Chapter 294: In the System Space

With a simple thought, Henry suddenly felt his surroundings blurring. And in the next moment, he felt that his environment had suddenly shifted. It was as if he had suddenly teleported from one place to another.

The world where everything was illuminated by a red light appeared in his vision after a moment when he returned his focus. He had already gotten used to the appearance of this place.

Although it was quite dull, Henry had already adapted to it. After all, for the past 2 months and a half, he had already been coming into the system, spending an hour each day. And in case he missed coming into the system space, he would be able to enter the following day for 2 hours.

But this time, although everything looked the same, Henry felt that there were some changes that had occurred. And after looking carefully around, he realized that the intensity of the red light that was illuminating this system space had actually dimmed down a little.

In fact, it was not as if the light in the surrounding areas had become dim. But instead, it was just that the intensity of the red light had reduced, and it seemed that the natural and normal light was trying to come into this system space.

Henry had never been in this place before the apocalypse was about to arrive. So, he was not sure if the red color was actually the initial color of the system space, or maybe something had happened and that was the reason why it was red in color.

Nevertheless, since he only possessed 2 hours in this place, Henry decided to use that time efficiently. So, he decided that he was going to use this time to make sure that he was familiar with the intermediate level of skills of the sword wielding.

It was true that currently, he had already processed the information in his mind. But when it came to practicals, he needed to practice first. So, the system space was the most ideal place for him to train.

He could fight monsters inside here, trying out his power level without any restrictions. Additionally, his energy reserves could not be consumed, enabling him to tirelessly practice his skills.

At first, Henry just went ahead and tried to use the methods that he had been instructed in the information that he had received to wield the sword.

After he had gotten familiar with it, he finally began fighting against monsters inside this place. Of course, all of them had already reached the gold rank. But, at this point, Henry was already fighting monsters that had already reached the fifth level of the gold rank.

It might have been difficult for him to be able to deal with them, but still, that was during the past half a month. But right now, several changes had already occurred, with the mastery of the method that he could utilize the sword, together with the increase in the intensity of the temperatures of his fire, currently, the power that Henry possessed was way above the one that he possessed half a month ago.

Initially, he was only capable of defending when he was facing off against a level 5 gold rank apocalyptic creature. But this time, he was actually capable of dominating the creature. Although it was not completely one-sided, but he was the one who possessed the greatest advantage between the two of them.

Of course, it might be true that Hanson was at the 4th level of the gold rank, but when compared to the apocalyptic creatures that could be found within the system space, the power level that Hanson possessed previously could only be compared to that of a level two gold rank apocalyptic creature.

It seemed that whatever method that they had used to increase the strength had only done so quantitatively, and not qualitatively. It might be true that Hanson had managed to reach level 4 of the gold rank, but the combat power that he possessed did not increase by a large margin.

For the entire one hour with some minutes, Henry went ahead and fought against the monsters. And as he fought against them, he became more and more familiar. Additionally, he did not just fight against the monsters, but instead, this time, he decided to focus on the zombies.

He was going to fight against zombies in this city. He had already realized that there were no other races that were available in the surrounding areas. The only other race other than the human race that would be found in plenty in Lockwood city was the zombie race.

At this point, since he had full control over this place on the simulation of the opponent that he was facing, Henry decided that the zombies in this place possessed the same properties as the ones that were in the real world.

Other than that, in case he was scratched, or bitten, he would be able to experience the pain. Additionally, his strength would be decreased by a certain margin, and the speed at which he was going to become weaker was going to depend on the speed at which the zombie poison could affect him.

With that, he was taking more precautions on how to handle the zombies. He was finding the weaknesses that the zombies possessed, and exploiting them to the maximum.

...

While Henry was in his room, Nancy had finally managed to have her crow to wake up. Although it had finally gotten up, the injuries that it had suffered from the zombie had not yet healed.

According to what she could see, and what the crow had informed her through the link that they shared, it seemed that it was going to take almost a month for it to be able to completely heal. It seemed that the attack from the zombie was not something simple.

And to say the truth, Nancy was feeling sad at the fact that her companion beast had been injured like this. Of course, she was blaming everything on Adam. He was the one who was strong enough, but why did he allow her to continue fighting, when he could have simply taken care of the zombie quickly?

So, the moment that she got out of the battlefield, she left the others to continue cleaning up the battlefield, while collecting all the drops and the mutation crystals, as she called over Vincent and Jason.

All this while, Jason had not said anything. It was not because he did not have anything to say, but instead, he was just shocked, and he was not sure of how he was going to react.

Of course because of this, Vincent felt happy inside. It was not just because he thought that he had made the right decision by supporting Henry and his group, but instead, finally, this arrogant person had at the long run met a person that was capable of silencing him completely.

Of course he himself possessed a lot of questions. But there was one thing that he had realized. It seemed that this person called Adam was already far stronger than the leader of this territory.

But then again, Adam was not the leader of the group, but it was Henry. It seemed that all the attacks that he had launched before were not according to his full power. It seemed that he was holding back, and it was not by a small margin.

After all, Nancy was a level 9 silver rank mutant warrior. But even then, she was not capable of dealing with the zombie when she attacked together with her companion beast that was also at level 9 of the silver rank.

Adam on the other hand had dealt with the zombie in simple three moves. One of them cut off the hand of the zombie, then, he cut the zombie into two by the waist, before he finally finished off the zombie with a blow to the head.

And all of this was done so effortlessly. It was clear that the gap that existed between Adam and the zombie was so big that the zombie could not resist at all.

Other than that, Vincent felt that it seemed that Olivia had lied about her current power level. From the observations that he had made before, he had realized that it seemed that Olivia held a higher position as compared to Adam.

Since this was the apocalypse and the rankings of a person mainly depended on the power that they possessed, that implied that Olivia was definitely stronger than Adam. And if that was the case, was she also in the gold rank?

Of course Vincent believed that they were both in the gold rank considering that there was no possibility of a person who had not yet reached the gold rank being able to compete with gold rank apocalyptic creatures, unless that person was special, just like Nancy.

Additionally, the zombie that had attacked this time was not just any zombie, but instead, it was a mutant zombie. Mutant zombies were always stronger than normal zombies at the same level.

"You, you can go ahead and instruct the cleaning up of the battlefield. As for you Vincent, I need to ask something from you." Nancy instructed as she looked at Jason, before she turned and looked at Vincent.

Jason felt disgruntled. He was now being given the role of being in the logistics? Nevertheless, he did not say anything and did as instructed. He understood Nancy quite well. She was a person who only gave a command once. If a person tried to disobey, then, they would definitely be faced with punishment.

"I want to know all the information that you possess about this group of youths. This is the first time that I am seeing them here, and I have already received information about them, but it is not detailed enough." Nancy stated as she looked at Vincent, directly in his eyes. At this moment, her voice was filled with authority, together with a tinge of coldness.
