Chapter 12 On the Train (Part 3)

Leaving aside Chen Shuning and He Chaoyang, who were looking at each other but had their own thoughts, let's not talk about them.

If Yang Wanqiu could still confess her feelings after all that He Chaoyang and Chen Shuning did, then her mental fortitude is truly remarkable.

Clearly, Yang Wanqiu couldn't do it yet. She had finally mustered up the courage, but after He Chaoyang said, "Excuse me, comrade, you just threw up and didn't rinse your mouth, so the smell is a bit strong," she broke down and was so embarrassed that she wanted to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Chen Shuning's laughter and his words, "Sorry, I couldn't help it. I apologize for disturbing you. Please continue, please continue," became the last straw that broke the camel's back, causing Yang Wanqiu to cover her face and run away crying in embarrassment.

With the main characters gone, there was no more excitement to watch. Somewhat disappointed, Chen Shuning pouted and muttered under her breath, "With this kind of fighting power, she still wants to chase after a man? No way, no way. She needs to train more." After saying that, she shook her head seriously, expressing her regret for not being able to watch the show.

Chen Shuning spoke softly, so much so that even the thin, dark-skinned girl sitting next to her, who had somehow gotten on the bus, couldn't hear her. But unfortunately, Battalion Commander He, who always had excellent hearing, overheard her.

After giving the interesting girl a deep look, He Chaoyang turned around and continued walking towards the dining car without stopping. However, no one saw that the thin lips of Battalion Commander He, who rarely smiled, were slightly upturned.

Having missed the show, Chen Shuning took out an enamel mug from her bag and poured some of the sweet soup her mother had prepared. Remembering the thick, cloying sweet soup she had just drunk when she got on the bus, Chen Shuning silently pulled out the bag she had specially left out under her seat to hold food.

He pretended to take out a water turtle from his bag, but actually from his spatial storage, poured some cooled boiled water, and tasted it; it was just right.

After carefully storing the water turtle, she hugged the enamel mug, which was almost as big as her face, and slurped up the sweet soup.

There's no way around it, it's really hot in August. Right now, Chen Shuning is really missing the days when he could have any cold drinks. Right now, let alone chilled drinks and ice cream, even a few pieces of ice with no flavor would be nice.

She has all sorts of refreshing and cooling fruit drinks in her space, including iced milk tea, iced coffee, chilled watermelon, ice cream, shaved ice, milkshakes, and more. But she can only see them and not eat them. This feeling of wanting to eat them is really unpleasant.

Reaching out to wipe away the tears that silently streamed from the corner of her mouth, Chen Shuning took another big gulp of sugar water in resentment. Who could understand the feeling of seeing something but not being able to eat it?

Just as Chen Shuning was lost in thought, a self-introduction pulled him out of the pile of refreshing snacks.

"Ahem... Hello everyone, my name is Liu Xiangyang, I'm seventeen years old, from Beijing, and I'm an educated youth going to Xiangyang Commune, Wangshan County, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province. Comrades, this special train for educated youth is heading to Heilongjiang Province, and we'll arrive in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province in four days. That means we'll be spending at least four days together on this train. Since we're all here, let's get to know each other. When you're away from home, you're bound to encounter some difficulties, and if you have any problems, we can lend a hand. Comrades, don't you think that makes sense?"

Chen Shuning looked up and saw a man who was at least 1.8 meters tall standing in the aisle, speaking loudly.

The gay man's voice was very infectious, and his appearance also conformed to the aesthetics of this era. He had a square face with a pair of bright eyes, thick eyebrows, a wide mouth, and a particularly cheerful smile that easily infected those around him.

Sure enough, as soon as he spoke, everyone followed the square-faced man's lead and began to introduce themselves.

"Hello everyone, my name is Li Yanhong, I am seventeen years old, from Beijing, and I have been assigned to Fuqiang Commune, Wanggangtun, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province."

"Hello everyone, my name is Zheng Guoqiang, I am eighteen years old, from Huai City, and I have been assigned to Hongqi Commune, Wangshan County, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province."

"Hello everyone, my name is Wang Chunni, I am seventeen years old, from Beijing, and I am an educated youth going to Xiangyang Commune, Wangshan County, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province." As she spoke, Wang Chunni pulled up Xu Laidi next to her and continued, "This is Xu Laidi, also seventeen years old, from Beijing, and like me, she is an educated youth going to Xiangyang Commune, Wangshan County, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province."

After the introductions, everyone realized that this carriage was almost entirely filled with educated youth going to Wangshan County for rural resettlement. After the introductions, the atmosphere in the carriage became noticeably more lively, and the educated youth who had been assigned to the same commune gathered in twos and threes, enthusiastically discussing their future lives.

Just as Chen Shuning was watching the commotion with amusement, like an outsider, the boy who had introduced himself first walked up to Chen Shuning's booth, smiled brightly at her, and asked, "Excuse me, you haven't introduced yourself yet?"

As soon as Liu Xiangyang got on the bus, he was attracted to this pretty girl who could drive people crazy with her words. The reason he mustered up the courage to be the first to stand up and introduce himself was simply to find out the girl's name and the location of the rural area he was going to.

Chen Shuning was so engrossed in watching the excitement that she completely forgot to introduce herself. Now that people had come to her door, and she wasn't one to do that kind of thing, she stood up confidently and introduced herself: "Hello everyone, my name is Chen Shuning, I am seventeen years old, from Beijing, and I am an educated youth going to Xiangyang Commune, Wangshan County, Xilin City, Heilongjiang Province."

Upon hearing that Chen Shuning was also going to Xiangyang Commune in Wangshan County, Liu Xiangyang was overjoyed. He secretly prayed that he could be assigned to the same brigade as Chen Shuning, while openly expressing his happiness.

"So we're both educated youth going to Xiangyang Commune, that's great! Comrade Chen Shuning, it's a pleasure to meet you." Liu Xiangyang said, extending his hand as if to shake hands with his new comrade.
