Chapter 192 Spirit Spring Water

He Chaoyang slowly opened his eyes, saw Chen Shuning, and a smile appeared on his face.

It was only when the doctor next to them reminded them to go back to their ward that the two separated, their eyes still locked in a longing gaze.

As soon as the doctor moved him onto the hospital bed, He Chaoyang watched the doctors and nurses leave the ward and then laboriously raised his hand to touch Shu Ning's face, saying, "Wife, don't cry, I'm fine now, aren't I? Thanks to your bottle of water, it saved my life. Thank you, wife."

Chen Shuning grabbed his hand and said, "You silly boy, why are you saying all this? Don't forget you promised to grow old with me."

He Chaoyang smiled and said, "I know, don't worry, I have a wife now, how could I bear to die?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Shuning glared at He Chaoyang in annoyance. She wanted to slap him for saying such unlucky things, but seeing the thick bandages on He Chaoyang's body, she ultimately couldn't bring herself to do it.

She said irritably, "What nonsense are you talking about? You still have to live well even without me."

Seeing his wife's flushed face and red eyes, He Chaoyang felt a pang of heartache. He held Chen Shuning's hand tightly and said, "Okay, okay, I misspoke. Don't worry, wife, I will be more careful in the future and promise not to get hurt again."

Chen Shuning nodded in satisfaction and said, "You said it yourself, remember what you promised me today, don't go back on your word."

He Chaoyang said, "I promised you, and I will definitely keep my promise. However, before I get better, you have to promise me one thing."

Chen Shuning asked, "What is it?"

He Chaoyang said, "You must take good care of yourself and not worry me. No matter what happens, don't put yourself in danger, especially with valuable things. Never give them away easily. You know the saying 'possessing a treasure is a crime,' so I don't need to tell you. Understand?"

Chen Shuning immediately understood He Chaoyang's meaning, knowing that he knew about the spiritual spring water.

However, Chen Shuning did not regret giving He Chaoyang the spiritual spring water, because he had just learned from the doctor that He Chaoyang's injuries were extremely dangerous.

The bullet struck He Chaoyang in the chest again, the wound less than a centimeter away from where he had been injured before.

The force of the bullet's penetration caused He Chaoyang's still-healing wound to tear open again. Fortunately, the bullet only entered his body close to the major artery, so the damage to the major artery was not serious; otherwise, he would have been left on the battlefield.

Of course, this is what the doctor saw. At this moment, He Chaoyang knew that, given the speed at which he was bleeding, the bullet must have hit a major artery. It was his wife's bottle of water that saved his life.

He Chaoyang didn't want to pry into his wife's secret, but the water in her hand was too magical. If someone with ulterior motives found out, his wife might be in danger. That's why he reminded Chen Shuning.

Having understood the meaning behind He Chaoyang's words, Chen Shuning didn't offer any further explanation. She simply nodded earnestly and said, "I will, don't worry."

He Chaoyang said, "That's good. Honey, thank you. I feel very happy because of you."

Shuning said, "Me too, because of you, I am very happy."

They smiled at each other, their eyes only for one another. Their love, having withstood the test of life and death, had become even stronger and deeper.

Because He Chaoyang's injury was so close to his heart, Chen Shuning was very worried. She filled another cup with spiritual spring water for He Chaoyang and wanted him to drink it.

He Chaoyang took only one sip and immediately realized that it was precious spring water.

Although he didn't know where his wife got the water from, he knew that this kind of water with magical effects was definitely not ordinary, so he refused to drink it anymore.

"Wife, the doctor said my injury will heal with time. You should keep this precious water just in case."

He Chaoyang felt a warmth in his heart. He knew Chen Shuning cared about him, but he didn't want her to waste this precious spring water.

Chen Shuning shook his head and insisted that He Chaoyang drink it: "It's just some spring water, not some rare treasure. As long as you get better quickly, that's more important than anything else."

He Chaoyang wanted to refuse, but then he remembered that he had a bottle of water in his bag.

So he quickly sat up to look for his backpack.

He Chaoyang's actions terrified Chen Shuning. After all, this person had just come out of the operating room. How could he not lie still and move around like that?

So she quickly reached out to stop He Chaoyang from sitting up.

"Don't move around, the wound will reopen!" Chen Shuning said anxiously.

He Chaoyang smiled and said, "It's nothing, I just wanted to get something."

Knowing He Chaoyang's stubborn nature, Chen Shuning quickly helped him back onto the bed, saying, "I'll get you whatever you want. Just lie down properly."

He Chaoyang didn't dare disobey his wife, and he knew that she was doing this for his own good, so he obediently lay back down and said, "I only drank one bottle of the water you gave me. The other bottle is in my backpack. Go find it and keep it safe."

Upon hearing this, Chen Shuning didn't move at all. She looked at He Chaoyang and said, "I already said it's just some spring water, nothing rare. I have quite a lot more. You can keep that bottle of water yourself, just in case you need it someday."

He Chaoyang felt a warmth in his heart. Although he didn't know how much of that magical spring water his wife had, it was such a precious spring water that it could bring the dead back to life. The fact that his wife was willing to share it with him was enough to show that she loved him.
