Chapter 40 Marrying Li Fuguo (2/2)

Lin Han smiled and nodded, "Okay, I understand. Aunt Qin, you should go to bed early too."

After the two said goodnight to each other, Qin Shuman saw Gu Huaiming sitting in the courtyard sighing from Lin Han's room.

"What's wrong? Aren't you afraid of hurting your health by sighing so late at night?"

Gu Huaiming recounted his conversation with Zhou Fei to Qin Shuman.

Qin Shuman was even angrier than him.

"She really said that? How could this child be like this? He's been unable to support a family for over ten years, and he treats us like enemies at the slightest provocation. It's heartbreaking."

"Li Fuguo has already explained to the political department that he and Zhou Fei are in love and that those gifts were bought for Zhou Fei in installments for their wedding."

People from the Political Department came to see me today, saying that it would be difficult to resolve the situation if Zhou Fei didn't marry Li Fugui.

These two individuals could very well turn around and accuse you, and since you're in the Organization Department, a sensitive position, you could easily be labeled as engaging in political corruption.

Qin Shuman was holding her breath, unable to exhale properly.

The daughter he raised with great care, though not his biological child, had never been mistreated.

Now, because of this, they have to become enemies. Who wouldn't be sad?

"What did Zhou Fei say? Is she willing to marry Li Fuguo? She accepted gifts worth a thousand yuan. If she has no feelings for Li Fuguo at all, isn't that a bit too much?"

This made Gu Huaiming even angrier.

"She didn't fancy Li Fuguo, but she still has her eyes on Huo Qizheng."

"What? How can she be so shameless?"

After saying that, afraid of waking Lin Han, he glanced at the window under the pomegranate tree and then whispered.

"Huo Qizheng is Hanhan's husband. They're married and have a marriage certificate. What right does she have to covet him?"

The elderly couple sighed and sat in the courtyard, unable to sleep.

Lin Han slept until after 10 a.m. the next day, enjoying a rare and very good night's sleep.

When she got up, everyone in her family had already gone to work.

Qin Shuman left some rice for her in the pot—egg fried rice and a small dish of pickled vegetables.

After breakfast, Lin Han helped tidy up the house, swept the floor, wiped the table, and cleaned up the fallen leaves in the yard. After finishing these tasks, she went back inside and entered her spatial dimension.

The feed for poultry and livestock that Lin Han had bought in Shanghai was almost gone, so she replenished it when she went to Qingzhou city last time.

She poured potatoes, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and yams into the feed machine.

The machine clatters and mixes the feed until it's evenly mixed, then spits it into the hopper of the automatic feeder.

After receiving the feed, the automatic feeder starts working, traveling between several pens according to the routes and feeding amounts set by Lin Han, feeding the animals at fixed points and in fixed quantities.

With these automated farming and feeding machines, Lin Han has saved a lot of trouble.

The vegetables she planted were almost ripe, so she picked some of the best ones, packed them in a bag, and sent them to Fangfang.

[Lin Han: Fangfang, these are organic vegetables I grew in the black soil. Take them back for your uncle and aunt to try. If they taste good, I'll grow more.]

[Fangfang: That's great! Even the vegetables we buy outside are sprayed with pesticides and ripened artificially these days. There's so little truly natural, organic food left. Hanhan, from now on, our family's healthy meals will depend on you!]

[Lin Han: No problem, leave it to me. I'll send you two more chickens, and then I'll send the pigs over when they're ready for market.]

[Fangfang: That's great! Hanhan, why don't we sell these green and pollution-free products? The sales will definitely be amazing!]
