"Song Yaoyao, why are you wearing our cooperative's clothes?"
Second Aunt shouted loudly, her powerful voice booming through the crowd.
Originally, Song Yaoyao wanted to see Ling Huanwu make a fool of herself, but seeing that Zhou Jiuzhen, this love-struck fool, still believed in Ling Huanwu to this extent, she couldn't help but grit her teeth and almost broke them.
Unexpectedly, a loud shout from behind struck her directly, scaring her out of her wits.
Realizing she had been discovered, she didn't have time to think and ran away.
Auntie and the others chased after her out of the hospital, but Song Yaoyao was nowhere to be seen.
"That woman is so heartless. Her husband is in such a state, and she doesn't even go in to check on him."
"Wait a minute, if she comes to the city, who will take care of her triplets at home?"
"Don't her adoptive parents always sleep in her room? They can take care of the child, right?"
"How could they possibly take her? I heard they haven't spoken to Song Yaoyao in a long time, and now they don't talk to each other at all. Those two are out early and back late every day, I wonder what they're digging for in the fields behind the residential compound..."
The women exchanged glances, their earlier suspicions and accusations against Song Yaoyao instantly turning into concern for the triplets.
Outside the hospital.
Song Yaoyao was unaware that Zhou Shuyao was in the hospital after his accident.
Earlier, she saw Ling Huanwu enter the fire from outside, so she secretly winked at Niu Guanfu to let him out.
She threatened him with the mentally challenged son of the widower's family, saying that if she didn't want her son to be gossiped about as a bully who preyed on women, he had to listen to her and slander Ling Huanwu, otherwise she would send him to jail.
The widower was terrified and had no choice but to agree, lying against his will in front of everyone.
Song Yaoyao hurriedly took a boat back to the village, thinking about how to get rid of Niu Guanfu.
Otherwise, the widower would definitely expose her as the arsonist.
She rushed home, intending to find Zhou Shuyao and tell him that she had been bullied by Niu Guanfu, and to use him to kill Niu Guanfu.
By the time I got home, the sun had already set.
Song Yaoyao stared blankly at the door lock outside.
I'm a little puzzled as to where Zhou Shuyao went.
She pursed her lips, muttering as she inserted the key, "That damned guy must be overjoyed to be rumored to be having an affair with that Ling guy. I wonder where he's taking the kids to play."
The door lock clicked open, and the moment Song Yaoyao pushed the door open, the lock in her hand fell to the ground with a clatter.
Inside the house, her triplets lay motionless on the floor.
Da Bao lay quietly on the hard ground, holding an empty enamel cup in one hand and an empty bowl in the other.
And on his outstretched little arms, the younger two babies, Erbao and Xiaobao, lay motionless!
There was no sign of cooking in the house, and even the water tank was empty, without a single drop of water.
It's clear that the triplets were locked at home and didn't eat or drink all day!
"ah!"
Song Yaoyao screamed and rushed to the three children, shaking them frantically.
"Da Bao, Er Bao, Xiao Bao, what's wrong with you? Wake up! Waaaaah, Mom shouldn't have left you at home! Zhou Shuyao, you heartless bastard! Waaaaah..."
Song Yaoyao cried her heart out.
The three sleepy children rubbed their eyes and opened them, weakly calling out "Hungry." Song Yaoyao then stopped crying, and while crying and laughing, she carried the three children to the bed, tying her apron and comforting them, "Okay, Mom will go cook for you."
Although she was cold and heartless towards the three children, they were, after all, flesh and blood of her own flesh and blood. They were only one year old. How could she be so cruel to these three one-year-old babies?
She took the last sweet potato chips from the cupboard and prepared to cook at the stove outside.
Just as I stepped outside, I saw Mr. and Mrs. Ling carrying hoes, their faces covered in sweat as they returned from outside.
The moment Song Yaoyao saw them, her anger flared up. "You two old geezers, you live in my house every day and eat my food. Zhou Shuyao isn't home, and you don't even help take care of the kids?"
Ling's parents ignored her and went into the house. They poured out a bowl of bran from the bag, divided it into two portions, drew a bucket of water from the well outside, poured the water into the bran, and drank it directly.
Song Yaoyao was stunned and almost vomited.
She never imagined that the two capitalist couple, who used to live a life of luxury, would now be reduced to eating chaff.
"Even if you didn't eat at my house, what's wrong with you staying in my place and helping us look after our children? Any normal neighbor would see a child starving and not have the heart to leave them alone!"
Song Yaoyao muttered to herself, full of complaints about the two of them.
Unexpectedly, Ling's father slammed the bowl he was holding onto the table.
"Those three little brats aren't our grandchildren. Huanwu's children are our grandchildren. Why should we take care of your children!"
"Exactly! What good could a child born from a heartless scumbag like you and a womanizer be? You should worry more about whether your womanizer is alive or dead!"
Ling's mother followed closely behind, speaking in a sarcastic tone.
Song Yaoyao was confused. She held a sweet potato slice in one hand and poured water into the enamel basin with the other.
Enraged, she scooped up a ladle of water and splashed it on the two of them, yelling, "What do you two old geezers mean by cursing my husband to die? Believe me or not, I'll call that deadbeat Shuyao back to beat you up!"
Ling's parents weren't annoyed at being splashed with water; they just stared at her with schadenfreude in their eyes, and their words were like sharp blades piercing Song Yaoyao's heart.
"You mean Zhou Shuyao, that bastard? Don't you know? He was almost dead when he came out of the fire. He's probably in the morgue at a city hospital now, haha..."
Ling's parents burst into laughter, a laugh that was particularly eerie.
