Chapter 20 of the game
Gu Yuanyuan remained silent for a moment before taking the suitcase from Zhou He's hands.
"This is none of your business."
He walked forward, the wheels of his suitcase scraping against the ground, making a sound that, though so faint, sounded so jarring to Zhou He.
Zhou He had his back to Gu Yuanyuan, looking utterly exhausted. "Brother Yuan, I've been following you for so many years, watching you act foolishly, watching you go crazy, and then watching you walk out of this mess."
Gu Yuanyuan paused for a fleeting moment.
Zhou He's slightly hoarse voice, with its unique tone, conveyed pain as he said, "You are like a fragile treasure, held in my hands, which I cherish with utmost care. But you always run to Su Hengyi and let him smash you to pieces. Then I kneel on the ground, pick you up, and piece you back together bit by bit. Then you run back to him, and I piece you back together again."
Zhou He lowered his head, tears streaming down his cheeks. "That was my most cherished treasure. I've watched it break, be repaired, break again, time and time again. I'm so tired, so very tired. My heart feels like it's being cut by a knife, but I know I can't stop you. If someone doesn't love another, they can't see their pain, right, Brother Yuan? You know that, don't you?"
Gu Yuanyuan remained silent.
Zhou He let out a heavy breath, suppressing a sob, and said softly in a voice filled with despair, "Brother Yuan, I'm really, really tired. If you walk out of here today, I won't care about you anymore."
The sound of wheels rubbing against the ground started again.
Gu Yuanyuan walked forward resolutely, and Zhou He suddenly turned around to look at Gu Yuanyuan's back.
His voice was sharp and somewhat frantic, "If you walk out this door, I'll never want you again! I'll never... never again..."
Zhou He lowered his head, his vision blurred by tears.
He gritted his teeth but couldn't bring himself to say the words.
Finally, as Gu Yuanyuan walked further and further away, almost stepping out of that door...
Zhou He chased after him again, steeling himself to utter those words, as if he were speaking to Gu Yuanyuan, yet also as if he were speaking to himself.
"If you walk out this door today, I will never love you again!"
"Gu Yuanyuan!"
"Did you hear me?!"
"Did you fucking hear me?!"
Zhou He's voice grew more desperate and hysterical with each shout, his face and neck turning red from the screams, and the veins in his neck bulging.
But Gu Yuanyuan didn't hesitate for a second before pulling his suitcase out of the door. He didn't look back at Zhou He, as if the person behind him wasn't worth a second glance.
Zhou He seemed to be unable to support himself any longer and leaned against the wall. After a long while, he slowly slid down the wall.
She covered her face with her hands.
Tears welled up so much that they couldn't even be hidden between her fingers.
After a long while, Zhou He burst into tears, and in his hoarse voice, he told himself, "I really don't want you anymore."
Country A.
Gu Yuanyuan got off the plane and was waiting for a car to pick him up when suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and then everything went black and he lost consciousness.
When he woke up, he was surrounded by a damp, salty sea breeze, and his whole body ached from being bound by ropes.
Gu Yuanyuan opened her eyes and saw a vast, dark sea in the distance. It seemed as if some ferocious beast was lurking in the darkness, making her feel terrified and afraid.
Has he been kidnapped?
Gu Yuanyuan turned her head and saw Mu Guangcheng, who was also hanging in mid-air, still unconscious.
Mu Guangcheng was also kidnapped?
Who did it?
Mu Yang?
Gu Yuanyuan struggled desperately, and the rope spun to the other side in mid-air. Sure enough, a group of bodyguards in black stood on the deck, keeping a close watch on them.
The ship was still slowly sailing on the sea.
Gu Yuanyuan looked at himself and Mu Guangcheng, who were also tied up. He seemed to understand something, but because he disliked Mu Guangcheng, he remained silent and did not speak to him.
A bodyguard noticed that Gu Yuanyuan had woken up and left the deck to report something.
After a while, Mu Yang came out. Gu Yuanyuan hadn't seen him for three years. He had grown to over 1.8 meters tall. His eyebrows and eyes were actually somewhat similar to Mu Guangcheng's, but he exuded a sinister aura.
The black shirt was unbuttoned, and the sea breeze made Mu Yang's collar billow. A black leopard was tattooed from his chest to his collarbone, and it was clear that the tattoo artist's skills were excellent, making it lifelike.
At this moment, it looks like it's about to jump out and devour people.
Mu Yang sat on the chair brought by the bodyguard, his long, slender fingers interlaced in front of his stomach, and he looked up at Gu Yuanyuan.
"What a coincidence, we meet again."
"......"
Gu Yuanyuan disdained to pay any attention to Mu Yang, that madman.
Don't let Mu Yang's youthful appearance fool you; at eighteen or nineteen, the darkness hidden within him is deadly.
Mu Yang asked the bodyguard beside him, "Is my brother still not awake?"
"Young Master Mu, no."
"Wake him up."
"yes."
The bodyguard made a gesture, and after a while, a bucket of ice-cold water was splashed at Mu Guangcheng.
The icy chill jolted Mu Guangcheng awake from his unconsciousness, and he opened his eyes.
He swayed and struggled for a moment, the rope turned, and he slowly turned around while hanging in mid-air, and then he could see Mu Yang's face clearly.
Mu Yang also gestured to him, "Su Xinsheng, brother, you chose this name. Are you afraid I won't guess it's you? You're still alive? That really surprises me. You didn't die from falling off such a high cliff. You're really lucky."
Mu Guangcheng narrowed his eyes slightly. He had been kidnapped by Mu Yang's men at the company.
"You have planted informants in my company."
Mu Yang smiled, and if it weren't for the fact that he gave off a rather sinister vibe, his smile would have seemed quite harmless.
He said, "No, brother, although your crappy company has shown signs of growing in recent years, it's not worth me planting spies in. I don't even look at it."
It was as if they knew what Mu Guangcheng wanted to ask.
After a pause, Mu Yang said, "It was because you contacted Su Hengyi that your identity was exposed. You thought you could kill me by secretly collecting evidence of my crimes and handing it over to the police? You're too naive. I don't like being killed by others, so I had to strike first. Brother, you underestimated me. Did you think you could have everything? Career and love, things I can't have. How could you be so optimistic?"
Mu Guangcheng sneered, "Your death is imminent."
"I don't know when I will die, but my brother's death is definitely coming."
Mu Yang took the pistol handed to him by the bodyguard and aimed it at Mu Guangcheng.
Even Gu Yuanyuan looked over.
Mu Yang closed one eye, smiled softly, and pulled the trigger.
"Clang—"
With a "whoosh," Mu Yang laughed heartily, "Brother, you're so lucky! Your magazine can hold ten bullets, but I only loaded one. I just fired a blank, so I have nine more chances left."
He found the nine chances amusing.
Then she looked at Gu Yuanyuan and said, "You really want my brother to die, don't you? After all, if he really died, you could be with Su Hengyi forever."
Gu Yuanyuan looked coldly at Mu Yang, still ignoring the madman's aggressive behavior.
Mu Yang smiled and said, "Don't worry, I will grant your wish. After all, it's either you or him who dies today. I still have to wait for a distinguished guest. Don't rush, take your time. I have plenty of time, and I love playing this kind of game the most."
Mu Guangcheng told Mu Yang, word by word, "You are the one who deserves to die the most. By doing this, you have essentially let Su Hengyi send the evidence against you ahead of time. The police will not let you off the hook."
"I didn't say the police would let me go. Can't I take someone down with me even if I die?"
After Mu Yang finished speaking, he seemed a little sleepy. He took the milk handed to him by the bodyguard, yawned, and lazily walked into the cabin to go to sleep.
Gu Yuanyuan and Mu Guangcheng had nothing to say to each other, so apart from the sound of the wind, there was no other sound around them.
And so it went until the night of the second day.
The weather at sea is unpredictable; it has rained twice already.
Although Mu Yang was suspending them by binding their arms and keeping their bodies in the air, not by suspending their wrists, the weather and lack of water were still taking a toll on Gu Yuanyuan's body.
He was delirious with fever, his lips were dry, and his face was as pale as paper.
Finally, even Mu Guangcheng couldn't stand it anymore and asked, "Are you alright?"
Gu Yuanyuan ignored Mu Guangcheng, and the truth was that he was in a very bad situation.
Mu Guangcheng then said, "The police and Su Hengyi will be here soon. Hang in there, neither of us will die."
After a while, Gu Yuanyuan sneered and uttered two words, "Hypocrisy."
Mu Guangcheng didn't say anything more. He called to the bodyguards on the ground, "Your boss wants to play games. If someone dies, the game can't be played. Give us water and food!"
Mu Yang came out at this moment, and the bodyguard went up to ask him. Mu Yang actually nodded, "My brother is right. It's no fun when people die. Give them water and food, and if they have a fever, give them some antipyretics."
Even so, Gu Yuanyuan, who was sick, was still not much better. He had a high fever and was sweating profusely after taking antipyretics. When he was blown by the cold, damp sea breeze, he felt cold all over his body.
Just when he thought he couldn't hold on any longer and was about to lose.
The wailing of sirens grew louder as they approached, and the red and blue lights almost illuminated the entire sea.
The rescue is finally coming.
The sounds of Mu Yang negotiating with the police echoed in Gu Yuanyuan's ears, sounding both close and distant.
Finally, someone walked onto the deck—it was Su Hengyi, dressed in a black trench coat, all alone.
Gu Yuanyuan weakly raised her eyes and could see Su Hengyi's indifferent face and his determined gaze.
He seemed to be boarding a ship with a sense of certainty.
Gu Yuanyuan thought to herself, "They're determined to rescue Mu Guangcheng, aren't they? In this ridiculous, stupid two-choice game, Su Hengyi will definitely choose Mu Guangcheng."
As for Gu Yuanyuan, didn't he deserve to die in this relationship?
Gu Yuanyuan curled her lips into a mocking and sarcastic smile.
Perhaps it's time to end it all. After all...
He was very tired.
