Chapter 127 Offering Unsolicited Favors

Before Ma Xiaorong could ask her about the roses, Xiang Nanzhi immediately went inside, leading two people into the back studio, where they began designing and making the roses in front of her.

She has high standards and is very straightforward; she's blunt and doesn't mince words.

Ma Xiaorong was afraid that she would scare the person away.

She would go over to check on them from time to time, but she was obviously overthinking it. People who are focused on their work don't care about so many details. Xiang Nanzhi was also quite nice to them, making each of them a cup of coffee to refresh them.

She was different from other socialites in the ancient city. She used to think that Xiang Nanzhi was too spoiled. As Xiang Zhengyi's daughter, it was harmless for her to be a little spoiled.

But now I realize that she can be both pretentious and down-to-earth, and she can control herself perfectly.

Other socialites in the ancient city wouldn't do that; they all have princess syndrome and are used to a life of high status. Asking them to serve tea and water is almost impossible for them; they would feel it would damage their reputation.

On-site design and production is a very demanding task. The two designers were constantly rushing to meet deadlines, working non-stop until after 11 p.m.

Midway through the meal, Xiang Nanzhi received a call from home asking her to come back for dinner. She didn't go, but she ordered a late-night snack: a large plate of spicy crayfish, snails, small yellow croaker, and lamb skewers...

Ma Xiaorong also had work to do at the Xiang family's place, so she had to hurry back and called other people to help watch the shop.

The meeting ended at 11:30 p.m. Xiang Nanzhi yawned. The two designers had finished the product, but they were so tired that they could barely keep their eyes open. They handed the product to Xiang Nanzhi.

Xiang Nanzhi glanced at it; everything was done right under her nose, so what could be wrong? Just by looking at the setup, she knew she had found the right person.

Ma Xiaorong is always very reliable.

"Let's eat. I've prepared dinner for you."

"No."

"Don't be so polite. Since you're going to work for me in the future, I can't just take advantage of you. You can talk to me directly about anything in the future, no need to hide anything from me."

"Ten thousand a month, starting tomorrow. You get a commission on each design you sell, and you also get a commission if you get more than fifteen designs approved by me in a month. If you're interested, come over tomorrow."

Both of them were a little confused. She had made such a big show of things, and they both thought she only wanted one, so they went all out. But it turned out she wanted both!

“My name is Xiang Rachel, you can just call me Rachel.”

"Sister Qiu."

"Hmm, your name is Zhang Man, and your name is Zhou Zilu?"

"right."

Xiang Nanzhi took out two red envelopes and said, "It's nice to meet you all. You've worked hard today."

One for each of them, but neither of them dared to take it. "Take it. I can't let you work for nothing today. I do design myself, and I know it's tiring. Whether you come tomorrow or not, I will pay you for today."

"Take it!"

Xiang Nanzhi held one in each hand, but neither of them accepted it, which made her a little embarrassed.

Who is this person who won't even accept a red envelope?

He had no choice but to stuff the money into their hands. "I won't make empty promises. My place is small, and I can't guarantee you'll have a bright future. But as long as I want to make money and the studio makes money, I won't treat you unfairly."

Xiang Nanzhi treated the two to crayfish and some cola. Everyone chatted happily. As they ate, Xiang Nanzhi remembered her pregnancy, and the spicy crayfish in her hand suddenly lost its appeal.

She's pregnant. Can she eat crayfish? She just ate quite a lot and also drank cola...

She remembered a news report she had seen before, saying that crayfish have parasites, lots and lots of parasites, and wondered if they would have any effect on her child.

As she left, Xiang Nanzhi closed the door. The antique market had fallen completely silent, just like her heavy heart.

She would always forget she was pregnant when she had a craving. Even after experiencing morning sickness, she would wear loose-fitting clothes and put on makeup as usual, making it impossible to tell she was pregnant.

It had started raining outside sometime earlier, and a cool raindrop landed on her face. Xiang Nanzhi raised her hand, and the rain seemed to be getting heavier.

That's how summer rain is; it either doesn't fall at all, or it comes suddenly. A loud rumble in the sky startled Xiang Nanzhi, making him shudder.

Perhaps it was because of the sudden drop in temperature; she was wearing a halter neck today, with both arms exposed. Her neck was long and white, and her hair was naturally loose, slightly disheveled by the wind.

There were no umbrellas in the store, so walking to the car now wouldn't get you very wet; you'd just get a few drops of rain on your clothes. If you didn't run soon, it would start raining harder.

Xiang Nanzhi covered her head with her bag, lowered her head and ran outside, bumping into a warm embrace.

Seeing the suit fabric in front of him, Xiang Nanzhi moved the bag aside, suddenly looked up, and exclaimed, "Heavy..."

She was overthinking it. Shen Shixun didn't come back. The man in front of her was Song Ze. Even in the night, the man was still indifferent and looked cold. He held a black umbrella over her head. "Why don't you like to bring an umbrella when you go out?"

Xiang Nanzhi was taken aback and subconsciously took a step back.

The man sensed that she was afraid of him, so he didn't go any further. Instead, he handed her his umbrella, saying, "Take this, don't get wet in the rain. It's not good for pregnant women to get wet."

His voice was magnetic, and he gave her a rare, faint smile. In the past, Song Ze rarely smiled and always had a stern face in front of her, like an iceberg that she could never melt.

Xiang Nanzhi took the umbrella from his hand. "Thank you."

The rain was about to get heavier, and she had to leave quickly. She nodded politely to Nan Zhi, turned around, and walked away. After what happened last time, she didn't want to have any more unnecessary words with him.

"etc."

The man reached out his hand, but Nan Zhi hesitated, saying, "Song Ze, let's part ways amicably."

Song Ze took off his clothes. "The weather forecast says it's getting colder recently, so I can't wear so little next time. It'll be a bit cool in the next few days."

He offered to drape it over her shoulders, but Xiang Nanzhi shook her head, "No need."

"What, we're not even ordinary friends now? I was too impulsive before and hurt you."

Given his current relationship with Xiang Yunduan, what did it mean that he would bring her a coat? Suddenly, a downpour began, and Song Ze couldn't put it on her himself, but he insisted on giving it to her.

He clearly didn't intend to linger in the rain; he only had this one umbrella. "Nanzhi, I'm leaving. Take care on your way home."

After Song Ze finished speaking, he left. Xiang Nanzhi wanted to hand him the clothes again, but when she stretched out her hand, she only touched the rain outside. "Song Ze..."

The man left without looking back. Xiang Nanzhi went to the car, put away her umbrella, and threw her coat on the passenger seat.

It was raining heavily, and the windshield wipers were constantly running. Her older brother called to say he was coming to pick her up, but Xiang Nanzhi declined.

"Brother, you should go to sleep early. I can manage on my own. It's just driving. I'll be careful."
