Cheng Baidong was of a higher rank, so he bought sleeper tickets: two lower berths and an upper berth that he bought later, all facing each other and in the same space.
Once on the train, Fang Qiao placed An An's swaddled baby on the lower bunk. Xiao Jing followed suit and also carried Tian Tian onto the bed.
Just as Cheng Baidong finished arranging his luggage, a train attendant came out in the corridor outside pushing a food cart and calling out to customers.
He stopped the train conductor and asked, "What's served for breakfast?"
"There are white flour steamed buns, mixed flour steamed buns, savory rolls, boiled eggs, as well as preserved radish and pickled mustard greens."
"Four eggs, four savory rolls, and some dried radish, please."
Cheng Baidong paid the bill and placed the breakfast on the table: "Eat up."
The train clattered along, making Tian Tian's head sway. She said in her childish voice, "Uncle, I'm dizzy, I don't want to eat."
"Don't let your head sway with the car, or you won't feel dizzy."
As Cheng Baidong spoke, he peeled the egg and handed it to Fang Qiao: "Have some."
Fang Qiao got up early in the morning and spent a lot of time packing. In the end, she left in a hurry and didn't even have time to eat the meal that was prepared at home. She was rushing to catch the bus and taking care of the children. Her stomach was already growling with hunger.
She didn't stand on ceremony with Cheng Baidong, took the egg and ate it in small bites, mainly because she couldn't take big bites, as they would make her choke.
Cheng Baidong then peeled the skin and handed it to Tian Tian, who obediently opened her mouth to eat.
Seeing that Xiaojing hadn't moved, he reminded her, "Xiaojing, you should eat too."
Xiao Jing shook her head: "Big brother, I've already eaten at home, I'm not hungry."
Cheng Baidong nodded and didn't stand on ceremony with her anymore.
Bored on the train, Tian Tian was initially excited to press her face against the window and look out, but as the journey continued through plains and endless green crops stretched as far as the eye could see, her excitement gradually faded.
By midday, I started to feel drowsy.
Fang Qiao woke up early in the morning, and after a few yawns from Tian Tian, she also felt sleepy, so she simply hugged Tian Tian and lay down to sleep together.

Then he carefully took off his shoes and climbed up to the upper bunk.
It was her first time riding a train, and she felt both curious and apprehensive.
Lying on the upper bunk, looking at the ceiling above her head, Xiao Jing's anxious heart strangely calmed down.
