Ling Huanwu looked up at the man in front of her, whose eyes were burning with passion but whose face was cold and hard, and her eyes welled up with tears.
"You remember my birthday? You like me, your wife, that much?"
"No," Zhou Jiuzhen said stubbornly, his face flushed. "I used your household registration to fill out the forms today. I just happened to know it was your birthday, and everyone in the army was given a bag of milk candy, so I brought it back for you!"
Ling Huanwu hooked her arm around his neck and couldn't help but find it amusing to watch him lie and refuse to admit it.
It's really hard to get his true feelings out of him!
She rolled the candy in her mouth a couple of times, then pressed down her lips, feigning sadness as she teased him, "Oh, so you don't like me, I see!"
After saying that, she made a move to get off him.
"Huh? That's not what I meant. I meant... about the birthday..."
Zhou Jiuzhen restrained her to prevent her from getting off him, and hurriedly explained.
Ling Huanwu, however, continued eating her candy with an air of "I won't listen," and pretended to be heartbroken, "So you don't want to celebrate my birthday!"
Zhou Jiuzhen's face turned even redder with anxiety, his bronze skin as red as a cooked shrimp.
He pinched the woman's fair and smooth cheek, exhaling a tense breath, "You little fox, do you only feel satisfied when I say nice things?"
"Otherwise what? What woman doesn't like sweet talk?"
Ling Huanwu pointed to her lips, her smile radiant. "Just like how we women love candy, something sweet. Would you like to try some?"
Zhou Jiuzhen's burning gaze fell on her rosy lips, and his eyes instantly reddened.
