Chen Shuning was really hungry. After the food was served, he lost his usual slow and careful eating and started wolfing it down.
Right on time at eight o'clock, they put down their chopsticks, smiled apologetically at the resentful waiter, and ran out of the state-run restaurant without looking back.

At this moment, Chen Shuning's cheeks were slightly flushed, her eyes were sparkling, and her red lips, now free, were breathing in the fresh air in large gulps.
The two of them stared at each other quietly, their breathing and heartbeats slowly returning to normal.

After a while, Chen Shuning gently nudged He Chaoyang and said, "I should go home."

Watching Chen Shuning's departing figure, He Chaoyang shook his head helplessly at the shy girl, but at this moment his heart was filled with warmth and happiness.
If the little girl weren't so nervous and shy, she would have found that he wasn't as calm and composed as he appeared.
His heart was beating faster than ever before, not even when he was on a special mission.
This was the first time in over twenty years that He Chaoyang had felt this way.
He knew that the girl in front of him was about to become his wife, the girl who would walk hand in hand with him through life, just like his grandparents. He would never let go of her hand in this lifetime, nor could he bear to let go of her hand.
What makes him happiest is that the girl he loves also loves him. Their future will be full of countless possibilities, and he is willing to face them together with her and create their own happiness together.
Beneath He Chaoyang's calm exterior, his mind was racing with all sorts of thoughts.
The Chen family's gate wasn't locked, and Chen Shuning opened it with a gentle push.
