"Hey girl, what are you doing here so late?"
When the widower saw a woman approaching, he immediately became alert.
Song Yaoyao unbuttoned two buttons on her collar, pretending to be panicked as she ran and cried while wiping her eyes, heading towards the direction of the widower.
"Big brother, my man is about to beat me to death! Waaaaah..."
She cried, deliberately stumbled, and fell into the old widower's arms. She grabbed his dark hand and pressed it against her soft heart, crying with tears streaming down her face.
The old widower had never seen anything like this before, and he quickly and righteously pushed her away, saying, "Oh, it's Zhou's second son's wife! You should go back now. Director Ling said you can't come near the commune!"
Song Yaoyao was ruthlessly pushed to the ground by the old widower, her palms clenching tightly as she wiped them on the ground.
The hunchbacked cowman strode over, reached out and grabbed Song Yaoyao by the back of her collar, about to throw her out.
The kerosene lamp beside them flickered, and a soft, boneless hand climbed onto the back of the widower's hand, its fingertips lightly touching and slowly moving upwards.
The widower watched in disbelief as a delicate, fair hand slowly untied his belt, his pupils dilating in shock, his very soul trembling.
The heavy rain that had just stopped returned with a vengeance, pouring down again...
Three hours later, the widower, looking apologetic, carried the woman who kept sneezing into the small wooden bed he usually used to nap on night watch.
"Don't worry, little sister, I'll take responsibility for you. As long as you divorce your man, I'll marry you immediately!"
Song Yaoyao felt like her whole body was falling apart.
This farmhand has so many tricks up his sleeve. The main problem is that he hasn't had a woman by his side for over twenty years, and he almost killed her half her life.
You have to understand that in her past life with that abusive man, and in this life with Zhou Shuyao, she has never experienced what it's like to be a real woman.
Tears welled in her eyes as she clutched the only vest Niu was wearing, sobbing uncontrollably. She coughed lightly twice, "Brother Niu, I've caught a cold. It's all your fault for standing in the rain..."
She hesitated, then blushed, "Could you please get me some medicine? I'm afraid I'll get a fever!"
The widower looked distressed and immediately pulled up his trousers, grabbed his raincoat, and headed outside, saying, "Wait for me, little sister, I'll go home and get it!"
Outside, only a light drizzle remained, and the sky was already beginning to lighten with the first hint of dawn.
Seeing that the widower had walked away, Song Yaoyao hurriedly struggled to get out of bed, clutching her swollen stomach.
She originally wanted to go out to find the oil drum, but when she looked down, she saw that her clothes had been torn to shreds, revealing large areas of her fair skin.
In her heart, Song Yaoyao cursed that this rough old man who had been single for decades was simply not human.
He then turned back, found a work uniform among the goods to be delivered the next day, put it on, and limped out of the house to retrieve the oil drum hidden in the bushes.
Glancing at the time on the wall, realizing the urgency, she picked up the axe and smashed the lock on the cooperative's office door.
The door lock clicked to the floor, and she hurriedly searched the office for cloth ration coupons.
Finally, she found a whole box of cloth coupons in a metal box on the bookshelf, and she was so excited that tears streamed down her face.
She poured gasoline on the pile of clothes in the warehouse, and to avoid arousing suspicion, she also poured gasoline in the corner.
Carrying the iron box out, Song Yaoyao didn't think much and decisively smashed the kerosene lamp at the door into the warehouse.
Seeing the flames leap high into the warehouse, Song Yaoyao laughed wildly at the raging fire, the flames illuminating her sinister and twisted face...
When the widower returned with the cold medicine, this was the horrifying scene he saw.
Flames leaped and heat waves hit us in the warehouse.
He collapsed to the ground with a thud, scattering cold medicine all over the floor, muttering, "It's all over, all our hard work is gone!"
Song Yaoyao glared at him and warned him, "From now on, we're in this together. You decide what to say and what not to say!"
After she finished speaking, ignoring the man's pale face on the ground, she supported her waist and walked towards the place where the light of dawn would slowly rise after the rainy night, laughing and crying all the way.
At five o'clock in the morning, most people in the family compound were still asleep.
The drying ground where the cooperative is located is some distance from the residential compound.
But some people still saw the towering flames inside the cooperative.
Song Yaoyao hid outside the corner of the family compound, listening to the villagers frantically knocking on Ling Huanwu's door.
Sure enough, when the door opened, only Zhou Jiuzhen was there; Ling Huanwu was nowhere to be seen.
Upon hearing that the cooperative had been burned down, Zhou Jiuzhen, wearing only a pair of plastic slippers, rushed towards the cooperative with a group of aunties.
Song Yaoyao hid in the shadows, a smile playing on her lips, and quietly curled her lips up again.
At the cooperative's entrance, the widower, seeing Zhou Jiuzhen running towards him, began to stammer an explanation, "I...I just went to the field to relieve myself, who knew it would suddenly...suddenly..."
Zhou Jiuzhen watched through the window as a pile of goods in the warehouse was about to be engulfed by fire. His eyes turned bloodshot with anxiety. He took off his clothes, soaked them in a puddle, and rushed into it.
That was Ling Huanwu's lifeline. He was only thinking about not letting Ling Huanwu be sad, so he rushed in to save her despite the raging flames.
Zhou Shuyao arrived at the scene shortly after and was terrified to see his older brother rushing into the fire without a care in the world.
He grabbed a villager nearby and anxiously asked, "Is Ling Huanwu in the cooperative? Is she?"
"I don't know!"
The villagers had no idea; they only knew to take buckets of water to put out the fire.
Zhou Shuyao stood frozen in place, his body swaying precariously.
After clenching his fists and thinking for three seconds, he still chose to do the same as Zhou Jiuzhen and rushed in without a second thought.
The moment he rushed in, Song Yaoyao happened to secretly turn around and leave.
Behind her were raging flames, and she watched the sunrise slowly rise over the eastern sea, as if she had been reborn.
If she can't be a military officer's wife, then Ling Huanwu shouldn't even think about it either.
She couldn't start the cooperative, and Ling Huanwu wouldn't allow it either.
No matter the cost, she will never let Ling Huanwu live a better life than she did in this lifetime!
Flames began to lick the roof that had just been drenched by the heavy rain. The aunties who worked at the cooperative rushed over after making breakfast in the morning.
As the fire in the cooperative's warehouse grew larger, the villagers carried buckets of water, creating chaos at the scene. However, the amount of water they carried was far from enough to extinguish the flames, and despair filled their eyes.
"Quickly go to the military base and call for help! There are people inside!"
Most of the villagers who came later subconsciously assumed that Ling Huanwu was also in the warehouse, unaware that Zhou Jiuzhen and Zhou Shuyao had rushed into the fire.
Then a familiar yet anxious voice came from behind, "Make way!"
Everyone turned around in surprise and saw Ling Huanwu rushing towards them from behind.
And right next to her was that incredibly handsome pilot who had swept the entire island yesterday evening!
Several women were shocked. "President Ling, weren't you in there? Then who's in there?"
