Chapter 13 Young girl, thinking about men every day

"What diary?"

Ling Huanwu feigned ignorance, glancing at Zhou Shuyao, whose expression was intriguing, before finally settling on Zhou Jiuzhen beside her, whose expression remained unchanged. A sense of unease crept into her heart.

Song Yaoyao, however, brazenly pulled out a leather-bound diary from her bosom and displayed it to everyone, saying, "Look, everyone, this is her diary, and her name is written on it!"

Everyone craned their necks to look at the diary, and sure enough, Ling Huanwu's name was written on it.

"No way, Ling Zhiqing likes Zhou's second son? Everyone knows Zhou's second son likes Song Zhiqing. Where does that leave Commander Zhou's reputation?"

"That Ling Zhiqing is really something, isn't he just ruining the relationship between those two brothers?"

"I always said those capitalist ladies in those circles have really messy private lives. They like younger brothers but marry older brothers. They're shameless!"

The group of educated youths watching at the door chattered amongst themselves. When they saw Song Yaoyao take out her diary, their minds automatically conjured up images of it filled with countless words of unrequited love.

She had already concluded that Ling Huanwu had feelings for her husband's younger brother.

This is exactly the kind of sensational gossip that everyone loves to hear during their leisure time.

Zhou Shuyao suppressed the corners of his lips that were turned up, glanced at his elder brother whose face was gloomy, and waved his hand to signal the educated youth comrades at the door to stop talking, "Comrades, don't talk nonsense, what's with all this talk about liking or disliking? We're all one family, don't you think?"

Although he said that, he did not stop Song Yaoyao from opening her diary and reading aloud.

However, Wang Guihua, the mother-in-law, jumped up from her chair and rushed over to snatch the diary from Song Yaoyao's hand, yelling, "Second daughter-in-law, who told you to touch someone else's diary!"

Song Yaoyao nimbly dodged her mother-in-law's hand, hid behind Ling's parents, and opened her diary to read aloud.

"My God, is that Zhou family kid at least 1.9 meters tall? And he's so burly. Wouldn't it be uncomfortable for his wife to lie on top of him?!"

"That day, the other female educated youths shamelessly said on the tractor that he was 16. Based on my experience in drawing, I estimate he was at least 18!"

"Oh my god! My legs went weak the moment I saw him today, and I tripped and fell flat on my face right in front of him. It was so embarrassing! Does he think all city girls are spineless...?"

As Song Yaoyao read, a smug smile of triumph crept across her lips. She shouted at Ling Huanwu, "Look, you've written so blatantly in your diary! You're clearly lusting after my Shuyao's body! How could you do this, sister? You're a disgrace to our parents!"

After this long passage was read, not only did the educated youth watching outside blush, but even the old woman who had seen many storms and witnessed the great genes of the Zhou family blushed and covered her face in embarrassment.

You should know that the reason why the mother-in-law chose Ling Huanwu as her daughter-in-law at first sight was because she was attracted to Ling Huanwu's delicate figure.

How could she not know about the son she raised herself? Besides, he inherited her dead husband's special talent, which is definitely not something an ordinary girl could accept!

A moment of silence fell over the room. Ling's mother, her face flushed, took a deep breath and jumped up from her chair. Pointing at Ling Huanwu with trembling fingers, she began to scold her sharply, "You shameless rebellious daughter! Have you wasted your education? You're so young and you're thinking about men all the time. If you were half as sensible as your sister, your father and I wouldn't have to worry about you every day. You've disappointed us so much!"

Father Ling also stood up, indignantly echoing, "Yao Yao's mother saved our lives, and you actually have improper thoughts about your brother-in-law! Yao Yao even said yesterday that she would give you half of her dowry. You've really gone too far! Apologize to your sister right now! Or believe me, I'll break your legs!"

He grew angrier as he spoke, and subconsciously raised his hand to slap Ling Huanwu.

As the slap was raised into the air, a strong and powerful hand clamped down on his wrist, almost crushing it.

Ling's father turned around in surprise and met the cold, calm gaze of his eldest son-in-law, Zhou Jiuzhen.

"Father-in-law, it's wrong of you to hit her, isn't it? Ling Tong... Huan Wu didn't do anything wrong. She's a grown woman, how can you just hit her like that?"

"She didn't do anything wrong? Son-in-law, you don't know how unruly she was when she was little. She always took Yao Yao's things and often bullied Yao Yao..."

Ling's father pulled his hand away from hers, which was gripped so tightly it hurt, and began to berate Ling Huanwu in a loud voice.

They completely disregarded the disdain their daughter would receive from her in-laws for revealing her shameful secrets.

But Zhou Jiuzhen didn't give him a chance to continue his rant, interrupting him directly.

“Father-in-law, what you just said is not right. I remember Huanwu is your biological daughter, so how can you say that she stole something from an outsider like Comrade Song? That originally belonged to Huanwu!”

Seeing that some people around him seemed to understand and nodded in agreement with Zhou Jiuzhen's words, Ling's father felt that he had lost face, and said with his neck stiff, "Yaoyao is the daughter of our savior. If it weren't for Yaoyao's mother, we would all be dead long ago, so what's wrong with us asking her to give way to Yaoyao!"

"That's right. You said that Comrade Song's mother saved you, so why should Huanwu repay you? Why should she repay you?"

This time, Zhou Jiuzhen let him finish speaking in one breath, directly asking the questions that had been on his mind.

He had long noticed that his in-laws clearly favored their adopted daughter, treating their biological daughter like an enemy.

Unexpectedly, they were such a pair of parents who sought fame and fortune by aggrieving their own daughter in order to repay a debt of gratitude.

A few words, like a hot spring flowing through my heart.

Ling Huanwu stood there, stunned, experiencing for the first time what it felt like to have someone backing you up and not to fight alone.

She was originally waiting for Ling's parents to say something even more hurtful.
