Chapter 31 Dedicating Everything to the Country

No, no!

Seeing the guards lift Zhou Shuyao and head towards the cabin, Song Yaoyao cried out anxiously, "Don't throw my man away! I'll talk, I'll talk..."

Her face was covered in tears and snot.

Zhou Shuyao is destined to be the richest man in the future.

She didn't want to become a widow before her good days were over.

She didn't even dare to think about how she would live with triplets.

Zhou Shuyao stared intently at Song Yaoyao, struggling to shout, "Song Yaoyao, you're not allowed to reveal the whereabouts of our elder brother and the others! Even if I die, I'll still be a hero! We will never be traitors!"

Qin Jinshen was amused by his mortal enemy from his previous life.

Suddenly, I realized that this person was completely different from the mature person I had been in my previous life when we would always meet at banquets.

To be precise, it should be said that Zhou Shuyao became very pretentious after he became rich.

Qin Jinshen's smile made Song Yaoyao even more flustered.

She thought he was determined to kill her man.

She had already witnessed this man's ruthlessness in her previous life.

So she bent over and prostrated herself on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly to Qin Jinshen.

"After the typhoon, I promise I'll take you to them. Please let Shuyao go. I can't live without him, sob sob sob..."

Song Yaoyao burst into tears, and Zhou Shuyao behind her also had red eyes and a trembling voice, "You silly woman, how did you know where my brother and sister-in-law were?"

Qin Jinshen waved his hand, signaling his men to put Zhou Shuyao down, while inwardly mocking Zhou Shuyao for being incredibly stupid.

Ever since he was reborn, he knew that Song Yaoyao must have been reborn as well.

Otherwise, why would she marry Zhou Shuyao, who had nothing?

Only Zhou Shuyao would be so foolish as to be moved by this woman's deep affection.

Of course, he wouldn't let Zhou Shuyao die.

Zhou Shuyao must live, to see how he gradually steals away the woman he cherished most in his previous life...

*

Waves rolled and crashed several meters high along the coastline of Wantan Island.

Rows of fixed fishing boats bobbed up and down, colliding with each other and making a terrifying "bang bang bang" sound.

Ling Huanwu leaned against the bed, picked up her favorite storybook, "The Rough Men Are Too Mighty, the Young Widow Cries Trembling at Night," and flipped to her favorite part, but found that she couldn't get into it.

Finally, there was a loud knocking on the door.

Ling Huanwu dropped the book she was holding and ran over to unlatch the door.

As the cold wind blew in, the pages of the books on the bed fluttered and rustled.

Zhou Jiuzhen entered the house covered in dust and rain, quickly closed the door, bolted it shut, and even used a stick to brace it against the door.

“Some villagers from the neighboring fishing village were stranded at sea. My comrades and I just rescued them. Are you alright at home alone?”

As Zhou Jiuzhen took off his raincoat, he looked at the woman in front of him, who was staring blankly with red eyes, and asked hesitantly with some concern, "You weren't frightened by this strong wind, were you? Don't be afraid..."

Ling Huanwu felt a lump in her throat, and without caring about the dirt on his body, she threw herself at him, hugging his strong, thin waist, her heart pounding wildly.

"Yes, I'm scared, scared that you won't come back!"

Zhou Jiuzhen's hand, which was taking off his raincoat, froze. His hands involuntarily wrapped around her waist. He didn't even dare to pat her, and gently comforted her, "How could anything happen? I'm a very good swimmer."

The kerosene lamp in the room was flickering in the wind blowing in from all directions, but Ling Huanwu felt a sense of security as if her heart was at peace when she held him.

She sniffed, smiled, and let go of him to help him take off his raincoat. "You haven't eaten yet, have you? I made you some fish soup."

As she spoke, she pulled him to the table, lifted the blanket, and brought out the fish soup. "Eat quickly, then take a shower and go to sleep. I'll read a book for a while and then go to sleep."

Zhou Jiuzhen glanced at the fish soup, then at the woman in the white floral dress who ran away, and felt a warmth in his heart.

He sat down and ate the fish with gusto, but his eyes kept glancing at the woman reclining on the bed reading a book.

The warm yellow light from the kerosene lamp fell on the woman's exposed, straight, and shapely legs, making them look as if they were coated with honey, tempting one to take a bite.

The thought of his legs being seen by a group of grown men made him furious.

Suddenly, Zhou Jiuzhen realized that his mind was starting to wander again.

He quickly looked away, finished the fish soup in a few gulps, got up, took out a pair of bitter tea leaves and trousers from the snakeskin bag, and went to take a bath behind the curtain.

Inside the room, Ling Huanwu pulled up the small curtain she used for bathing, which was usually only big enough to cover her body.

Zhou Jiuzhen was tall and burly. Even though he was taking a bath behind the curtain, Ling Huanwu could still see the man's bulging chest muscles above the curtain and his muscular, powerful calves below the curtain.

The sight of the man's strong physique outlined through the thin curtain made Ling Huanwu's mouth go dry.

Ling Huanwu silently recited the Heart-Cleansing Mantra in her mind, then turned her gaze back to the book.

After all, this man is so disciplined, insisting on getting the marriage certificate before sleeping together. She absolutely cannot be so eager to expand her space as to try and win his favor again.

At worst, I can just go hungry and abstain from meat for another month.

Coincidentally, the page in the book she was reading contained a classic scene that she had revisited countless times.

The young widow lay on the bed, her skirt disheveled, her eyes filled with seductive allure as she looked at the five rough men standing beside her. Blushing, she said, "Whoever can help me, I'll marry! Whoever does will be my wife!"

The rough-looking guy number 1 was the first to block the main entrance with the bolt.

The rough-looking guy, number 2, rushed to block the back door.

Not to be outdone, the rough-looking man number 3 blocked the window that was banging on and off.

...

The scenes that used to thrill her every time she watched them are now unbearable for Ling Huanwu, who can't help but keep glancing towards the curtain.
