Chapter 83 Miracles from the Spirit Spring

"Commander, look! The villagers have all been poisoned by these toxic crops!"

Song Yaoyao, supporting her pregnant belly, ran ahead, pointing at the villagers lying haphazardly on the ground, shouting excitedly.

Zhou Jiuzhen and Political Commissar Hao were terrified when they saw the horrific scene before them.

The two rushed over to call for help.

Zhou Jiuzhen picked up the production team leader who was foaming at the mouth and pinched his philtrum while performing CPR.

Song Yaoyao spotted Ling Huanwu sitting peacefully in the crowd at a glance. Although her face was covered in dried mud, anyone who knew her could recognize her immediately.

She feigned shock and pointed at Ling Huanwu, then roared at her with the force of childbirth, "Look what you've done! You used those toxic fertilizers to improve the soil and grow this rice, and now the whole village has been poisoned to death by you! You owe them your lives!"

Ling Huanwu picked up Sanya and fed him another mouthful of spiritual spring water. Just then, Song Yaoyao rushed over angrily and knocked the gourd ladle out of her hand.

"You've killed them all, what's the point of feeding them water? Give it to me right now..."

Before she could say anything, Ling Huan suddenly stood up, grabbed her hair, and slammed her forehead against the stone wall.

"If you want to frame me, come at me! Why are you targeting the whole village? Are you even human?"

Ling Huanwu's eyes were bloodshot, and the force in her hands increased with each strike.

"Bang bang bang!"

When everyone realized what was happening, they saw that Ling Huanwu had already gone berserk.

If her mother-in-law hadn't rushed over from the family compound and pulled her away in time, Song Yaoyao would probably have been dragged by Ling Huanwu and slammed against the wall to her death on the spot.

Song Yaoyao's forehead was swollen to the size of a steamed bun. She slumped to the ground, clutching her stomach, unable to utter a word for a long time.

The guard, who was pretending to be unconscious, secretly opened his eyes a crack. He was terrified when he saw what was happening and quickly closed his eyes again to continue playing dead.

Even Zhou Jiuzhen was so shocked that his burly body trembled, and he grabbed the guard Wang beside him and asked in confusion, "Who is that shrew?"

Guard Wang glanced at the woman whose face was covered in dry mud, then carefully examined her clothes before patiently explaining to him, "Commander, that's your wife. You used to spoil her rotten before you lost your memory!"

Zhou Jiuzhen was struck dumb.

After all, he is only 18 years old in mind.

I can't imagine myself spoiling a shrew!

Commander Huo hurriedly ordered his men to find the military doctor and the clinic doctor, then asked Political Commissar Hao and Zhou Jiuzhen in a deep voice, "What's going on on your island? How come so many people are poisoned? Could it be that, as this woman said, these crops are poisonous?"

He then cast a cold glance at Ling Huanwu, his gaze carrying the unquestionable scrutiny of a superior, "Did you use those toxic fertilizers to grow that toxic rice?"

"This woman just explained to us on her way here that you are a capitalist who wants to take revenge on society, so you deliberately encouraged the villagers to plant these toxic crops and then framed your sister. Your parents can testify to this, is that right?"

"I don't……"

Ling Huanwu glanced at the villagers who were still lying haphazardly on the ground and showed no signs of waking up. Just as she was about to explain, she was interrupted by her parents who suddenly stood up.

It's you!

The two of them helped Song Yaoyao up, who had collapsed to the ground. When they looked up at their own daughter, their eyes were filled with disappointment and condemnation.

"You wrongly accused us of poisoning them before, but later Yao Yao and I were both monitored and never touched these crops. Now all these villagers are poisoned. If the crops you handled were poisonous to begin with, what else could it be?"

Ling's mother, wiping away tears, chimed in, "At first, we were concerned about your husband's status, but we never expected you to be so heartless as to beat your sister like this!"

Commander Huo listened to the couple's back-and-forth banter and turned to look at Guard Wang beside him.

Guard Wang nodded. "Because the three of them were released on bail by their lawyers, the police had been monitoring them and hadn't noticed them getting close to the crops."

Ling Huanwu's gaze swept over the parents who still unconditionally believed in their adopted daughter, and finally settled on Song Yaoyao's face.

Even though Song Yaoyao was covering her forehead and her face was pale, she gave her a provocative smile from an angle that others couldn't see, her lips silently uttering a few words.

"I won this time!"

Taking advantage of the fact that the three of them were being monitored and could clear themselves of suspicion, Song Yaoyao blatantly shifted the blame onto Ling Huanwu.

Ling Huanwu clenched her hands, which were hanging by her sides, and slowly loosened them, her lips trembling.

She looked around at the villagers lying on the ground, and a deep sense of guilt washed over her like a tidal wave.

She wanted the villagers on the island to have white rice to eat, but in the end, she lost her life because of her feud with Song Yaoyao. In the end, she was the one who harmed the whole village.

Two guards beside Commander Huo stepped forward and grabbed Ling Huanwu's arms, as if to take her away.

The mother-in-law, sweating profusely, tugged at Zhou Jiuzhen's sleeve, "Son, your wife is definitely innocent! We ate all those vegetables perfectly fine before, how could there be a problem with the fertilizer and soil? Please save your wife!"

Zhou Jiuzhen looked at his wife, whose face was covered in mud and whose features were obscured, not far away.

He opened his mouth but didn't know what to say. Suddenly, his trouser leg was tugged, startling him so much that he jumped up. A large, anchor-like foot unexpectedly stepped on the hand of the horse guard who was pretending to be poisoned on the ground.

The guard's closed eyelashes trembled violently, and a series of heart-wrenching cries of pain erupted from his heart. His face was almost distorted, but he still dared not pull his hand back, letting Zhou Jiuzhen's big foot stomp on it.

"Uncle Bear, are you here to eat white rice too?"

The little girl on the ground suddenly sat up, and her innocent voice, like a silver bell, reached the ears of everyone present.

Apart from Commander Huo, who had just arrived, and his subordinates, everyone else's pupils trembled, their eyes almost popping out of their sockets in shock.

The little girl in front of me is the youngest of Aunt Liu's triplets.

Zhou Jiuzhen had seen her in the classroom at the island school a few days ago.

At that time, Wang Guihua dragged him to the school, hoping to awaken his memories of his wife.

Wang Guihua pointed to the newly renovated school and said that his wife had funded the renovation.

He also pointed to the triplets, saying that the second oldest of the triplets originally couldn't walk, but now, with his wife's help, he can stand up and walk slowly.

The youngest, Sanya, has finally overcome her pica, even though she can't speak yet, thanks to her wife feeding her.

But now, that little girl who couldn't say a word or even a single word before can suddenly speak such a long string of words in just two days. Who wouldn't be shocked?

Zhou Jiuzhen was so shocked that he took another step back and stepped on the guard's face, instantly making the guard's mouth twist and turn. He could no longer pretend and cried out in pain, jumping up from the ground.

But as soon as he sat up, belatedly realizing that he had exposed himself and covered his mouth to howl, he was so shocked by what he saw that he almost lost his mind!
