Chapter 232 Widow Xie (Part Two)

Chen Shuning stood outside the crowd and listened for a while. To his surprise, he found that Accountant Wang's two children were also standing at the back of the crowd. Chen Shuning even saw a cold smile on their faces that was inappropriate for their age.

Upon recalling what she had just heard, Chen Shuning instinctively felt that this matter seemed to be inextricably linked to the two children.

Logically speaking, Yang Wanqiu came to Accountant Wang's house every night. It would be impossible for the two children not to notice that there was an extra person in the house. She certainly didn't believe it.

The two children acted as if they knew nothing, and this cunning was enough for Chen Shuning to believe that framing the unsuspecting Yang Wanqiu was more than enough.

However, Chen Shuning didn't offer any advice to Yang Wanqiu. Watching the endless argument between Widow Xie and Yang Wanqiu, Chen Shuning was genuinely worried about the intelligence of Yang Wanqiu, the original female lead.

I really don't know how someone with such character and intelligence can support the role of a strong female lead in a book. It's like having a stupid daughter is the best outcome.

I really don't understand how Yang Wanqiu in the book managed to live such a successful life, trampling one excellent female supporting character after another underfoot. Was it just because of that so-called protagonist halo?

The commotion naturally alerted the brigade leader. The old man had drunk some wine that night and was sleeping soundly. He was initially a little unhappy when his wife woke him up, but when he heard that something had happened at Widow Xie's house, his head spun.

This widow Xie caused quite a stir when she was young, and now that she's older, she's finally had a few days of peace and quiet, so what kind of trouble is she causing now?

Thinking of this, the old man put on his cotton-padded coat and rushed outside.

As soon as I arrived, I heard Widow Xie and Yang Wanqiu arguing in the courtyard.

This widow Xie was truly a shameless woman. Seeing that she couldn't get the better of Yang Wanqiu verbally, she resorted to taunts, pointing at the quilt on Yang Wanqiu's body and shouting, "You little slut, how dare you look down on my Dabao like that? Then why are you still wearing his quilt? Give it back to me right now!"

As Widow Xie spoke, she reached out to pull the quilt off Yang Wanqiu. Although these widows were old, they were used to doing farm work, and Yang Wanqiu was no match for them.

Despite her best efforts to resist, Widow Xie snatched the blanket away in no time.

You should know that Yang Wanqiu was not wearing anything under the covers. Once the covers that were meant to cover her were taken away, how could Yang Wanqiu stay there? With a howl, she crawled back into Xie Dabao's room.

The timid and cowardly Xie Dabao was already terrified when he saw so many people coming to his house. He was hiding inside, peering through the door and listening to the commotion outside.

Just as they were listening, Yang Wanqiu, who had just run out, ran back and, by sheer coincidence, bumped right into Xie Dabao, knocking him to the ground.

When the onlookers entered the house, they saw Xie Dabao lying sprawled on the ground and Yang Wanqiu, naked, lying on top of him.

Now Yang Wanqiu was in a bind, unable to explain herself even if she had a hundred mouths. She didn't care whether others saw it or not, since she had already seen it anyway.

She looked up and saw Xie Dabao's cotton-padded coat on the kang (a heated brick bed). She reached out, grabbed it, and put it on. This time, she was smarter and didn't argue with Widow Xie. She put on the coat and rushed out, running towards the educated youth settlement.

Shen Baogen, the brigade leader, had never felt so frustrated as he had today. He had been standing in the courtyard for half a day, unable to get a word in edgewise, and no one had asked for his opinion.

It wasn't until he saw Yang Wanqiu running out wearing only a cotton-padded coat that the old man realized that this matter was unlikely to end well.

Sure enough, Yang Wanqiu went to the town's public security bureau early the next morning to report the case, saying that someone had drugged her.

Yang Wanqiu was too flustered when the incident happened, which is why she kept getting entangled with Widow Xie.

Once she returned to the educated youth settlement and calmed down, she realized that she seemed to have fallen for the tricks of those two brats from the Wang family.

Accountant Wang was clearly away from home today, and she had indeed been deliberately trying to make those two kids in the Wang family aware of her existence lately.

She hated those two who knew about her relationship with their father but pretended not to, and who looked down on her whenever they met.

She was annoyed by what she saw, but she never dreamed that those two little brats, the older one of whom was only twelve, would dare to scheme against her.

It must be those two brats. Only they know that every day when she goes there, Accountant Wang prepares a bowl of malted milk powder for her. Her fainting this time must be because there was something wrong with the bowl of malted milk powder she drank.

Thinking of this, Yang Wanqiu could no longer lie still. She got up, dressed, and secretly left the educated youth settlement, heading towards Accountant Wang's house.

Everyone had already left, but the light was still on in the room. Lamp oil was quite expensive these days, and given how stingy that girl was, she definitely wouldn't have turned on the light if she were asleep. So the two of them must still be awake.

Yang Wanqiu was no longer in a hurry. She hid by the woodpile in front of Accountant Wang's house and kept observing the situation in Wang's yard.

Sure enough, Yang Wanqiu soon saw the front door of Accountant Wang's house open, and the two little ones peeked out furtively. After looking around to make sure no one was there, they quietly slipped out the door.

Yang Wanqiu clearly saw that Wang Dani was holding the bowl she had used to drink malted milk powder that evening, while Wang Zhuang behind her was carrying a pickaxe.

The two carefully looked around before leaving, and only when they saw no one did they quietly head towards the back of the mountain.

Ultimately, they were still a bit too young. When they heard Widow Xie and Yang Wanqiu arguing, they were both scared and shouted that they were going to call the police. You see, the reason why Yang Wanqiu fainted at Widow Xie's door was all the work of the two siblings.
