Chapter 53 Liu Jiang's Diary: Huo Tuan's Love Story (2/2)

Huo Qizheng continued reading.

"On June 5th, I came to deliver a change of clothes to Huo Tuan. As soon as I entered the door, I saw my sister-in-law holding Huo Tuan's hand and sleeping next to him."

I think I was calling his name in my sleep, but I couldn't hear it clearly, and tears were streaming down my face.

My sister-in-law really feels sorry for Huo Tuan.

Huo Qizheng frowned slightly. Did she cry when she was with him?

Lin Han: ...Liu Jiang, do you believe I'll sue you for defamation? Was that me feeling heartache? Were those tears on my lips?

It was clearly a dream she had of picking up a male model at a bar and choosing Huo Qizheng, making her mouth water.

Huo Qizheng didn't dare to read it all at once. Just reading this part made him go crazy, wanting to hold that wronged little woman in his arms and crush her, to meld her into his own body.

He closed his eyes and leaned against the headboard, feeling strange emotions churning within him. Blood rushed from his limbs to his heart, filling his chest with the most important person in his life.

"Hanhan, it's okay if you're shy, let me take the initiative."

After confirming Lin Han's feelings for him, Huo Qizheng was even more eager to have a home with her.

He went to the attending physician's office, hoping to be discharged from the hospital as soon as possible.

When Lin Han returned to Qin Shuman's house, no one was home. She leisurely entered the space, sat on the large sofa, took a grapefruit-flavored ice cream from the refrigerator, and started watching The Legend of Zhen Huan.

This is Lin Han's go-to show for watching while eating; she never gets tired of it. After finishing "The Legend of Zhen Huan," she watched "The Story of Ming Lan," and these two shows accompanied her through countless meals.

So much so that now whenever she watches these two shows, she feels like eating.

She figured she didn't need to go to the hospital to be with Huo Qizheng this afternoon, so she decided to treat herself to a small hot pot.

I lit the portable gas stove, poured purified water into the pot, and after it boiled, I added a piece of Sichuan-style spicy hot pot base and cooked it until fragrant.

Fangfang sent her a complete set of supplies, including no fewer than twenty kinds of ingredients that could be used for hot pot.

Lin Han put a small amount of each of the following items in small plates: tripe, beef aorta, crab sticks, shrimp dumplings, shrimp paste, tofu skin, dried bean curd sticks, tender beef, sliced pork, squid, fish tofu, duck intestines, frozen tofu, baby bok choy, dried gongcai (a type of vegetable), peanut sprouts, and hot pot noodles.

I made two dipping sauces for the hot pot: one with sesame oil and the other with sesame paste, so I could switch between them.

I also took an iced Coke from the refrigerator, poured it into a glass half-filled with ice, switched the TV to the episode about blood kinship testing, and started enjoying my hot pot.

Lin Han stayed in the space until Qin Shuman was about to get off work. She sprayed some hot pot odor remover on herself and then went out to the yard to wait for her family to come home.

Qin Shuman heard that Huo Qizheng had woken up, so she made a point of leaving get off work early today, planning to go to the hospital with Gu Huaiming to see him after dinner.

She had liked this young man before, and Gu Huaiming had always praised him highly, but now things were different.

If she treats Lin Han like a daughter, then isn't Huo Qizheng her son-in-law?

We need to be more proactive in evaluating the son-in-law; we need to uphold the dignity of Lin Han's family.

"Hanhan, you're back early today. I'll hurry up and cook. We'll eat and then go to the hospital after your uncle comes back."

"Okay, the usual way, I'll help wash the vegetables and rinse the rice."

Lin Han has now become Qin Shuman's little helper. Except for cooking, which she is not yet good at, she can handle all other small tasks with ease.

Of course, she might be the only one who thinks that Qin Shuman dotes on her and praises her no matter how well or poorly she does.

When Gu Huaiming returned, he saw the two of them busy in the kitchen. He glanced at Qin Shuman, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.

Qin Shuman immediately understood, wiped her hands, and came out of the kitchen.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?"

Gu Huaiming sighed, "Something big has happened."
