Chapter 85 (First Release)
"Mr. Jiang, what should we do next?"
The amusement park manager's words sounded somewhat alarmed and hurried.
"I understand." Upon hearing this news, Jiang Yuyuan only frowned briefly, remaining calm. "Let's go now and begin the original plan."
He looked down at Ning Wanwan again; the girl was still squatting there, hugging her knees.
As if sensing his gaze, she slightly raised her head and looked at him with a somewhat blank expression.
The man softened his tone: "Wait here for a moment, I'll send someone to take you away."
Ning Wanwan hesitated for a moment, then, without looking at him, whispered "okay."
Jiang Yuyuan was satisfied only after receiving a response from the girl.
Ning Wanwan certainly didn't really intend to be sent away from the East District as Jiang Yuyuan had arranged; she just wanted to use her obedience to deceive him for the time being.
However, she had other goals besides these.
The amusement park manager, already quite perceptive, left the control room and waited outside. Ning Wanwan glanced at Jiang Yuyuan, then quickly stood up.
"Oops!" Jiang Yuyuan was right next to her, and she accidentally bumped into him.
"I'm sorry..." Ning Wanwan clutched her head, which had bumped into the man's chest, and hissed in pain a few times. Then she picked up a small device that had fallen to the ground, intending to return it to him.
Jiang Yuyuan ignored the small sensor and simply reached out to check her forehead: "You were so careless and got hurt."
His voice was faint, and his fingers touched her forehead, which had a large red mark from the impact, and felt a slight coolness.
Ning Wanwan had a persistent feeling that her little thoughts and actions had been completely seen through, so she whispered again, "I'm sorry..."
Jiang Yuyuan didn't say anything: "I'll have someone bring you the ointment later."
He paused, then looked at the girl's ankle, noticing a detail: "Are you injured here too?"
Ning Wanwan pursed her lips, feeling a little uncomfortable with the villain's concern, but then a thought suddenly struck her, and she felt she had found a good reason: "Yes, the amusement park felt particularly dangerous today, accidents kept happening..."
At this point, Ning Wanwan quietly observed Jiang Yuyuan's reaction.
Jiang Yuyuan's fingertips remained on her forehead as he hummed in agreement. "So, what do you want to say?"
Ning Wanwan continued to steal glances at his expression.
However, Jiang Yuyuan's expression control was so good that Ning Wanwan couldn't discern anything from his cold and indifferent handsome face.
"I... I meant to say, things seem pretty dangerous lately. I'm just an ordinary person, and I wanted to use this to avoid some unsettling situations. Could I borrow it for a bit...?"
Ning Wanwan hesitated for a while, but decided to use honest words. After all, she really didn't have the confidence to deceive Jiang Yuyuan, so she might as well try to make a sincere request.
I always felt that although Jiang Yuyuan is very ruthless in the plot, he may not be that difficult to talk to, perhaps because his villainous nature has not been fully revealed yet.
But saying it like this still feels like I'm lying... No, this is lying!
Ning Wanwan glanced at Jiang Yuyuan cautiously, hoping that he would be in a good mood and willing to give her the sensor.
As for asking Mu Xijue for it, Ning Wanwan didn't think she could succeed at all.
"You want this?" Jiang Yuyuan looked at her for a while and asked thoughtfully.
The man's expression remained indifferent, but Ning Wanwan had a feeling that he was about to refuse her at any moment.
She had mustered her courage and boldly tried to borrow the small device, afraid of upsetting the other party, so she hurriedly tried to salvage the situation: "Well, actually, it's okay if you don't need it... I was just asking..."
"It's really dangerous lately."
Jiang Yuyuan interrupted her, ignoring her flustered reaction. He glanced at the sensor in her hand and calmly said, "You can keep it. Do you know how to use it?"
"Hmm..." Ning Wanwan said subconsciously in a low voice, "I heard it..."
After realizing that Jiang Yuyuan had actually given her the sensor, Ning Wanwan's eyes lit up and she couldn't help but curl up the corners of her mouth.
"Thank you," she said slowly.
The girl's voice was soft and gentle, with a sweet, mellow quality, and her small smile was equally sweet.
Could such a small device make her so happy? Jiang Yuyuan didn't speak, but he subtly lingered his gaze on the girl's smile for several moments.
Then, when the girl looked back with some confusion, he casually put it away.
“Use this to avoid danger,” Jiang Yuyuan said. “Use it in the right place.”
His words sounded like a concerned instruction, and Ning Wanwan, holding the sensor, naturally wouldn't disagree at this moment, and nodded obediently.
But inwardly, I sighed, feeling more like a fraudster myself.
Because she was destined to be completely different from Jiang Yuyuan's expectations, she did not intend to use this sensor to avoid danger. On the contrary, she wanted to run towards the dangerous place. This is probably what is meant by knowingly walking into danger.
But there's nothing we can do about it.
However, unlike her feelings for Zhou Yanyao, Ning Wanwan didn't feel guilty at all, because it was Jiang Yuyuan who planned and carried out the "danger"!
Ning Wanwan is sensitive, but she would never take all the blame upon herself.
"Aren't you leaving?"
Sensing that the villain was still staring at her for some reason, Ning Wanwan pursed her lips and gently reminded him, "That person in charge... is still waiting outside."
Jiang Yuyuan: "It's alright, nothing will change even if we wait a little longer."
Ning Wanwan really wanted to speak, but the other person seemed to be in a hurry.
"Is there anything you want to ask?" Jiang Yuyuan's eyebrows twitched slightly, his dark eyes calm, as he asked as if to confirm.
Ning Wanwan paused for a moment: "Ah..."
Actually, there are still some questions I want to ask...
However, if I ask the question directly, I'm afraid I might cross a line. What if I touch on something I shouldn't know and get silenced?
Ning Wanwan was lost in thought and hesitated.
But it seems the other party really didn't intend to do anything to her.
Jiang Yuyuan: "If there's nothing else, I'm leaving. Don't wander around here."
Ning Wanwan: "Hmm..."
She paused for a moment, mustered her courage, and gently called out to Jiang Yuyuan as he stepped toward the door.
“Jiang Yuyuan… Mr. Jiang”
Ning Wanwan took a deep breath, her face serious, and asked earnestly, "...Why exactly did you plan these things? For ordinary people, these are disasters, right?"
She knew it was inappropriate to ask such a question at this time, and the villain might be unhappy about it, but she really wanted to know.
Jiang Yuyuan looked at her, his eyes slightly narrowed, his voice low and deep.
"If someone else asked this question, do you know what the consequences would be?"
Ning Wanwan: "I'm sorry... but this is indeed the question I wanted to ask."
Jiang Yuyuan's expression didn't change at all: "You're too impulsive. It's understandable to want to find out information, but you have to find the right time."
Ning Wanwan: "...I'm sorry"
Jiang Yuyuan: "There's no need to apologize, but you should learn from this experience next time."
Ning Wanwan inexplicably felt that his cold expression had softened considerably, as if he were... teaching her how to better gather information.
Was her attempt to test her really that clumsy? The villain couldn't stand it anymore and even personally pointed out her flaws to teach her.
“Okay…” Ning Wanwan mumbled in response to Jiang Yuyuan, unable to resist secretly glancing at his expression again.
Unfortunately, it's still impossible to tell anything.
Jiang Yuyuan nodded and walked towards the door.
Just when Ning Wanwan thought she wouldn't get an answer to her question, she suddenly heard Jiang Yuyuan's footsteps pause slightly behind her, and his voice came from behind.
"My goal is very simple: to acquire a powerful weapon that signifies 'destruction'."
Ning Wanwan suddenly turned around, never expecting this answer.
She felt as if she had learned some incredible new information.
But Jiang Yuyuan didn't say anything more, only saying, "Knowing too much won't do you any good as an ordinary person," before stepping out of the control room.
Sensing the gazes of others outside the door, Ning Wanwan quickly turned her head back, turning her back to their stares.
The amusement park manager, who was still standing outside the door, glanced at Jiang Yuyuan, who was already walking ahead, and then focused on the control panel behind him. He was about to say something, but then cautiously shut his mouth.
Although I don't know why Mr. Jiang hasn't caught the "rat" that sneaked in and was hiding, he must have his reasons for doing so, so I'd better not say anything more.
As the amusement park manager caught up with Jiang Yuyuan, he heard his boss instruct, "Send a few people to take her out of the East District immediately. We need to keep an eye on her."
"Yes," the person in charge quickly replied.
Although we are short-staffed, we must do our best to handle this matter that the boss values so highly.
On the other side, Ning Wanwan looked at the small instrument in her hand in the control room, clenched her fist slightly, and tiptoed to the door, listening carefully to the sounds outside.
"The main control room is no longer important; there shouldn't be anyone guarding it now."
After losing track of Jiang Yuyuan and the others outside, Ning Wanwan disregarded everything and ran out of the control room as fast as she could.
System: [Host, slow down! You just twisted your ankle, don't fall again!]
Ning Wanwan was panting heavily. Instead of slowing down, she quickened her pace and kept running towards the outside of the amusement park center.
"System, you don't understand. Jiang Yuyuan is a villain, so he must be very shrewd. Since he said he would send someone to take me away, he would never forget that if I'm a little slow, I might be cornered in the control room."
Once they're sent away from the East District, everything is over.
Having finally reached this point, Ning Wanwan didn't want to let it all go to waste.
Ning Wanwan guessed correctly; less than two minutes after she left, the door to the control room was opened again.
"Is nobody here? What's going on?"
"Strange, where is the person we were instructed to deliver?"
Leaving aside the chaos in the control room, Ning Wanwan had already taken advantage of this brief lull to run out of the amusement park center.
Once you leave those unusually lush plants, the sounds of music from the entertainment facilities and the noise of tourists come rushing in again.
Hearing these lively voices, Ning Wanwan breathed a heavy sigh of relief, feeling more relaxed than ever before when she was among a crowd.
But now is not the time to rest.
"Now, we can try to find the next place."
What kind of person is that mysterious second female lead?
