The snowy road was slippery, but the old lady didn't have much trouble pulling Shen Hongmei along. However, Shen Hongmei, who was being pulled along, suffered a lot.
Because it was pulled backwards, and cotton-padded coats of that era were loose and baggy, Shen Hongmei's cotton-padded coat was dragged up to her waist before she had gone very far.
The snow on the ground poured in directly through the cotton-padded coat that had been lifted up, but the people walking ahead didn't notice at all.
The old lady was a talkative woman. She walked briskly with Shen Hongmei in her hand while chatting with He Chaoyang, who was carrying Chen Shuning on his back.
Chen Shuning, who was lying behind He Chaoyang, turned around to look at Shen Hongmei by the moonlight and immediately noticed that Shen Hongmei's clothes had been pulled up.
But just now, in order to make it look realistic, Shen Hongmei had raised her hands above her head due to the inertia of being dragged, so now it was impossible for her to even secretly tug at her cotton-padded coat.
This discovery made Chen Shuning laugh.
He Chaoyang, noticing his wife's subtle actions behind his back, gently patted Chen Shuning's bottom, signaling her to continue pretending.
The four of them walked for another twenty minutes or so. Perhaps Shen Hongmei was too cold to continue, because she started groaning and making noises behind them, trying to attract the attention of the people in front.
Unexpectedly, the old woman in front was chatting with He Chaoyang and didn't hear Shen Hongmei's voice.
He Chaoyang did hear it, but he had no liking for this woman who appeared out of nowhere and kept trying to get close to him. So he pretended not to hear it and chatted with the old lady in a rare good mood.
Enraged, Shen Hongmei behind him almost couldn't keep up the act anymore. Finally, she gritted her teeth and shouted, "Help! What's wrong with me? Help! Someone's kidnapping me!"
While shouting, Shen Hongmei also pulled hard on her bound leg as if in a state of panic.
The old lady in front then noticed that the person she was pulling behind had woken up. She was initially happy that she no longer had to pull such a big person along. Even though the snowy road was slippery, dragging someone weighing over 100 pounds was still quite tiring.
But when she heard what Shen Hongmei said, she became unhappy. What kidnapping? She had kindly helped her walk such a long way, how could she become a bad person who kidnapped her?
So the old woman turned around and walked towards Shen Hongmei behind her, looking at her with dissatisfaction as she pretended to be confused and kicked her legs hard.
Shen Hongmei, who had almost stumbled and fallen to the ground because she had wrapped a strip of cloth around her hand for easier dragging, shouted: "What nonsense are you talking about? Who could kidnap someone like you? I kindly pulled you all this way, how come you're calling me a bad person?"
"Alright, alright, now that you're awake, get up and walk yourself. You look so delicate, but you're quite heavy, almost as heavy as that old sow in the production team. You're going to exhaust me."
Shen Hong was so angry at being compared to an old sow that she almost fainted, but she dared not speak out because she was too cold. So she could only suppress all her resentment and quickly sat up to shake the snow out of her clothes. It was really too cold.
