Chapter 7 Who are you planning to rob?

Chapter 7 Who are you planning to rob?

Shang Wan stopped sharpening his axe and looked up at the stone. "Did you see anyone?"

"The people from the yamen said that the young master is a serious criminal and they won't let us in to visit him." Shitou drank three bowls of water in a row before he felt the burning in his throat. He sat on the stool opposite Shang Wan, looking at her again and again as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.

"Just say it if you have something to say." Shang Wan lowered his head and continued sharpening the axe.

Shitou pursed his lips, rubbed his fingers back and forth for a long time, and said hesitantly: "Young Madam, I was wrong before. Please be magnanimous and don't hold it against me."

He fished out fourteen copper coins from his pocket and said, "I carried rice for a day at the rice shop, and the shopkeeper paid me fifteen coins. I was too hungry to move, so I spent one coin to buy some steamed buns. The rest of the money is here."

"You keep it. I'll go to the rice shop tomorrow to get some rice. I'll make sure you, the young lady, and Xiaohuan don't go hungry while I'm here."

Shitou passed the copper coin forward.

Shang Wan didn't answer, but looked up at him, "Do you have something to ask me?"

"Yes." Shitou coughed uncomfortably twice. "Young Madam, you are a very capable person. For the sake of our past friendship, please find a way to save the young master. I will obey you from now on. If you tell me to go east, I will never go west."

Shang Wan raised an eyebrow, "I asked you to kill people and set fire to things?"

"Murder and arson?" Shitou was so shocked that his voice rose a degree.

Wow, the young lady is really cruel. Who does she want him to kill or burn?

Could it be that despicable villain who wrote sour poems to the young lady and instigated her to have an affair?

Thinking of his young master who was still suffering in prison, Shitou gritted his teeth, clenched his fists and said, "As long as I can rescue the young master, even if it means murder or arson, I...I will do it!"

Wow, quite loyal.

Shang Wan took the copper coin and handed him the half-sharpened axe, "Keep sharpening."

"Young Madam, do you agree?" Shi Tou held the axe in a daze.

Shang Wan didn't comment and picked up Yuanyuan and went into the kitchen.

Shi Tou wanted to chase in and ask, but when he thought of Shang Wan's order, he hesitated for a moment, then suppressed his anger and sat down beside the grindstone, concentrating on sharpening the axe.

Shang Wan saw it through the window and felt somewhat satisfied.

As expected, he is obedient.

Dinner was served, with steamed fish, braised chicken with green onions, braised rabbit meat, stir-fried bok choy, egg drop soup, and fragrant rice. It was a very sumptuous meal.

The fragrance wafted into Shi Tou's nose, and his empty stomach suddenly rumbled.

Apart from breakfast, he only ate one steamed bun today and was already starving.

He couldn't help swallowing and looked up at Xiaohuan, "Where did these things come from?"

"The young lady caught them all in the mountains." Xiaohuan had already gotten over her surprise and her tone was very calm.

Shi Tou suddenly felt pain on his face.

He worked hard all day carrying rice, but it was not worth the young lady's trip into the mountains.

Xiaohuan prepared chicken and egg porridge specifically for Yuanyuan.

Chop the chicken into minced meat with a kitchen knife and cook it until it is soft. The egg is tender. Add a little salt when taking it out of the pot, drizzle some freshly boiled chicken oil, and sprinkle some finely chopped green onions. It will have a good color, aroma and taste.

But little Yuanyuan was particularly uncooperative today. Even when the spoon was brought to his mouth, he kept his little mouth closed and refused to open it.

Xiaohuan coaxed softly, and Yuanyuan turned her head away, her big black eyes staring at Shang Wan eagerly, and two words popped out of her little mouth, "Mom, dinner."

Obviously she wanted Shang Wan to feed her.

"Let me do it." Shang Wan was happy to pamper her own child. She took the small porcelain bowl from Xiaohuan's hand, scooped up half a spoonful of porridge and handed it to Yuanyuan. Yuanyuan immediately smiled with her eyes curved, opened her mouth and ate it obediently.

"Smells good!" Another word popped out of her mouth, and her chubby little hands clapped happily.

Xiaohuan looked at her in surprise, and couldn't help feeling happy.

When she was at the Lu family, the young lady could only call out "Dad" and "Mom." No matter how much she was taught, she couldn't say anything else. Even the young master was at a loss as to what to do with her. It had only been a short time since she left the Lu family, and she could already say several more words. She was learning really fast.

If Shang Wan knew what Xiaohuan was thinking, he would definitely be speechless.

In the apocalypse, one-year-old babies can already talk and run, unlike Yuanyuan who is still learning to walk and stumbles over her words.

She was actually quite worried about Yuanyuan's IQ, and she even secretly fed her two drops of spiritual spring water today, hoping that she could make up for it the day after tomorrow.

If there really was no change at all, Shang Wan would suspect that the spiritual spring water had lost its effectiveness.

While Xiaohuan went to the kitchen to get some soup, Shang Wan told Shitou about how Chen San and the other two had broken in and bullied Xiaohuan. Shitou was so angry that he clenched his fists and was about to go find the three to settle the score.

Shang Wan stopped him and said, "I've already beaten everyone I should have beaten. If you go and beat someone up now, it will only ruin my business. I'm telling you this so that you won't be impulsive if you hear it from others, and don't mention it in front of Xiao Huan."

"I know." Shitou responded angrily, secretly annoyed at himself for being too careless. He shouldn't have left two women and a child at home when he first arrived and knew nothing.

Fortunately, the young lady was very skilled and rushed back in time, otherwise if Chen San had succeeded, Xiaohuan's life would have been ruined, and even if he had beaten those three scumbags to death, it would not have made up for it in the slightest.

Shang Wan looked at his head which was about to be lowered to the rice bowl, and thought that this incident could be regarded as a lesson, and they had to think more carefully in the future.

She knocked on the table and waited for Shitou to look up at her before she said, "Don't go into the city tomorrow. Just walk around the village, get to know the villagers, and learn about the situation in the village. For example, which families have good relationships with which families, and which families are at odds with which families. Anything related to the village, especially the Lin family, write it down."

"Okay." Shitou nodded in agreement.

Shang Wan continued, "By the way, ask if there's anyone in the village who can repair a house. Our house is leaking drafts and rain, and it needs to be fixed as soon as possible."

Shitou also wanted to repair the house, but, "Young Madam, we don't have the money."

Finding someone to repair the house was simple, but both the materials and the labor cost money. Their current net worth totaled fourteen copper coins, so where would they get the money to repair the house?

Shang Wan: "It's just money, I'll have it tomorrow."

Shitou seemed to understand something. He looked around cautiously, leaned closer, and asked in a low voice, "Who are you planning to rob? There's an axe in the cellar. I'll sharpen it together later and go with you tomorrow."

Shang Wan's eyes twitched, "The young man is quite aware."

Shi Tou was just about to say something modest when Shang Wan slapped him on the head. The pain made him cover his head and gasp, staring at the person opposite him with grievance and confusion.

Why hit him?

Shang Wan rolled his eyes at him and said, "Be alert at night and keep an eye on the door. I'm going out for a while."

"You go out and do it..." Under Shang Wan's gaze, Shi Tou silently swallowed the second half of the sentence. Isn't it okay for him not to ask?

As night fell, the breathing of the people around me became even, and the little meat ball in my arms fell asleep with his lips smacking.

Shang Wan waited for a while before carefully lifting the quilt, putting on his coat, tucking the quilt for the two people on the kang, and quietly walked out the door.

The green figure disappeared in a flash into the misty night.
