"Okay, okay." Fang Qiao happily accepted the invitation and joked with a smile, "Wedding banquet is fine, but we can't skimp on the matchmaker's gift."
"Don't worry, you'll get a big red envelope!" Wang Yun laughed and tickled Fang Qiao's armpits. Fang Qiao was very ticklish, and she was tickled so hard she couldn't straighten up.
The two of them burst into laughter and playful banter.
Fang Qiao begged for mercy repeatedly and said many kind words before Wang Yun finally let her go.
After the commotion, Fang Qiao and Wang Yun sat together and chatted.
Fang Qiao asked, "Is everything prepared? Do you have enough tickets and vouchers?"
"Almost there, just a few odds and ends to complete it. We have enough ration coupons; Gao Ping has saved up quite a bit over the years and gave them all to me." Wang Yun lowered his voice and whispered to Fang Qiao, "He has handed over the financial power to me; I manage the money at home now."
Fang Qiao's eyes widened in surprise: "Really?"
Wang Yun nodded, blushing.
"That's good." Fang Qiao said with relief, "Entrusting you with the financial power shows that he trusts you and is of one mind with you. As long as you two work hard and stick together, you're sure to make a good life for yourselves."
"That's what I think too," Wang Yun said shyly. "Just because he was willing to let me manage his money as soon as we got married, I have to make our lives good together."
She grew up in a crowded and chaotic courtyard where there were many couples who were wary of each other.
