Chapter 15 You Don't Like Me
Outside the gate of the Lujiangwan Villa District in Beijing.
The security guard was someone I knew from Shi Nianzhi; this was from Third Master's family.
When he arrived, the security guard saluted him and opened the door for him.
Because the villa area is very large and few people enter and exit on foot, the security guard kindly asked, "Would you like a car to take you there?"
Shi Nianzhi felt a little embarrassed, as he was naturally not fond of troubling others.
But he was really tired after a day of traveling, so he looked at the security guard and said, "Thank you if it's not too much trouble for you."
"No trouble at all, please wait a moment."
The security guard went to make the arrangements with a friendly smile.
When he came out of the guard booth, he saw Shi Nianzhi desperately holding down the two old hens that were flapping wildly as soon as they were put on the ground. A tiny chicken feather even flew onto the top of the boy's head.
It's somewhat comical.
Shi Nianzhi frowned, gritted his teeth slightly, and forcefully suppressed the two old hens that had become wild due to being free-range.
The rope binding the chickens' feet came undone, and the two chickens flapped their wings and ran away.
The security guard couldn't help but chuckle. "Need any help?"
"If it's convenient, could you go and catch that one for me?"
Shi Nianzhi pointed with his finger.
The security guard found Shi Nianzhi's words amusing; he sounded polite, but wasn't really that polite. He chuckled and said, "Okay."
The driver who was driving Lu Jiunian joked, "Mr. Lu is in luck today. The security guard has never slacked off in ages, and you caught him doing it."
Lu Jiunian looked at the document without even raising his head, clearly indicating that such a trivial matter was not worth his attention.
Fortunately, the barrier automatically recognizes license plates, and the driver continued to drive in.
Upon seeing the busy Shi Nian, he said to Lu Jiunian in the back seat, "It's Young Master Shi. Are you back from your vacation in your hometown? You brought me a gift, but it seems you've run away."
The man then looked up and, sure enough, saw Shi Nianzhi bending over, catching chickens here and there in the afterglow of the setting sun.
The blue and white school uniform pants accentuated her long legs when she bent over, and the waistline was clearly visible under the thin fabric.
The driver drove up to the vicinity of Shi Nianzhi and honked the horn once.
Shi Nianzhi held the hen he had just caught in his hand as he watched the car window behind him slowly roll down, revealing Lu Jiunian's cold and stern face.
Lu Jiunian remained silent for a moment. Shi Nianzhi was silent for a while, then raised the chicken so that its claws were pointing directly at Lu Jiunian's face.
The man was slightly displeased. "Where did this come from?"
"Caught in my hometown."
"You managed to bring this from so far away?"
Shi Nianzhi honestly replied, "Yes, it's very difficult to bring. You can't bring it on the train, so I took a bus."
The man said in a deep voice, "Didn't you dislike it here? Why did you come back?"
"My family is very grateful for your help, so I asked you to bring us some local specialties. We hope you will accept them as a small token of our appreciation."
"You came here just to say this?"
Shi Nianzhi nodded, "Okay, I'll put the things in your car, you can take them back with you."
He said he would put his things in the car, but didn't say he wanted to go together.
The man sneered, "So eager to distance yourself from me, yet you're rushing to send me something?"
"I've already brought it, so just accept it. This chicken is delicious when stewed."
"What else is on your mind all day long besides eating?"
Lu Jiunian's harsh tone.
Shi Nianzhi held the chicken wing in her beautiful hands.
He lowered his head, looking somewhat guilty. "If you don't like it, I'll take it back. My dad said if you don't want me to stay, I don't need to come looking for you anymore."
