Chapter 26 Being watched

Looking up at the others, she saw that the aunties on either side of her had already walked quite a distance away. Now, only she and Yang Wanqiu were still squatting on the ground, barely having taken more than a few steps. She sighed inwardly once more.

After unscrewing the kettle cap and taking a big gulp of the spiritual spring water, at least feeling that his throat was no longer so burning, he resignedly put on his gloves and continued pulling weeds.

With the help of two full pots of spiritual spring water, Chen Shuning managed to persevere until noon. However, while others had already pulled more than half of their rows, she had only managed to pull a pitiful third.

Glancing at Yang Wanqiu beside her, Chen Shuning felt a little better, because Yang Wanqiu's progress was not as good as hers.

Yang Wanqiu, who was in the same team as Chen Shuning, was in no better shape. Wearing short sleeves, her arms, neck, and face were covered with large red marks from the wheat awns, making her look even more disheveled than Zhong Lingling.

She had taken good precautions and had no injuries on her body or face; she was simply exhausted.

Exhausted, Chen Shuning handed the lunchbox containing the washed rice to the female educated youth who was cooking for the day. Without even checking the backyard, she collapsed onto her bed in the storage room. At this moment, she really didn't care about being covered in dust or dirt. Once on the bed, Chen Shuning declared that she didn't want to move at all.

Almost the instant Chen Shuning climbed into bed, Zhong Lingling groaned and pounced into the bed next to her.
