Chapter 182 Dream Home

Qin Yalan had already put it this way, so how could the old man not understand? If the old lady's request wasn't excessive, the second daughter-in-law probably wouldn't have bothered with them over the 80 cents medical bill.

The problem was that the old woman was too greedy. She asked for a huge amount of medicine, even though the doctor said that she didn't need some of it. But the old woman insisted on getting it.

No wonder the second son's wife was unhappy. But the old man was unwilling to take money out of his pocket, so he lowered his head and remained silent.

Qin Yalan didn't care about any of that and said to the old man, "Since Dad is short of money right now, there's nothing we can do. We'll just deduct the money from your parents' retirement funds."

"If there's nothing else, we'll head back now." With that, Qin Yalan pulled Chen Tiejun out of the house and walked towards the backyard without looking back.

Although the two had just stepped out of the house when they heard Chen Tiewen cursing inside, they were clearly used to it and neither of them said anything.

When the couple returned home, Chen Shuning's sugar pancakes had just come out of the pan and he was about to use the oil in the pan to make a bok choy soup when he saw his parents, who didn't look too well, come home.

Chen Shuning had gotten used to it. It seemed that her parents were always in a bad mood whenever she came back from the front yard. Because of this, Chen Shuning was considering whether she should go and scare the old lady again in a few days, preferably enough to scare her away.

After the family finished breakfast, everyone who was supposed to go to work went to work, leaving Chen Shuning alone at home to clean up the dishes.

After tidying up the kitchen, Chen Shuning thought about the street she had unintentionally visited yesterday, and felt a little itchy.

Those houses will be designated as a cultural conservation area in the future, which means they will be quite valuable.

She could almost see piles of money beckoning to her. Just thinking about the days she would spend lying at home counting money made Chen Shuning unable to wait a moment longer. She changed her clothes, slung her little schoolbag over her shoulder, and went out the door.

Just before leaving the house, Chen Shuning was still wondering if He Chaoyang would come today.

To my surprise, as soon as I stepped out of my house, I saw that familiar black car parked at the entrance of the alley.

That tall figure, bathed in the morning sun, leaned against the car, exuding an indescribable handsomeness.

His gaze fell on Chen Shuning, carrying a faint smile and tenderness.

The thought of their parents meeting tonight made Chen Shuning blush instantly. She felt her heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat.

She tried to remain calm, stepped forward, and softly said, "You've come."

He Chaoyang smiled and nodded, opening the car door for her. Chen Shuning got in, sat next to him, and felt his presence, feeling incredibly happy.

He Chaoyang started the car, turned to look at Chen Shuning, and asked gently, "Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

Chen Shuning's face was filled with a happy smile as she softly replied, "Yesterday I stumbled upon a street with lots of food stalls, but I don't know its name. I'd like to go there."

When Chen Shuning mentioned delicious food, her eyes sparkled, which made He Chaoyang think of that kiss from that night and couldn't help but feel excited.

But knowing that the little girl was shy, he had to suppress his desire to kiss her.

He said in as calm a tone as possible, "You meant Suzaku Back Street, how did you end up there?"

Thinking about how the Xie family ended up in this predicament, it was all because of that street.

Chen Shuning had no idea about the Xie family, nor did she notice the change in He Chaoyang's expression when he heard about that street. She replied nonchalantly, "My classmate's family lives in the textile factory's residential compound over there. I got lost on my way home yesterday and stumbled upon that street by accident."

"Well, it's not very peaceful over there. Try not to go by yourself these days. If you really want to go, just look for me and I'll take you."

Although Xiangyang called him last night and said that the Xie family had found a witness to what happened back then, the damage had already been done. Xie Xiaoxi's reputation had already spread, and it was certain that Wei's youngest son would get a divorce.

The Xie family will also officially withdraw from the political stage because of this scandal, falling from a respected and prestigious family to the dust and becoming a topic of conversation and a laughing stock.

However, if Xie Xiangdong could hold onto that street tightly and turn it from the light to the dark, then the Xie family probably wouldn't have ended up being wiped out of Beijing.

It all depends on whether Xie Xiangdong can seize this opportunity. But no matter who ends up with that street, chaos is inevitable in the near future.

Chen Shuning nodded obediently to indicate that she understood.

Chen Shuning didn't care about that. As long as she knew that the houses in that area would be valuable in later generations, that was enough. Her goal today was to buy a house, and whether she went there later or not didn't matter.

For the rest of the journey, the two didn't say anything more, only occasionally glancing at each other with eyes full of love and tenderness.

Chen Shuning felt like she was dreaming. She never imagined she would have such a wonderful morning, shopping and looking at houses with the person she loved most.

At this moment, she really felt like she was getting married, even though the property she was going to look at later was just an investment and not a new house.

Thinking about the new house, Chen Shuning suddenly realized that she was not doing a very good job as a bride, and the wedding was about to take place.

But this bride-to-be didn't even know which way the front door of her new house faced. She felt a little ashamed thinking about it and decided that she would go and take a look when she had time later.
