Chapter 95 He Chaoyang Reunited

After picking the last bunch of mushrooms at his feet and putting them into the bamboo basket behind him, Chen Shuning rubbed his sore legs and stood up.

She looked around but didn't see anyone else. She had been so excited about the piles of mushrooms that she had wandered off without even noticing that the voices of other people were fading away.

However, Chen Shuning wasn't afraid, because she had decent survival skills in the wild. She used to go camping in the mountains with a group of friends. She had left many traces as she moved through the bushes, so it wouldn't be difficult to find her way back.

Moreover, she has quite a few stun guns in her space, so she's not afraid of wild animals. She can just hide in her space if necessary. She's not worried that the wild animals in the mountains will tell on her or capture her for research.

So, Chen Shuning, who was getting bolder and bolder, did not rush back, but instead walked deeper into the forest.

Chen Shuning marked the trees she passed with a machete along the way, and also stored any dead branches she saw into her spatial storage. Although He Chaoyang had prepared a lot of firewood for her, Sister Shumei said that even that much firewood wouldn't be enough to last the whole winter in Heilongjiang Province.

After walking a long way, Chen Shuning was pleasantly surprised to find two tall chestnut trees. He wondered if the recent snowstorm had blown all the chestnuts off the trees.

The ground around the tree was covered with a layer of small green fluff balls, which filled Chen Shuning with surprise and delight.

Chen Shuning tossed some of the mushrooms and hazelnuts he had picked earlier from the bamboo basket into his spatial storage, then took out thick gloves from his storage and put them on before starting to scoop chestnuts into the bamboo basket. Even after the basket was full, Chen Shuning still looked at the chestnuts scattered all over the ground with some reluctance.

Although there were chestnut trees in the space, Chen Shuning couldn't bear to let so many chestnuts rot there, so after thinking about it, he squatted down and collected all the chestnuts on the ground into the space.

Chen Shuning's space can only store things she touches, so after she finished collecting the chestnuts on the ground, Chen Shuning was so tired that she could barely straighten her back.

With a sore back, Chen Shuning struggled to carry the full bamboo basket on her back. Just as she was about to turn back, she faintly heard hurried footsteps and voices.

At first, Chen Shuning didn't pay much attention, assuming that she was just a villager who had gone a little further to collect wild produce, so she focused on rummaging through the grass looking for mushrooms.

But as the voices drew closer, and he vaguely heard something about "Mr. Meng" and "If you can take the goods out successfully, you'll be rich," Chen Shuning knew that these people couldn't possibly be villagers who were collecting mountain goods.

But by the time she realized these people might not be good people and wanted to leave, it was too late, because the group had already discovered her presence.

Just as Chen Shuning turned around to run away, he saw a tall figure rushing towards him.

Instinctively, I dodged backward and fell straight to the ground.

Fortunately, she had stored all the chestnuts on the ground into her spatial storage, otherwise her bottom would have suffered terribly if she had sat on them.

However, because Chen Shuning dodged quickly, he escaped a disaster.

Sitting on the ground, Chen Shuning could clearly see that the black figure rushing towards him was a tall man over 1.8 meters. A scar on his face, running from his forehead to his mouth, made him look even more ferocious and terrifying. And in the hand that reached out to him, he was holding a dagger that gleamed coldly.

It seems that the person just now intended to attack him with the dagger in his hand.

Chen Shuning knew without a doubt that someone who would draw their sword against him without even asking what happened was no good, so he didn't hold back at all.

As the burly man missed his attack and reached out to grab Chen Shuning again, Chen Shuning calmly rolled towards the man's feet.

Then, with a thought, he took out a high-intensity stun gun from his spatial storage, which he had prepared to deal with wild beasts on the mountain, and shocked the big man's leg with it.

With a series of crackling electrical sounds, the unsuspecting burly man convulsed and collapsed to the ground.

Chen Shuning, unsure whether the others had arrived, dared not easily perform the "disappearing act" to hide in the space, so he had no choice but to run in the opposite direction from where the big man had come from.

Chen Shuning hadn't run far when the people who arrived later discovered the burly man's failure. Chen Shuning only heard a commotion behind her, followed by heavy footsteps chasing after her.

He could faintly hear things like "Gangzi, go after him," "Don't let him get away," and "Don't shoot him alive." These words terrified Chen Shuning, who quickly dropped the bamboo basket on his back and ran as fast as he could.

At this moment, Chen Shuning didn't care about the direction; he just wanted to shake off the footsteps behind him as soon as possible and hide in the space.

The reason Chen Shuning didn't dare to hide inside right now was because she was afraid that people behind her would see her. After all, the most powerful weapon in her space was the stun gun from the outdoor goods store.

Not to mention firearms, there wasn't even a long machete. Moreover, unless faced with a life-or-death situation, Chen Shuning didn't really have the guts to kill someone to cover it up. Therefore, he had no choice but to wait until he had created a safe distance before entering the space.

But the people behind her were clearly more accustomed to running through the woods full of weeds and shrubs.

As time went on, Chen Shuning's strength was clearly waning. Her speed was getting slower and slower, and instead of widening the gap with the people behind her, she was being chased closer and closer until she could see the shadowy figures through the branches.
