Chapter 58 I Didn’t Want to Hide It from You
During dinner, looking at Lu Chengjing's face, Shi Tou and Xiao Huan were trying so hard to hold back their laughter that their shoulders were shaking.
It’s not that they have a low sense of humor, but the place where Yuanyuan stamped the stamp was really tricky.
Such a beautiful woman, but under the blessing of the black seal, not only did her forehead turn black, but her eyes also looked like they were hit, two black spots. Because it was stamped twice in a row, the color was particularly dark, which was really funny.
Shang Wan had no choice but to carry Lu Chengjing to the stone beside the well so that the two of them could have a good meal, and wet a handkerchief to wipe him.
"Close your eyes."
Lu Chengjing closed his eyes obediently, but raised his left hand to hold Shang Wan's sleeve and explained in a low voice, "I didn't mean to hide it from you."
"It's a little hard to wipe off, just bear with it." Shang Wan used a little strength, and the skin under the handkerchief was rubbed red before he finally wiped off the black mark on his forehead.
Lu Chengjing didn't get a response from Shang Wan, his eyelashes trembled slightly, and he wanted to open his eyes, "I really didn't..."
"Don't move, or water will get into your eyes." Shang Wan lifted the chin of the person in front of him and moved closer to wipe his eyes. "Don't let Yuanyuan play like this in the future. It's hard to wipe."
Warm breath sprayed on his face, and a light fragrance filled the tip of his nose. Lu Chengjing pursed his pale lips uncomfortably, his ears were stained with a light red, and the fingers that were grabbing Shang Wan's clothes unconsciously increased their strength.
The skin around the eyes was thin, and Shang Wan thought he had hurt her, so he coaxed her, "Bear with it, it will be fine soon."
After Shang Wan's coaxing, Lu Chengjing felt more and more uncomfortable, but he did not loosen his grip on Shang Wan's sleeve.
He frowned slightly and explained in a low voice: "I just have a suspicion, I'm not sure it's that person, I want to wait until I'm sure before telling you, you... don't be upset."
"I'm not that stingy." Shang Wan scratched Lu Chengjing's chin like he was teasing a cat. "I told you, you can tell me whether you want to or not. Everyone can have secrets."
Lu Chengjing pursed his lips, "I..."
"It's clean." Shang Wan let go of him and threw the handkerchief into the small wooden barrel. "Let's go back and eat. We have to continue setting up the shed later."
Shang Wan carried Lu Chengjing back to his seat. Yuanyuan tilted her little head and looked at her parents curiously. Was her mother smiling?
Shang Wan pinched her cheeks and continued to feed the little one.
Shitou and Xiaohuan also picked up their chopsticks and talked about building a shed later.
Lu Chengjing ate his meal absentmindedly, glancing at Shang Wan from time to time.
Shang Wan:?
Why is her fox acting weird again?
"Eat well." Shang Wan picked up a piece of fish belly meat with chopsticks and put it into Lu Chengjing's bowl. Thinking that Lu Chengjing's left hand was not as convenient as his right hand in using chopsticks, he picked out the bones in advance.
Looking at the fish in the bowl, Lu Chengjing opened his mouth to say thank you, but then he remembered Shang Wan once said "Don't thank me with your mouth", and swallowed the word "thank you" back.
"Meat!" Yuanyuan anxiously stretched out her little hand and tugged at her mother's sleeve. She wanted everything her daddy had, too.
Shang Wan raised his eyebrows secretly, picked up a small piece of fish, removed the bones, and fed it into the little guy's mouth.
"Ah!" Yuanyuan stuck out her tongue because of the spiciness. Her little face turned as red as an apple. Her big watery eyes stared at her mother accusingly.
Shang Wan poked her red cheeks and said as he fed her water, "My dear, remember, don't eat anything casually, even if it's given to you by your closest people. You have to learn to judge for yourself."
Yuanyuan is a psychic with exceptionally sharp five senses, which allows her to avoid danger. Since the little one is lazy and doesn't need to use it, she, as a mother, will teach him well and let him learn his lesson when he suffers.
"Sister, Yuanyuan is only one year old." Xiaohuan couldn't help but remind her, what can a one-year-old baby understand?
Shang Wan said: "If you teach them from a young age, they won't suffer when they grow up."
Xiaohuan: “…”
One year old is too young, isn't it?
Shang Wan pinched her chubby cheeks and asked, "Did you remember that?"
The spicy taste on her tongue had just dissipated. Yuanyuan glanced at the fish on the table and nodded with lingering fear, "Remember!"
"So good." Shang Wan continued to feed the little guy vegetable porridge.
After dinner, Shang Wan and Shitou continued to build the wooden shed, while Lu Chengjing sat by the fire holding Yuanyuan and looked at the account books.
At first, the little guy's eyes were wide open, and he was watching more seriously than Lu Chengjing, but he soon fell asleep out of boredom, and snore in Lu Chengjing's arms.
Xiaohuan brought the medicine over, and while Lu Chengjing was drinking it, she carried Yuanyuan to the small bed next to her which was made of bedding and wooden boards. She patted Yuanyuan gently twice and she fell asleep again.
The moon is bright and the stars are dim, and the night breeze is blowing gently.
Lu Chengjing closed the book, raised his hand to gather the cloak on his shoulders, yawned with his hand covering his mouth, and a hint of fatigue appeared in the corners of his eyes and eyebrows.
He rubbed his eyebrows lightly and turned to look at the three people who were still busy.
The wooden shed was almost complete, though due to time constraints, it was a simplified version. Shang Wan was doing the final reinforcement, while Shitou and Xiaohuan helped support it.
Shang Wan bent down and crawled into the wooden shed. He reached out and shook it a few times. When he felt it was quite solid, he crawled out and said with a smile, "It's quite stable. I'll have no problem sleeping at night."
"That's great." Shi Tou was so tired that he sat down on the ground. His hands were covered with small wounds and a few blood blisters.
Shang Wan saw it and warned: "When you apply the medicine to your brother-in-law later, remember to apply it to yourself as well, or you will not be able to lift your hand tomorrow."
The stone responded.
"Sister, there's hot water on the stove." Xiaohuan pointed to the small space in the corner of the kitchen that she had enclosed with wooden boards and curtains. "I've tried it, and I can't see it if I pull up the curtains."
The conditions for taking a bath are indeed not as good as before in today's situation, but my sister and Shitou have a lot of sawdust on their bodies, which stick to their skin and make it itchy. We definitely can't sleep well like this, so it would be more comfortable to take a shower with hot water.
"No need, go wash the stones." Shang Wan brushed off the sawdust on his clothes. "I have to go into the mountains. Don't wait for me."
After saying this, without waiting for the two to react, he disappeared in a flash.
"Plop--" A small splash of water appeared in the pool. Shang Wan adjusted to the cold temperature of the water for a while. After swimming twice in the water, he began to scrub the sawdust off his body.
The original owner's skin was delicate, and the sawdust sticking to her body was not only uncomfortable but also caused a large area to turn red. Shang Wan endured it for a whole day, and now he finally felt relieved after soaking in the pool of water.
After washing his hair and wringing out the water, Shang Wan jumped out of the pool, took out clean clothes from the space, put them on, and ran towards the wolf's den.
Tiedan was lying among several wolf cubs, feeling warm all around and sleeping soundly.
Shang Wan wrapped the man in his cloak and ran down the mountain with him in his arms.
The lights were still on at the Lins' house, and sounds of quarreling could be heard. Shang Wan listened carefully, but found nothing useful.
He folded his cloak and placed Tiedan on the ground in front of the gate. Shang Wan pinched the child's nose and flew away when the child was out of breath and about to open his eyes.
Tiedan sneezed, rubbed his eyes, and sat up, subconsciously looking for someone, "Dad? Mom?"
No one responded. It was pitch black all around, and the wolf cub was not with the child. The child was frightened and burst into tears, which alarmed the neighbors, and everyone opened the door to check.
"It seems that Tiedan is back."
"Oh, the brat is finally back."
"As long as the child is okay."
"Tiedan!" Zhou opened the door and rushed out, hugging her son and crying with joy, "Son, where have you been? I was scared to death!"
