It wasn't until the first rays of dawn shone through the window that Zhou Jiuzhen got up from the bed in a panic.
He took a flatbread from under the tablecloth, then scooped out two large spoonfuls of brown sugar to make a bowl of brown sugar water. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he called Ling Huanwu to get up and eat something, feeling somewhat guilty.
"Honey, I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to, does it hurt?"
"Wife, don't ignore me, get up and eat something."
"Baby……"
Zhou Jiuzhen's face turned red, and his tongue was tied when he uttered those two words.
But in order to appease his wife, he was willing to go all out.
But his wife remained motionless, lying with her back to him.
Zhou Jiuzhen was extremely distressed.
It's hard to imagine that my wife's delicate skin gets such big welts from mosquito bites every day, let alone someone as big as him.
I've suffered terribly.
He put down the flatbread and reached out to hug her. In fact, he had been restraining himself these days because he was afraid of hurting her if he didn't handle her properly.
Ling Huanwu's eyes were unfocused, and her throat was so sore that she didn't even have the strength to respond to him.
Just then, there was a rapid knocking at the door.
Ling Huanwu cursed inwardly, wishing that someone had come to bother her sooner, or she would have almost lost half her life.
Zhou Jiuzhen carefully put her down, covered her up and wrapped her up tightly before opening the door with peace of mind.
As soon as the door opened, the heavy rain poured in from outside.
At the entrance stood Xiao Wang, a guard wearing a straw raincoat.
"Sir, I think I just saw your brother. Why has he been standing at your door?"
Zhou Jiuzhen looked out the door but didn't see anyone at all.
"Did something happen at the military base?"
Xiao Wang waved his hand, his gaze awkwardly shifting away from the clearly visible scratches on Zhou Jiuzhen's body. "It's nothing, just a telegram from above telling us to suspend training and rest for three days due to the typhoon. I came specifically to inform you."
Ling Huanwu breathed a sigh of relief inside; this man, whose explosive power was like a cheetah, was finally going to the army.
But when she heard the words "three days of rest," she felt a chill run down her spine.
So, she's going to have to spend three more days and nights with this energetic man!
The door slammed shut.
As the wall shook, Ling Huanwu's legs also trembled.
"Honey, that's great! I don't have to go out today. I can stay home and take good care of you."
Despite not having slept all night, Zhou Jiuzhen looked even more energetic than yesterday, appearing vigorous and full of vitality.
In just one night, he exuded an indescribable sense of being a married man from head to toe, inside and out.
Ling Huanwu hid under the covers and secretly watched him, somewhat lost in thought.
He gently scooped her up and made her eat.
Unfortunately, her hands were shaking badly.
There was nothing else Zhou Jiuzhen could do but feed her by hand. After feeding her, he held her and painstakingly took a bath before putting her back on the bed.
Ling Huanwu was exhausted, so Zhou Jiuzhen lay down next to her and fanned her with a palm-leaf fan.
She didn't know how long she had slept, but when she opened her eyes, she was startled to meet Zhou Jiuzhen's deep, dark eyes.
"You're still awake?"
Zhou Jiuzhen remained silent, staring intently at her with unwavering eyes, making her feel uneasy all over.
The meaning in his eyes couldn't be clearer.
It's like when she first tasted durian after becoming rich in her past life, she fell in love with the taste and felt uncomfortable if she didn't eat it every day, and as a result, she couldn't stop.
Besides, in this day and age, without television or other entertainment options, everyone is stuck at home during typhoons, so the only source of amusement is self-evident.
Ling Huanwu closed her eyes and had no choice but to compromise.
Because this man never left her side, she had no chance to go into the space to see how much it had expanded.
She had to exhaust him until he was too tired to continue sleeping.
The torrential rain lasted for three days.
During this time, Ling Huanwu was worried about the two plots of land at the entrance and behind the family compound, fearing that all the seeds in the fields would be washed away.
But every time she peeked out, the man behind her would pull her back in, not letting her be distracted by what was happening outside.
He stayed up all night, but during the day, while she was asleep, he went out to help the production team dig sweet potatoes, delivered dry food to her mother and took care of her daily life. When he came back, he also brought a few eggs for Ling Huanwu to replenish her energy.
Ling Huanwu lay in bed in a daze for three days.
It wasn't until the fourth day when the weather cleared up outside that Zhou Jiuzhen had to go to the army. Only then did Ling Huanwu seem to come back to her senses from the three days of living in a drunken stupor and struggle to get out of bed.
As soon as she got out of bed, her legs gave way and she fell to the ground. Zhou Jiuzhen quickly scooped her up, patted the dust off her, and said helplessly, "Take another day off today. The ship won't be back until tomorrow. I just went to the fields to check, and the two plots of land you're cultivating are fine."
He paused, squatted down, pursed his lips, frowned, and stared at her. "If you're not feeling well, I'll go to the clinic to get some ointment."
Ling Huanwu waved her hands repeatedly in refusal; she didn't want to be laughed at for her weak health any longer.
After Zhou Jiuzhen left, she quickly closed her eyes and entered her inner space.
As soon as you enter, a cool breeze envelops you, much like being in a cool, refreshing forest on a hot summer day.
Ling Huanwu glanced up and was immediately stunned by the scene before her, letting out a joyful "Ahhh!"
The space was so large, the size of the school playground, that her voice echoed.
She searched everywhere for a measuring tape and discovered that her dowry and ancestral property, which she had previously hoarded, were lying quietly in a small lump in a corner of the large space, telling her about their loneliness in such a large space.
There's no need to use a measuring tape here.
Ling Huanwu frolicked and rolled around in this space that could be described as a summer resort, already planning in her mind which items would be placed in which locations in the future.
