He held a purple clay teapot in his right hand, while his left hand swayed gently to the melody of Peking Opera playing on the radio.
His eyes were slightly closed, and he hummed softly, completely unaffected by the noise of the workers around him, as if he were immersed in the world of Peking Opera.
They didn't even notice He Chaoyang entering the room.
"Hey, wake up. I asked you to help me clean the house, not to slack off." He Chaoyang walked up to Jiang Xinmin and gave him a light kick.
Jiang Xinmin then realized what was happening, opened his eyes, and saw that the person who had come was He Chaoyang. His anger at being disturbed instantly turned into surprise.
The two grew up together, practically naked, so their bond was naturally unbreakable.
Although He Chaoyang has been in Heilongjiang Province for the past few years and rarely comes back, it has not affected the relationship between the two at all.
Although Jiang Xinmin's eyes were full of surprise, his words were full of sarcasm.
"Hey, you're such a busy man, how come you have time to come over today? What, you don't have to spend time with your little wife today?" Jiang Xinmin said with a grin.
Hearing this, He Chaoyang felt annoyed again. He wanted to spend time with his wife, but she had something to do today and didn't have time to talk to him.
So Jiang Xinmin saw the expression on He Chaoyang's face that he never thought he would ever see in his life—it looked like he was sexually frustrated.
What He Chaoyang said next completely stunned Jiang Xinmin.
“I would like to keep her company, but she’s going to a classmate’s house today and doesn’t have time,” He Chaoyang said.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xinmin nodded unconsciously at first, then burst into laughter, pointing at He Chaoyang and laughing for a long time until he saw He Chaoyang's increasingly dark face, at which point he tried his best to suppress his laughter.
However, what he said made He Chaoyang's face turn dark.
Jiang Xinmin, who had finally managed to stop laughing, said with a gloating look on his face: "I never thought that you, He Chaoyang, would have this day. Back then, so many girls in our compound were willing to die for you, but you didn't even give them a second glance."
Now you've finally met someone who can handle you! How does it feel to be ignored? Isn't it frustrating?
Upon hearing this, He Chaoyang's expression became even more interesting.
His lips twitched slightly, a sign that He Chaoyang was about to lose his temper, as those who knew him well.
As He Chaoyang's childhood friend, Jiang Xinmin naturally knew him well. He quickly suppressed his smile and tried to salvage the situation, saying, "Oh, what I meant was that your wife is really something. She's avenged all the women in our compound who were poisoned by you."
Oh no, that's not right. What I wanted to say was that your brother-in-law bought two more courtyards from me a few days ago.
With the ones you bought, that makes more than ten courtyards. What are you two planning to do?
"Tell me the truth, bro, did you get some inside information? Is it true that house prices are going up or something?"
He Chaoyang had no inside information. He just saw that Chen Shuning liked it, and since he had some spare money and had the advantage of Jiang Xinmin working at the real estate bureau, he bought a few properties as well.
In fact, He Chaoyang's idea was very simple; he just wanted to make his wife happy. However, he couldn't say these things to Jiang Xinmin.
So He Chaoyang could only vaguely say, "Your whole family deals with real estate all day long. If house prices are going to rise, who can get the news as fast as you?"
Stop overthinking things. The important thing is to get this house properly cleaned up. I bought it because Shuning likes it; the money's just sitting there anyway.
Jiang Xinmin was once again shocked by He Chaoyang's words, and said in disbelief, "I never thought you'd be in this situation. You're spending a fortune just to win a smile from a beautiful woman. I think it would be more appropriate to call Liu Jianshe a Casanova."
Even those guys who change girlfriends every few days don't spend tens of thousands of yuan like you, just to make your wife happy.
Dude, I've never seen you like this before! Now I'm really curious, what kind of girl could make someone as calm and composed as you so infatuated?
"What are you going to do? When do you have time to bring your sister-in-law out for a meal? You've already got your marriage certificate, but we brothers haven't even met your sister-in-law yet. That's not fair!"
Even though He Chaoyang didn't say it, Jiang Xinmin, as his childhood friend, could guess what He Chaoyang was thinking.
"Let's talk about it later. She's been busy shopping lately and doesn't have time."
When the topic of buying things came up, Jiang Xinmin's expression stiffened for a moment, as if he had been thinking for a while before he said, "I'm afraid the Xie family is not going to make it this time."
It was an open secret that Xie's third son was involved in the black market in Beijing, so when it came to buying things, Jiang Xinmin naturally thought of the Xie family.
He Chaoyang was taken aback upon hearing this. After a moment of contemplation, he asked, "What's going on?"
As He Chaoyang spoke, he sat down on the rattan chair on the other side of the stone table.
He had only been back for two days. Apart from having dinner with his parents on the afternoon of his return, he spent the entire day yesterday with his wife. When he returned, his parents were already asleep.
I went out early this morning as well. My friend only had a phone call with Jiang Xinmin, which was about the new house.
So He Chaoyang really didn't know about the Xie family. The reason He Chaoyang hesitated for a moment was not because he was afraid of trouble.
Originally, Xie's third son, like him and Jiang Xinmin, grew up in the same military compound and were of similar age, so they all got along well.
