Chapter 34 Earthquakes
Shang Wan ran out upon hearing the noise, and saw the little turtle, who was originally playing happily with the two children on the cushion, retracted its head into its shell. A faint red light appeared on the shell, as if it was about to explode.
Shang Wan didn't touch the little turtle rashly and asked Xiao Huan, "Did you feed it the wrong food?"
"I didn't feed it anything." Xiaohuan shook her head and frowned at the little turtle. "It suddenly became like this."
"Mom!" Yuanyuan crawled over and grabbed Shang Wan's clothes, pulling them twice hurriedly. "Knife! Dao!"
The three people in the yard were confused.
Shang Wan knew that Yuanyuan had awakened the ability to taming animals and could communicate with them, so he must be trying to tell her something.
She picked up the little guy and patted his back gently. "Don't be anxious. Tell me slowly. What do you want to tell your mother?"
"Daddy!" The little fellow pointed at the door of the west wing. His forehead was sweating with anxiety, and his face turned red before he uttered a word, "Rough!"
"You want your dad to come out?"
Yuanyuan nodded her little head, "Thick! Thick!"
Shang Wan stuffed Yuanyuan into Xiaohuan's arms, ran into the west wing, carried Lu Chengjing out, and placed him on the stone slab where Xiaohui was drying his fur.
Xiao Hui didn't know where he ran off to.
Shang Wancai had just put the man down when the ground suddenly began to shake and thunder roared in the clear sky.
The earth shook and the rocks cracked.
The dilapidated thatched house collapsed in an instant, and only a ruined building remained amidst the flying dust.
Shang Wan rescued everyone as quickly as possible and moved them to a more open place.
The originally quiet village was filled with noise and crying, and many villagers ran out with their families.
After two breaths, the ground stopped shaking.
Li Xiaoshan was worried about his family, so Shang Wan grabbed him and stopped him from running around, staring at the little turtle intently.
The red light on the turtle shell has not faded.
Shang Wan pursed his lips, the earthquake was not over yet.
Once, twice, three times, the aftershocks became lighter and lighter, and the red light on the turtle shell completely disappeared.
As soon as Shang Wan let go, Li Xiaoshan immediately ran home, gritting his teeth, tears falling in the wind.
There were chaotic cries and shouts coming from the village. Many people were trapped in the houses, and Shang Wan couldn't ignore it.
She took a deep breath, put Yuanyuan into Lu Chengjing's arms, and earnestly instructed the three of them, "Stay here and don't move. I'm going to rescue people. If anything happens, just shout for me. I can hear you."
Lu Chengjing looked at her for a moment, his dark eyes calm, and he said slowly: "Be careful about everything."
Shang Wan reached out and brushed his loose hair behind his head, and with a flash of his body, he was already a hundred steps away.
Following the cries for help, Shang Wan checked every house. If there was someone to help, she would leave. If there was no one to help or not enough people, she would step forward to lend a hand.
Often, before the villagers could even finish their words of thanks, Shang Wan had already reached the next household.
She is strong and agile, and can do the work of ten people.
"Dad! Dad, don't die!" Li Xiaoshan squatted beside his father Li, crying with tears and snot, and Li Xiaomei also sobbed.
Li Dashan knelt down to check the injuries of Old Man Li. Seeing the blood all over Old Man Li, he couldn't help but wipe away his tears secretly.
His father had a hard life.
He fled famine to Yushu Village and grew up eating at hundreds of homes. He finally learned a skill, saved money to get married, and had three children. The family lived in harmony and life finally got better.
But six years ago, I took a job in the city, and my hard-earned happy life was broken.
When Old Man Li was carried back, one of his legs was broken, and Aunt Zhao, who had run to the city to look for him, was nowhere to be found.
Old Man Li seemed to have lost his soul. He refused to eat or drink all day and looked like a monster.
Everyone in the village said that Aunt Zhao ran away with a rich man in the city and no longer wanted Old Man Li and the three children in the family.
Li Dashan got so angry that he started a fight and beat the man until he was bleeding. The family came to the Li family door and asked Li's father to give an explanation.
After returning home, Old Man Li, who had never said a word, finally reacted. After apologizing to others, he closed the door and told his three children the truth.
In order to seek justice for her husband, Aunt Zhao offended a nobleman and was beaten to death with sticks. Her body was chopped into pieces and fed to dogs.
The three children burst into tears. Poor Old Man Li didn't even know who the noble man was, and Li Dashan couldn't find anyone to avenge his mother.
"Dad, hold on, I'll get Doctor Yuan over here."
Seeing that Old Man Li was breathing out more than breathing in and even had his eyes closed, Li Dashan stood up with red eyes, told his younger brothers and sisters to look after their father, then turned around and ran away.
When Shang Wan came over, Li Xiaoshan and Li Xiaomei had already burst into tears, and Li Xiaomei was sobbing and almost fainting.
Li Xiaoshan cried out, "Dad, open your eyes and look at us! I won't be naughty anymore. I'll learn the craft from my big brother and do whatever you ask me to do. You haven't even seen me get married yet, so please don't die!"
"Hey, make way, make way." Shang Wan pushed Li Xiaoshan away, "If you delay any longer, your father will really die."
Li Xiaoshan sniffed and looked at Shang Wan stupidly, "Sister, why are you here?"
"Save him." Shang Wan took out a small porcelain bottle, pinched open Old Man Li's mouth, and fed him three drops of spiritual spring water.
There were five or six broken bones in Old Man Li's body. Shang Wan helped to reconnect them with his nimble hands and feet, and fixed them with wooden boards found by Li Xiaoshan and Li Xiaomei. He also asked the two to take off their belts and tear open the wooden boards.
When Li Dashan ran back carrying Yuan Musheng, Shang Wan had already left.
Yuan Musheng had a bandage wrapped around his forehead, blood seeping out. He squatted down to check on Old Man Li's injuries and found that he was breathing steadily and his injuries had been properly treated.
He looked at Li Xiaoshan and Li Xiaomei suspiciously, "Did you treat this injury?"
The two children shook their heads together, and Li Xiaoshan said, "It's my sister."
Yuan Musheng:?
Little Sister Li grabbed Old Man Li's big hand and added softly, "It was Madam Shang. She gave Dad the medicine and set his bones."
Yuan Musheng was surprised. His brother and sister-in-law had this ability?
"My sister-in-law handled it very well. Uncle Li's condition has stabilized. Please be careful when moving him. It's best to find someone else to carry him."
The three of them agreed immediately.
There are only a few houses in the village that have completely collapsed. After all, not all houses are as dilapidated as Shang Wan and his family's shabby hut.
In the absence of the village chief, several elderly people in the village became the backbone. They asked the villagers to gather with their families in an open and unobstructed place, and if anyone needed help, everyone would volunteer to lend a hand.
It took an hour to rescue everyone.
This was all thanks to the villagers living close by and Shang Wan's quick movements. If they were all as far away as the shabby hut, an hour wouldn't be enough.
After surviving the disaster, everyone had a look of panic on their faces. Why did the earthquake happen out of nowhere?
The elders were experienced and managed to keep the situation steady. They told everyone not to panic or get confused, to just stay put and not to think about getting things from the house.
Shang Wan landed next to Lu Chengjing. Not only were her clothes dirty, but her fair face was also covered in dust.
Lu Chengjing took out a handkerchief and handed it to her. Shang Wan leaned forward and said, "I'm tired. Please help me wipe it."
