Chapter 132 A Powerful Rescue for His Wife, Pampering Her in Public

The contempt in Zhou Jiuzhen's tone just now enraged the guards in the courtyard who had been idle for years.

Two guards drew their knives and attacked from both sides, the cold light aimed directly at Zhou Jiuzhen's face.

Ling Huanwu cried out in surprise from upstairs, only to see Zhou Jiuzhen advance instead of retreating. He precisely grabbed the wrist of the man holding the knife on his left with his left hand and pulled him back sharply, forcing the blade to slash at his companion.

With another graceful turn, he simultaneously bent his right elbow and delivered a swift knee strike to the abdomen of the man on his right. The man groaned and arched his body, allowing him to disarm the man of his short knife. He then struck the back of the neck with the back of the blade, and the man fell straight down.

In less than half a minute, he had taken down all the remaining people.

The last thug who tried to escape had just climbed over the wall when Zhou Jiuzhen grabbed an iron bar from the ground and threw it at him.

The iron rod whistled through the air and struck the man squarely in the ankle. He screamed and fell into the courtyard, where he was immediately pinned down by the soldiers who rushed up to him.

Zhou Jiuzhen dusted off his hands, looked up at the second-floor window, and his gaze softened slightly when it met Ling Huanwu's, but it still carried an undeniable domineering air. He mouthed, "Comrade Ling, don't be afraid, I'm here."

Before the soldiers could set up a ladder, he grabbed a thick branch of the old sycamore tree outside the wall, lightly touched the trunk with his toes a few times, and nimbly climbed up to the second-floor windowsill like a cheetah. He then removed the iron nails that were securing the window.

The wooden window creaked open, and the moment Zhou Jiuzhen reached out through the iron bars to pull her into his arms, Ling Huanwu looked at the dust on his military uniform shoulders, the fine sweat on his forehead, and then recalled his clean and efficient skills in taking on multiple opponents. Suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes.

It wasn't fear, but excitement, peace of mind, and the burning warmth of watching one's hero overcome danger.

“Nine earthquakes…” she choked, clutching his clothes tightly, her voice trembling with the shock of surviving a disaster.

He lowered his head to wipe away her tears, his fingertips calloused yet exceptionally gentle, his tone still carrying the decisiveness of a soldier: "It's alright, I'll take you home."

Ling Huanwu suddenly stopped crying, glanced at the soldiers and police officers filing in below, and looked up at him with a puzzled expression, "Didn't I tell you to wait for me obediently by the sea? When did you gather so many people to arrest me?"

"So you weren't here to come to the city with me to find clients, but on a mission!"

Zhou Jiuzhen touched his nose guiltily, "I was indeed on a mission just now. As soon as the police received news from the villagers that Qin Jinshen had imprisoned them, they notified us to assist. I was afraid that something might happen if you came to see him, so I boarded your fishing boat."

As he spoke, he reached for the small bag he had been carrying on his back, took out a bottle of floral water, and dripped it onto the red welts she had gotten from mosquito bites while walking through the woods, then gently rubbed them in.

He took another towel and wiped her face, which was covered in tears.

Finally, he took out a small comb and helped her comb her hair, which had been messed up by the sea breeze.

Zhou Jiuzhen stood on the wall outside the window, his gaze lingering on Ling Huanwu, making these silent movements naturally.

The bag of prepared items didn't seem like something he'd prepared for a last-minute mission; it was clearly something he'd prepared the night before to go to the city with Ling Huanwu.

The soldiers and police officers who had just subdued Qin Jinshen's men downstairs had barely stood up to catch their breath when they saw two people cuddling together at the window, one on the other side.

Zhou Jiuzhen's series of actions left the people below dumbfounded.

Seeing that everyone below was looking at the two of them, Ling Huanwu's cheeks flushed red, and she lightly punched his shoulder with her fist, "Stop messing around, everyone downstairs is watching, hurry up and finish your task!"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Jiuzhen seemed to snap out of his daze and shouted angrily to those below, "Stop looking, hurry up and arrest them!"

The officers below quickly found tools to pry open the second wooden door in the living room and headed straight for the room on the second floor where Zhou Jiuzhen had just been.

As soon as Guard Ma rushed upstairs, he saw Qin Jinshen lying unconscious on the ground.

Without much hesitation or surprise at the sudden emptiness of the living room, he rushed over, picked up Qin Jinshen, and ran upstairs.

Zhou Jiuzhen broke the iron bars on the window with his bare hands, jumped through the window, and chased after his comrades who came up from downstairs to the third floor.

As they chased the helicopter to the corner, they heard the sound of its rotors. Their expressions changed drastically, and they quickened their pace as they ran upstairs.

They had already laid a trap around the boats on the beach, and the fishermen who had just been bribed by Qin Jinshen and his gang to cause the fishing boat explosion were also under their control.

They originally thought that as long as Qin Jinshen was found guilty of imprisoning the villagers, they would blockade the island and Qin Jinshen would have no chance of escaping.

Unexpectedly, he had prepared a helicopter on the rooftop, ready to escape at any time.

When Zhou Jiuzhen and the police officers arrived at the rooftop, they were still a step too late.

The helicopter turned around, creating a gust of wind, and flew towards the depths of the sea.

The arrogant, wolf-like voice of the guard Ma could even be heard circling in the air: "Zhou Jiuzhen, you wait, we will be back!"

Zhou Jiuzhen raised his gun and aimed it at the helicopter's propeller.

But remembering Political Commissar Hao's instructions to capture him alive, he calmly put down his gun.

On the beach.

The escort vessel sounded its horn to signal a retreat and set sail again.

Zhou Jiuzhen carried Ling Huanwu and quickly climbed the ropes up the stairs to the boat with one hand.

His astonishing arm strength left the people below speechless with envy.

The group of survivors, who had just escaped the explosion, were struggling to carry Zhou Shuyao and were wondering how to get him onto the boat when they were suddenly confronted with a display of affection by two people swinging along the ropes of the stairs beside the boat.

Lin Xiaoqin put down Zhou Shuyao's leg and cursed, "Commander Zhou's brother, I'm not trying to be mean, but can't you get down and walk by yourself? Commander Zhou just said there was a bomb, and you ran faster than a rabbit. Why are you pretending to be dead and not moving at all now!"
