Chapter 85 Attracting Bees and Butterflies

Fang Qiao laughed at her sudden change of expression.

What? Did she think that this would make Cheng Baidong treat her differently?

Giving me attitude, huh?

You hate me, don't you?

I'm going to make you feel disgusted!

Fang Qiao took Cheng Baidong's arm and said with a forced smile, "What are you standing there for? They're calling you! Come on, go up and say hello."

"Honey, I don't know her well," Cheng Bodong quickly explained, his survival instincts kicking in. "We only exchanged a few words when we came to the cafeteria to get food. She asked me which dish I wanted, and I answered what I wanted. That was the most we talked about."

"Look how scared you are. I didn't say you were familiar with her."

Fang Qiao was very satisfied with Cheng Baidong's attempt to distance himself, and her smile became more genuine: "We're all colleagues from the same factory, it's only right to say hello."

"Let's go." Fang Qiao took Cheng Baidong's arm and walked towards the window where Sun Shuyi was with a smile.

Cheng Baidong's back was stiff, and he almost moved his hands and feet in unison.

For the first time in all his years, he hated his own striking face.

It's all because he's handsome!

He cautiously pleaded, "Honey, could we try another window?"

Fang Qiao answered decisively: "No."

Sun Shuyi dared to act disgustingly in front of her, so she had to retaliate by being disgusting in return!

Otherwise, I don't want her to think I'm afraid of her!

"Shuyi, it's you! I thought I was seeing things." Fang Qiao smiled and pretended to be very enthusiastic: "This is my first time in the cafeteria. I didn't even know you worked here."

Sun Shuyi's smile was a little stiff as she secretly glanced at Cheng Baidong.

Cheng Baidong didn't even look at her.

Feeling that the current situation was a deadly one, she unconsciously moved closer to Fang Qiao, secretly praying that the flames of war would not spread to her.

Sun Shuyi saw through Cheng Baidong's little tricks, and her heart was shattered.

She forced a smile and nodded: "Yes, I work in the cafeteria."

Fang Qiao: "You work in the cafeteria, so you must know which dishes are the chef's specialties, right? Can you recommend some to us?"

Hearing Fang Qiao's overly familiar words, Sun Shuyi almost lost her smile.

Let me recommend one of my signature dishes?

What sweet dream are you having?

She bit her lip and secretly glanced at Cheng Baidong again.

Receiving no response, she pursed her lips in disappointment: "Everything, everything is fine."

There are four dishes at the window that Sun Shuyi is in charge of.

Braised pork belly, chicken carcass stewed with potatoes, cold spinach salad, stir-fried cabbage with vinegar, and a basket of steamed buns with shepherd's purse and eggs.

Fang Qiao's insulated box had four layers, and she handed it to her, saying, "Since everything is fine, then please have one of each."

Sun Shuyi took the lunchbox from Fang Qiao and silently replied, "Okay."

She slowly finished serving the food and returned the lunchbox to Fang Qiao.

Fang Qiao smiled and took it, praising her, "Shuyi, you're such a good person, you filled my lunchbox so full!"

What kind of person is that!

The lunchbox was filled with the hope that Cheng Baidong would eat more!

Who cares about your praise!

Sun Shuyi was almost overflowing with bitterness.

Fang Qiao, however, went even further and said, "I'd also appreciate it if you could get me five more shepherd's purse and egg buns."

Sun Shuyi gritted her teeth, then nodded through gritted teeth: "Okay."

"The lunchbox is full. Could you wrap it up for me with dried lotus leaves?" Fang Qiao handed the lunchbox to Cheng Baidong and said, "Baodong, the lunchbox is a bit heavy. You carry it. I'll take the buns."

"Okay." Cheng Baidong accepted.

Sun Shuyi deliberately dawdled while wrapping the buns with dried lotus leaves, but in the end, she still couldn't say a word to Cheng Baidong.

Watching the two figures walk away side by side, Sun Shuyi felt a surge of bitterness welling up inside her.

Just then, the woman at the next window remarked, "Isn't this the new Director Cheng and his wife? Oh my, they're so handsome and beautiful, they're a perfect match."

Sun Shuyi couldn't stand hearing anyone praise Fang Qiao and Cheng Baidong as a good match; she was so angry she almost threw the ladle she was using to serve food.

But no matter how angry she was, it was no use.

After all, they were married legally and with all the necessary documents. It wasn't her place, that ugly monster, to object!

On the way home, Cheng Baidong carried a lunchbox in one hand and put his arm around Fang Qiao's shoulder with the other.

Fang Qiao, holding the steamed bun wrapped in dried lotus leaves, dodged away.

Cheng Baidong said aggrievedly, "Wife, I'm innocent."

"What did you wrong?" Fang Qiao asked gently.

"I'm completely innocent," Cheng Baidong protested. "I only knew her surname was Sun before. If you hadn't called her name today, I wouldn't even know her full name! She's someone who's prone to having many romantic encounters, and she's just having a crush on me. You can't blame me for that, can you?"

"You've done nothing and you've already made her heart flutter. What if she's interested in you too?" Fang Qiao glared at him playfully. "You stinky man! You're such a flirt! So annoying!"

Her glare wasn't intimidating; instead, it was a playful and sassy charm that made Cheng Baidong eager to get closer to her.

"Does it smell bad? If it smells bad, how will it attract bees and butterflies? I think it smells good." He approached with a shameless grin: "Wife, smell it again, does it smell bad or smell good?"

Fang Qiao pushed his face away: "I don't want to smell it, go away!"

Instead of leaving, Cheng Baidong looked around and, taking advantage of the absence of others, quickly approached and stole a kiss on Fang Qiao's left cheek.

A huge face suddenly loomed large in front of him, and even the most handsome face couldn't withstand Fang Qiao's gaze.

Fang Qiao was both ashamed and angry. She raised her foot and stomped on him: "You're being a pervert! Shameless!"

"Wife, I only act like a hooligan with you, how can you say I'm shameless!" Cheng Baidong lowered his head in grievance.

"Well……"

He looked really wronged. Fang Qiao silently reflected on whether she had gone too far.

However, at that moment, she felt a kiss on her right cheek.

Looking up, I saw Cheng Baidong's smug smile.

"Oh! You lied to me!" Fang Qiao realized what was happening and waved her little fist as if to hit him.

"You big bad guy!"

Cheng Baidong quickly ran forward to avoid him.

Fang Qiao chased after him, holding a steamed bun: "Don't run away!"

Cheng Baidong was tall and had long legs, so he could take two steps in one stride of Fang Qiao. It wasn't until they reached the front door of Fang Qiao's house that she could barely catch up with his shadow.

Fang Qiao angrily punched his back: "I told you not to play me for a fool!"

Cheng Baidong grabbed her small fist and bent down as if to kiss her hand.

The two were arguing in front of their house when a surprised child's voice suddenly came from behind them.

"Uncle! You're back!"

Sweetie was sitting at the door of the main room playing with rope when Cheng Bodong entered and she stood up and ran towards him.

The two of them, who were both over fifty years old combined, were caught red-handed roughhousing by a three-year-old child. It was incredibly embarrassing.

Fang Qiao quickly shook off Cheng Baidong's hand.

Cheng Baidong coughed lightly, gave a deliberately serious "hmm," and changed the subject, asking, "It's cold outside, Tiantian, why are you sitting outside?"
