Chapter 2 The Soul Returns
Three days later, in the woodshed.
Song Ci's long black hair was disheveled and she had not taken a drop of water for three days. She was relying on her willpower to keep going. She wanted to survive. Her brother was still trying to find a solution, and her father and mother were still waiting for her to come home.
But I heard footsteps outside the woodshed.
"Bang!"
"Oh, you're really looking for death, Miss Third."
The maid who opened the door looked Song Ci up and down with disdain on her face.
Song Ci's dead eyes lit up a little, "Sunset!"
Wanxia is my mother's personal maid. Could it be that my brother has rescued my mother?
"Third Miss." Wanxia curled the corners of her mouth.
When she smiled, Song Ci's heart suddenly sank.
"Are you from the eldest house?"
Wanxia touched the gold bracelet on her wrist and said, "It's too late for Third Miss to realize this now."
"The first wife sent you to the third wife's house to serve my mother and monitor us. When did it start..."
"From the beginning, I belonged to the first wife's family. If I have to blame someone, I can only blame you, the third wife, for being too stupid. I can't blame anyone else."
Song Ci pulled the corners of his dry, cracked mouth. Stupid? Of course it was stupid.
He is so stupid that he is hopeless. He is so stupid that he has sacrificed his entire family's lives and made things difficult for others.
Her father had been in business his entire life, accumulating countless wealth for the Song family. This wealth paved the way for the Song family, leading to their current situation. Perhaps it wasn't money that was used, but the flesh and blood of the three branches of the family, so that they could walk on the bones of their loved ones and go further.
She felt dizzy before her eyes. She hadn't eaten for three days and she was out of strength after speaking a few words.
Wanxia was happy to see her like this. People from the third house should be dogs to the first and second houses. "Miss Third, please wake up quickly. You will soon be able to fly up to the tree and become a phoenix!"
Song Ci hadn't eaten anything and her brain was a little unable to think.
The sound of the sunset glowed like a buzzing sound in her ears, but she couldn't hear a word clearly.
A man stumbled in at the door, reeking of alcohol, and the first thing he did was yell, "Xiaoci. How did you become like this? It's okay, your second brother will protect you. Your parents are gone, and your brother was an unlucky guy who died on the way. From now on, you follow me and I will take care of you."
As he spoke, he laughed softly and pounced on Song Ci.
Song Ci's mind exploded.
"...You said my brother is dead?"
Song Yong, his breath reeking of alcohol, leaned close to her ear and said, "Yes. Your brother was killed by robbers along the way, and not even his body was left. You're so pitiful, Xiaoci."
"But if you obey me and become mine, I will protect you. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be my concubine?"
As he spoke, he reached out and pulled Song Ci's collar, revealing her snow-white, flawless skin in a few seconds.
When Song Ci struggled, she only had time to feel for something hard. Without thinking, she raised her hand and used all her strength to hit her head.
Scarlet liquid gushed out.
The still warm blood splashed onto Song Yong's face, frightening him instantly.
Song Ci is dead.
He was forced to death.
The world after death is different from what we imagined. It is not all white, nor is it pitch black where you can’t see your hand in front of you.
Song Ci felt like she was floating in the air like a gust of wind. She looked around anxiously for her family and unknowingly came to the prison.
The air in the prison was damp, and the dark ground was filled with the smell of decay and festering wounds. The chains on the prisoners in the cell were clanging. She looked around for a long time and finally found Song's father who was tied to the rack.
The cloth on his chest was shattered by the whip, and his chest was a bloody mess. It was unknown how long he had been hanging there, and maggots had already taken root in his flesh and blood.
Song Ci almost vomited, and hurried forward to untie his shackles, but his hands couldn't reach him.
Song Ci shed two tears of blood.
It floated to the outside of Prince Qi's mansion and heard shrill wails coming from the backyard.
The people on duty got goosebumps when they heard it, and everyone took a detour, but Song Ci seemed to be fixed there.
I listened for five whole days.
The sound finally died away, and a body wrapped in a dirty rag was secretly carried away from the back door.
Silently.
Now that Song's father's death made her angry, her mother's death was enough to make her numb.
As he approached, his brother's body appeared in front of him, his flesh chopped into pieces and mixed in a pool of blood.
The assailant wiped the blood from the blade with a cloth and said coldly, "I've never seen such brutal killings of close family members in my thirty years."
Song Ci was about to collapse. He covered his head, closed his eyes, and struggled weakly.
A ticking sound appeared in my mind.
"Xiaoci, you're finally awake. You've been in a coma for three days. Are you feeling better?"
The gentle voice is like a ray of redemption.
Song Ci's eyelashes trembled, and she slowly opened her eyes, looking at the person in front of her in disbelief, "Mom..."
Qiao Xianglan looked at her daughter's dazed look and was worried, "Is this child sick and stupid? Why is she looking at me like that..."
After saying that, Song Ci suddenly threw himself into her arms, breathing heavily.
It’s mother, it’s really mother, it’s warm, everything is real.
"Mom, are you really here? Is it really you?"
Qiao Xianglan smiled and stroked her daughter's tender cheek, "Silly child, isn't mother always here?"
"Mom, please don't leave me. Even if this is just a dream, please don't leave."
Although her daughter usually acts like a spoiled brat, she has never covered her head like she did today. Qiao Xianglan looked worried and gently stroked her head.
Wanxia behind her suddenly spoke up, "Madam, I see that Miss Third seems to be feeling much better. The old lady said she hasn't been feeling well lately and wants you to go to the front to serve...would you like to go now?"
Hearing Wanxia's voice and hearing her asking her to call her mother away, a cold light flashed in Song Ci's eyes in her arms.
God bless her and let her be reborn.
In this life, no one should ever think of hurting her family!
Song Ci poked her head out from her mother's arms and said innocently, "Sister Wanxia, why did the old lady tell you everything instead of telling my mother in person? When did you become so close to her? We didn't even know..."
Wanxia was a little panicked, but quickly calmed down. "That's not right, Miss Third. I just occasionally went to the front yard and chatted with the sisters around the old lady... That's not to say they were close."
"Then please ask Sister Wanxia to tell the old lady that I am still not feeling well and cannot leave my mother. Please let the first and second wives take care of me."
"How can this be possible! The Third Madam has always served the old lady. The old lady is used to being served by the Third Madam, and others may not be as good as her."
Song Ci's eyes turned cold, "Why not? My mother has been serving me for so many years. If my mother can do it, why can't they? If you don't know how to do it, just learn. There is always a first time for everything."
