Chapter 139 I am his husband

Squatting down to eat together, Zhang Yandong looked at his area when he came in and cleared his throat.

Shen Shixun got up, carrying a boxed lunch, and followed Zhang Yandong into his office.

Zhang Yandong sat down, his men had packed up some good wine and food and placed it on the table. "What's wrong with having dinner with me? Aren't you disgusted eating with those workers all the time?"

Zhang Yandong has some bad habits; he looks down on the poor. If it weren't for Shen Shixun saving his life, he probably wouldn't have taken him seriously.

Shen Shixun had finished eating and took the last bite. "Did you need something?"

"Were you late this morning?"

"Um."

"Has Xiang Nan informed you?"

This involves personal privacy, so Shen Shixun didn't say anything.

Zhang Yandong opened the chopsticks and handed them to him, but he didn't take them, saying, "I've already eaten."

"Be a little more careful with your cooperation with Master Zhou, don't fall into his trap."

"I know what I'm doing."

——

After get off work, Shen Shixun drove to find Xiang Nanzhi. Just as he got into the car, he suddenly received a call from Xiang Nanzhi.

The call was connected, but it was immediately disconnected.

Xiang Nanzhi never expected that she would be bewitched by a stranger in a bustling street.

She had gone to buy something, and as she walked out of the street and into the parking lot, a girl suddenly asked her for help, saying that her pet was lost and asking if she could help.

Xiang Nanzhi vaguely remembered seeing a white dog somewhere and asked the other person, "Was it a white teacup dog?"

"Yes, you've seen him before?"

"Can you tell me where I've seen this before? Can you take me there?"

Xiang Nanzhi gave a brief explanation, but the other person still didn't know the location, so she had no choice but to take them there first. They walked to a quiet, deserted corner of the street. Xiang Nanzhi remembered seeing the dog run past her when she passed by, heading towards this spot.

While she was thinking, her mouth was covered, and she couldn't muster any strength.

Just as she was about to lose consciousness, two men appeared in front of her.

It was too late to run away.

Shen Shixun went to the antique market, but Xiang Nanzhi wasn't in the studio; instead, her two employees were there.

Zhang Man and Zhou Zilu both remembered him. "Hello, sir."

"I'm looking for Xiang Nanzhi."

The two looked at each other, puzzled. "We don't have anyone named Xiang Nanzhi here. Are you looking for Sister Qiu?"

Shen Shixun belatedly realized that she wouldn't easily reveal her name.

"Yes, Miss Rachel."

"Who are you to him?"

"Her husband."

Zhou Zilu's pupils dilated in shock, and Zhang Man wasn't much better off.

Neither of them knew where Xiang Nanzhi had gone, but she posted a photo of herself buying a cake in the group chat. They knew the shop and told Shen Shixun the approximate location.

The man drove over to the parking lot and searched the area, but couldn't find Xiang Nanzhi.

At this moment, Xiang Nanzhi was trapped in a building above the block. From the building, one could see the entire block below, but the distance was too great to make out the details.

She had a splitting headache, felt nauseous, clutched her lower abdomen, and experienced some spasms.

The room was empty; the French windows could be opened. Her voice was weak as she whispered, "Help..."

"Help……"

Calling for help to the ground was completely impossible; the doorway was clearly locked. She crawled over to try and open the door, but couldn't. She could only call for help through the window.

Watching the pedestrians passing by in the street, Xiang Nanzhi's temples throbbed. She circled the empty house, finding nothing that she could move.

She bit her lip, used all her strength to lift a stool, and was about to throw it out of the French window when she was afraid of hitting a pedestrian.

no!

She looked for other small items, but couldn't find them anywhere. The house was basically uninhabited, and the floor was covered in dust. She managed to get a large basin of water from the kitchen, but she was too weak to lift it, and the water spilled all over the floor.

After getting wet, she became a little more awake, splashed some cold water on herself, and patted her wrists.

Xiang Nanzhi went to the kitchen again, this time only filling a small half-bucket with water. Without hesitation, she poured it down onto the bustling street...

Besides, does Xiang Nan know how to attract people's attention?

Half a bucket after another, Xiang Nanzhi poured several buckets of water down the drain until she was exhausted and out of breath.

Shen Shixun walked around the cake shop several times after leaving, but still couldn't find anyone. When he reached a certain spot, he noticed that the ground was wet.

A pedestrian was splashed with water while passing by and looked up at the tall building above, yelling, "Who is it? Don't you have any manners?"

"In broad daylight, are you crazy?"

Shen Shixun didn't take it seriously. The pedestrian wasn't from the neighborhood and wouldn't take these things too seriously. He just muttered something and left.

The ground was soaked, clearly water had been splashed from the same spot.

Shen Shixun was anxious to find Xiang Nanzhi, but he couldn't get through on the phone or get a reply to her messages, and he felt uneasy.

As the man walked across the damp ground, he took a few steps, then suddenly turned around, and a few drops of water splashed onto his face.

Turning around, the ground behind me was wet again...

The man looked up at the tall building, lost in thought.

Xiang Nanzhi was exhausted. She leaned against the French windows, panting heavily.

I suddenly remembered Shen Shixun's words: Don't be a pushover, and don't always think about helping others.

Never trust what strangers say.

Those who want to lure her into the game will always try their best to do so. Looking back now, I guess she started to get involved the moment I saw that little dog run towards that blind spot.
