Chapter 17: A Conversation Between Two Underachievers
"stop."
Gu Yuanyuan strode over and blocked Shi Nianzhi's path.
Then he frowned in disgust. "What's that in your hand?"
Shi Nianzhi blinked his innocent eyes and waved the chicken in his hand. "Don't you even recognize a chicken?"
"Stop talking nonsense."
Gu Yuanyuan raised her foot and kicked Shi Nianzhi in the knee.
Shi Nianzhi staggered from the kick and took a step back.
He looked at Gu Yuanyuan and said, "I can hit people too, so don't keep hitting me."
"Then fight back! It's not like I'm afraid of you."
As Gu Yuanyuan spoke, she kicked Shi Nianzhi.
Shi Nianzhi took a deep breath, pursed his lips, and after being kicked a few times by Gu Yuanyuan, he put the chicken and sack on the ground.
Shi Nianzhi lunged at Gu Yuanyuan, hooked his arm around Gu Yuanyuan's neck, and knocked her to the ground.
He held Gu Yuanyuan down, slightly angry, "Are you going to hit me again?"
Despite saying that, he was kind after all; he only pressed Gu Yuanyuan to the ground forcefully, but did not hit him.
He used to be no match for a group of them, but in a one-on-one fight, Gu Yuanyuan wasn't as strong as him.
The three people in the car got out immediately when they saw this.
"Let go of Brother Yuan, you country bumpkin."

Gu Yuanyuan raised her fist, reciting it as she threatened and intimidated.
Shi Nianzhi pursed his lips, his lowered eyelids concealing the loneliness in his eyes. "I came to give him some local specialties, but he didn't want them. I'm planning to go back now."
"Who is it? Am I Uncle Lu?"
"Um."
Gu Yuanyuan laughed and lowered her raised fist. "So you were turned away by my Uncle Lu. Judging from this, he doesn't want you anymore."
Gu Yuanyuan took a step forward and searched all of Shi Nianzhi's pockets.
They found an ID card and two hundred yuan.
"Look at your pathetic state! Two hundred yuan is all you have left, isn't it? You think you can hook up with Uncle Lu with just two hundred yuan? What a pipe dream you're having!"
Gu Yuanyuan's Chinese is extremely poor, and she misuses words.
Shi Nianzhi said in a light voice, "It's Zhuangzi dreaming of being a butterfly."
It's a shame that this academically challenged student thought Gu Yuanyuan used the wrong words.
Gu Yuanyuan's underling couldn't stand the conversation between the two academic underachievers any longer and said, "It would be more appropriate for you to be dreaming big."
Gu Yuanyuan took the two hundred yuan from Shi Nianzhi and threw his ID card on the ground.
He gave the underling who interrupted him a cold look and said, "Let him go. We're going back."

The four tall teenagers walked away chatting and laughing in the afterglow of the setting sun.
Shi Nianzhi rubbed his swollen lips, bent down to pick up his ID card, wiped the dust off his clothes, and put it in his pocket.
His money was stolen, and he needs to find a way to get it back.
