"You pick the red ones, wash one and eat it first, I'll be done soon."
"Okay, Auntie, you knead the dough, and I'll pick some tomatoes to help you wash the vegetables."
Lin Han carried the basin and rinsed the vegetables she would use to make the sauce under the tap.
There was a sudden knock on the door.
"Section Chief Qin, Commander Gu? Is anyone home?"
Lin Han went to open the door and saw Li Fuguo standing at the door with something in his hand.
When Li Fuguo saw Lin Han, he almost thought he had gone to the wrong house.
He took a step back, glanced at the house number, and realized it was indeed Commander Gu's house. Why was Huo Qizheng's wife here?
"Sister-in-law, are Section Chief Qin and Commander Gu home?"
Lin Han had heard about Zhou Fei and Li Fuguo's letter of complaint. Now that Li Fuguo had suddenly come to her door with gifts, he definitely didn't have good intentions.

"Section Chief Qin, I feel really bad for the trouble I've caused you and Commander Gu these past few days. I've come to apologize and also to express my opinion on the matter between me and Zhou Fei."
Qin Shuman didn't welcome him, but she also didn't want him standing at the door so conspicuously that everyone would know.
I reluctantly let him in.
"People can come in, but don't bring anything into my yard, not even a needle or thread."
Li Fuguo was in a dilemma. "Section Chief Qin, what are you doing? As a junior, it is my duty to respect my elders."
Besides, these things aren't worth much money; they're just a small token of my appreciation.
Qin Shuman was just investigated by the Political Department today for whether she accepted bribes to facilitate Li Fuguo's promotion. It's a sensitive time, and no normal person would dare to commit a crime at this critical juncture.
Li Fuguo definitely did this on purpose.
"If you insist on taking these things, then you should leave. Don't delay our family's dinner."
Most people would feel embarrassed to stay any longer after hearing the host say that, but Li Fuguo did not.
He showed no sign of leaving; in order to get in, he left all the things he had brought at the door.
"Section Chief Qin, I've come here with sincerity, please let me in."
Li Fuguo sat down on a small stool in Qin Shuman's yard. No one poured him water, and no one gave him a kind look.
But he didn't mind at all; if he wanted to be the son-in-law of a high-ranking official, he naturally had to be able to bend and stretch.
