Chapter 43 I Want to Divorce Him

Before Lao Wang could roar out the unbearable threat behind him, a tall and straight figure, with a biting chill, stood silently beside Su Tang like a suddenly moving mountain.

It’s Lu Xiao.

I don't know when he came in, wearing a neat training uniform, with broad shoulders and long legs.

The pair of deep eyes under the brim of the hat were now as gloomy as the sea surface before a storm, and were piercingly cold and nailed to Lao Wang's face that was distorted by rage.

Old Wang was choked by the sudden strong feeling of oppression, the rest of his words were stuck in his throat, and the finger pointing at Su Tang froze in mid-air.

There was no expression on Lu Xiao's face, and he didn't even look at Lao Wang a second time.

He turned slightly and placed the steaming enamel bowl in his hand, which smelled of chopped green onions and sesame oil, on the table in front of Su Tang.

The bottom of the bowl hit the table, making a light sound, neither loud nor soft, but it was particularly clear in the silence.

Then, Lu Xiao raised his eyelids and his gaze finally fell on Lao Wang's face.

His voice was not loud, and was calm without a trace of emotion.

"No what?"

After hearing what Lu Xiao said, Lao Wang paused and his face looked very bad.

"Lu Xiao, it was your wife who slandered me first."

There are some things that everyone actually knows, but it would be bad if you say them in front of so many people.

"My wife's words are my attitude."

"She never lies or slanders others."

After Lu Xiao finished speaking, he no longer paid attention to Old Wang who was standing there stiffly.

He pulled out the stool next to Su Tang very naturally, sat down, picked up his own pair of clean chopsticks, and started eating as if no one was around.

Su Tang still maintained the same posture of fiddling with the food, but a smile appeared on his face.

She lowered her head and looked at the bowl of steaming soup in front of her that Lu Xiao had brought to her personally, and sniffed.

Egg drop soup is a rare thing nowadays.

She picked up the spoon, scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew on it, and drank it in small sips.

In fact, Su Tang didn't intend to make a big deal out of it. He chose to do it during dinner time because he knew that those who were with Lao Wang were all his friends.

After she said that, Lao Wang no longer dared to openly show his affection to Zheng Jinxin.

Because as long as they go to find Zheng Jinxin, everyone will know what he is going to do.

It is also a disguised way of asking everyone to supervise Lao Wang.

It is said that one should not interfere in other people's karma, as even a judge cannot judge family affairs.

But Su Tang really didn't want Sister Zhang Cui to suffer any injustice.

It would be great if it could serve as a warning.

It's Lao Wang's fault for being guilty and making a fuss everywhere.

Old Wang was choked by Lu Xiao's words, and the arrogance of Su Tang and Zhang Cui instantly became half a head shorter under Lu Xiao's cold gaze.

But he was unwilling to lose face in front of so many people, especially when he saw his wife Zhang Cui actually dragging Lu Xiao over, which added fuel to the fire.

He didn't dare yell at Lu Xiao anymore. He turned to Zhang Cui abruptly, as if he had found the safest outlet to vent his anger and shame.

"Zhang Cui!"

Lao Wang's voice rose, filled with anger. "This is your good friend! You've really grown up! You teamed up with outsiders to frame your man and make fun of me, right?!"

Zhang Cui trembled all over after being yelled at by him, and the cleverness and agility she showed in front of outsiders was completely gone.

"I don't……"

Lao Wang waved his hand so violently that he almost knocked over the dishes on the table next to him.

He pointed at Zhang Cui's nose and his saliva almost sprayed on her face.

"Look at you, you coward! You treat other people's farts as imperial decrees! People give you some magic potion, and you don't even know your own last name?"

"What else can you do, stupid woman like you, besides holding me back and embarrassing me?!"

Every word and sentence was like a poisoned knife, stabbing Zhang Cui's heart.

She had never heard such harsh words from Lao Wang.

Zhang Cui's face turned from pale to blue, her body was shaking, and countless gazes around her pierced her like needles.

She felt dizzy and wished she could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

Zhang Cui subconsciously wanted to pull Lao Wang's sleeve, begging him to stop talking, stop making a fuss, and save her some face.

Seeing this scene, Su Tang was completely furious.

How could he be such a person who took out his anger on a woman for his incompetence and fickleness?

"Wang Jianfeng!"

Su Tang put down the spoon, stood up, and his face turned completely cold.

She could tolerate Lao Wang coming at her, but she could never tolerate him humiliating Zhang Cui in public like this.

She was about to speak when Lu Xiao beside her grabbed her wrist.

Lu Xiao's palms were warm and strong, bringing a silent comfort.

"Wang Jianfeng, this is the military cafeteria, not your home. Be mindful of your words and your status. Insulting your wife's character is a serious mistake."

"I teach my wife a lesson, what's it to you?!"

Old Wang listened to Lu Xiao's official tone and shouted without thinking, "Our family affairs are none of your business! Just take care of your own wife and don't let her stir up trouble!"

"She is my wife, so naturally I have to take care of her."

Lu Xiao's voice remained steady, but his eyes were sharp as a knife. "As for your family affairs, insulting military family members in public has a bad influence. This is not just your family matter. The organization will pay attention to it."

The word "organization" was like a basin of cold water, poured over Lao Wang's anger.

The color drained away from his face in an instant, but he could no longer utter a single word.

He is just a small logistics section chief. Lu Xiao is not only the powerful battalion commander, but also a young officer with great prospects.
