan: ""

Ning Wanwan: "!!!"

"Wait! Shut up! Why do you have to say something like this?!" She was completely exasperated!

Is something wrong? Why did it suddenly jump to such an embarrassing topic?

If the system were right in front of her, she would probably try to gag it so it couldn't say those things.

The system continued, seemingly oblivious, as if it had no shame in saying such things.

[Isn't that right? Isn't the host actually quite satisfied with Zhou Yanyao? The host prefers humans with physical bodies, right? Otherwise, why won't you admit that I'm more useful than him?]

This barrage of almost aggressive questions made Ning Wanwan feel dizzy.

"What you're thinking is too strange. Things like physical entities and not physical entities are all just your imagination. Real people actually feel more intimidating to me..." because they always ignore what I say and keep crowding around...

[Really? Host, is that really what you think?] The system seemed particularly persistent at this moment.

In terms of emotions, the system seems to be increasingly moving away from its previous superficial displays of intimacy and cuteness, and becoming more like a human being.

Ning Wanwan pursed her lips, not wanting to continue this meaningless topic with the system any longer.

"That's right, I naturally think you're better than everyone else," Ning Wanwan said, her words not entirely sincere. "Let's deal with the immediate problem first, okay?"

The system's mechanical voice held a hint of delight: [Is that what the host thinks...? Okay, I understand.]

The system in my mind finally quieted down obediently.

Ning Wanwan let out a barely perceptible breath, once again deeply realizing how troublesome it was to have an extra system in her mind.

Although it's sometimes useful, it's still quite troublesome.

Ning Wanwan is really bad at having close relationships with anyone, let alone something like a system that's with her all the time.

Fortunately, this relationship has an end. Once I complete my mission in this world and return to my original world, I will be able to get rid of all this chaos.

With that in mind, Ning Wanwan focused all her attention back on the present moment.

To achieve the long-term goal of returning home, the immediate task is, of course, to resolve the current situation.

Ning Wanwan glanced through the crack in the open door but couldn't make out anything. The people who had been led away seemed to be returning, and their footsteps were getting closer.

Without further hesitation, she applied a little more force to open the door completely, then quickly slipped inside and closed it in one smooth motion.

"We're in. Is this the main control room...?"

Ning Wanwan slightly widened her eyes. The exterior of the control room was unremarkable, but now she could finally see its internal structure.

—To be honest, it's not quite what she thought.

None of what she had imagined—the sophisticated equipment and wiring, the flashing indicator lights, or some terrifying, unimaginable abnormality—existed.

It was just an ordinary, simple room; in fact, the interior was too simple. Despite being the main control room, there was almost no control equipment in sight.

Therefore, Ning Wanwan's gaze was immediately drawn to the control panel in the middle.

There were no wires or instruments on the control panel, and the metal tabletop was smooth. Ning Wanwan even wondered if she had come to the wrong place.

"Are you sure you didn't get the wrong person...?"

Or is it because everything that needs to be set up has already been set up, and this is the scene after it ends?

Ning Wanwan frowned slightly in confusion and continued to examine the control panel carefully. There was nothing on the control panel; it was just an ordinary table with a chair next to it.

If there's nothing there, does this mean we came for nothing?

Ning Wanwan bit her lip reluctantly, then simply placed her hand on the table and continued to grope around.

She couldn't believe there was nothing there; the fact that there was an empty control panel in an empty control room was strange enough.

"Wait... this."

The icy control panel seemed to absorb every bit of body heat. After meticulously exploring every inch of it, Ning Wanwan suddenly felt as if she had touched something that was a little uneven.

Visible to the naked eye, a tiny ripple spread through the air. Ning Wanwan exerted force in her hand, as if tearing off an invisible film, and a red button appeared before her eyes.

Ning Wanwan: "!!!"

This is just too unbelievable.

"Host, calm down. This is probably some kind of illusion they've created using special abilities or items," the system said.

Ning Wanwan nodded, the astonishment and curiosity in her eyes still lingering: "I know..."

She had long known that extraordinary powers existed in this world, but this was the first time she had come into contact with them and witnessed such a strange existence firsthand.

It's as if the peaceful and ordinary daily life is being gradually eroded.

Ning Wanwan once again had this profound feeling that her world was not an ordinary world.

"You'll see even more incredible things in the future," the system said.

Ning Wanwan didn't speak, pulled herself out of her thoughts, and looked at the red button next to her.

There is a button on the control panel, which is the only operable thing in the entire control room.

Should I press it?

The red button is as dark as congealed blood, and there is no explanation of its function. It makes people curious about the result of pressing it regardless, but also makes them fearful of the unknown consequences.

Ning Wanwan certainly wouldn't press that ominous-looking button without knowing anything about it.

"I heard them say that the amusement park was going to explode... Could this be the one that controlled the explosion?" Ning Wanwan couldn't help but speculate.

But now, in this control room, there is no other information to verify one's guess.

This disappointed Ning Wanwan somewhat. It seemed that she had discovered something important, but she still didn't have any more specific clues.

Just as Ning Wanwan was hesitating about whether to find a way to leave now, she suddenly heard a faint, respectful voice outside the door.

"Mr. Jiang, over here."

The footsteps had reached the door; there was more than one person.

Ning Wanwan was startled and instinctively looked around to hide, but the empty control room was almost completely exposed, leaving her no room to hide.

Was this something they expected?

No! There's another place!

Having no other choice, Ning Wanwan suddenly turned her gaze to the control panel.

"Mr. Jiang, look, this is it."

The door to the control room opened, and the amusement park manager stepped aside, bowing slightly as he respectfully invited Jiang Yuyuan in, hoping that the results achieved during this period would satisfy this distinguished figure.

"The main control room has removed all other redundant facilities, leaving only the final and most crucial button, just waiting for you to press it. However, all other control points are already prepared throughout the amusement park, so even if someone wanted to stop us at this moment, it would be too late."

The person in charge smiled ingratiatingly, secretly glancing at the important figure, trying to gauge his satisfaction from the other's reaction.

Jiang Yuyuan's face was expressionless; he simply hummed in response and stepped inside.

Then, his gaze fell on the control panel.

Ning Wanwan, hiding in the small space under the control panel, heard what the person in charge said and felt a tightness in her heart.

Sure enough, the button was what caused the amusement park to explode, but it was too late to stop it at that point... What does that mean?

She felt a strong sense of unease.

The person in charge wanted to explain something more to Jiang Yuyuan: "Mr. Jiang, this is the control panel for the final step, designed by Dr. Mu. Just press it, and you can advance..."

Before he could finish speaking, his face suddenly turned pale, and he saw the exposed red button on the control panel.

Jiang Yuyuan looked at him, his dark eyes cold and deep. He didn't say a word, but it was as if he had said everything.

"This, this..." Large beads of sweat rolled down the person in charge's forehead, but his mind was still clear. "I'll immediately instruct the others to find the person who sneaked in!"

Ning Wanwan: "!!!"

Oh no! The situation was too urgent when she was hiding, and she forgot that the concealment mechanism on that button had disappeared. Anyone else could tell that someone had entered the control room!

I just hope they never imagined that the person who sneaked in is still in the control room and hasn't left...

"No need," Jiang Yuyuan's voice rang out.

His tone remained indifferent and rational, devoid of any extra emotion, unhurried and calm: "The setting of this button was originally just Dr. Mu's unnecessary and perverse hobby... There's nothing to pursue about it."

"In any case, the matter is settled, and even if someone sees it, it won't have any impact."

"Yes, yes." The person in charge wiped his sweat and slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

"However, the person who came in was cautious enough not to press the button directly."

Jiang Yuyuan calmly said another sentence, as if he was pondering something, then walked to the center and sat down in front of the control panel.

The man's long, slender legs, clad in dress pants, were positioned directly below the stage, coming into Ning Wanwan's view; the tips of his shoes were only a few centimeters away from her.

"!!!"

Ning Wanwan was so nervous that her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest. She didn't dare to peek for fear of being discovered, so she tried her best to hide her body further under the table and quietly avoid Jiang Yuyuan's shoes.

Forced to keep her head down and shrink into the narrow space, staring at the man's legs, she felt that time was exceptionally long and unbearable.

My mind raced with wild thoughts. Those clothes and shoes must be really expensive. Is this the kind of high-class stuff a villain wears? When will I ever be that rich...?

What should I do? Why is he sitting here without saying a word?

Ning Wanwan suddenly realized that it had been quiet outside for quite a while.

Looking at Jiang Yuyuan from this angle, all you can see is his body sitting there motionless, with half of his chin exposed like a cold sculpture.

...Wait, this angle...no, he's looking down!!!

Ning Wanwan suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.

Before she could do anything else, a large, adult male hand reached out and grabbed her arm.

The merciless force caused Ning Wanwan to lose control of her physical reaction for a moment, and tears welled up in her eyes.

it hurts!

"I've caught you." The man stated the fact indifferently, his tone calm and icy.

"Now, come out."
